Hi everyone health help welcome and follena welcome back from your cruise! I hope that you had a great time.

GettinFit, I can't ty enough for the kind words and calling on me. I am finally coming in to write. Yesterday, at a moments notice, we got a call from the docs office wanting us to go to another eye specialist. We went into Boston and were there 3 hours waiting to see the doc and hit traffic on way back. Needless to say, it was a long day, we had not eaten lunch and were famished after. We went to a restaurant on the way back home and it was totally not OP! Dear I say the dreaded P word? lol At the time , I didn't even care either!

I thought after that I cannot let that turn into a roll, despite any running around or worries, I must get right back on it today and not undo all my hard work this month! Finally made it to the market today and fortunately it wasn't too bad considering we are in for a snowstorm tonight and tomorrow. So far so good today food wise, my tummy felt very heavy this morning. I got a roast chicken for tonight.

Between the doc visits for DH, I been researching. I like to read, sometimes to my dismay, but like to be as knowledgeable as possible in order to ask the right questions. Yes what happened to his eye is very scary! Basically it was a loss of blood flow to the optic nerve. They think it may be restored within a couple of months. The doc we saw Thursday thought it might be possible it was temporal arteritis (which is not good and we would need to act very fast, we took blood samples Friday to hopefully rule that out). Yesterday, the doc in boston believes it is leaning away from that (I sure hope so) and more towards a non arteritic ischemic optic neuropathy. I left a message and will call back first thing Monday morning, though I am trying to be positive, I will feel much better when we get those blood test results! I read a lot but I am trying not to jump the gun until we get those results and I don't want to scare DH if it is not needed. You can bet that we will be on top of it! I honestly think he will be fine but we will know more with the follow up visits and results. Sorry for the, god I hope not TMI, I guess I am just worried but trying to keep it to myself (in other words not alarm him too much or my family).

Enough about me! It is very nice to hear your news and that all is going well! Keep up that wonderful roll. I know how much you enjoy your Stony mountains hikes form your posts and sorry the weather is not going to be conducive, you really enjoyed your firm tape last time, maybe you can do one of those? Oh and yayyyy on another few lbs. dropped this week That is great and your menu looks great too! I am so glad I came in to write! : ) I will let you know what is going on here tomorrow, they are saying now that maybe more rain than snow...we shall see! I still have not seen my parenst in a few weeks and miss them but I wont go anywhere near them until any and all coughing has subsided as it's dangerous for daddy to catch anything (but he has been great). I just am very careful.

Follena, I would love to hear more of your cruise and where you visited and how you liked the islands if your up to it and find time to share...I love to hear of that stuff as GettinFit is familiar with! LOL

I wish you all a great weekend and I will check back soon! Hugs

Weekend Boater - I hope it is non arteritic ischemic optic neuropathy and that he have a full recovery in the time they predict or less. It's good to read and gain knowledge so that you have an idea of what's going on. Sounds like you had a long and tiring day yesterday. Great job on resisting the temptations today! You are doing so well not to stress eat during this challenging situation with DH. Hang in there and stay strong.

Hi everyone

GettinFit, hi there! I went to bed late but slept in and feel much better today! How are you doing? I hope that your having a nice Sunday and woke up to a new good day. It's cold, snowy , and icy out there and I am more than happy to be in the house! I will be in tomorrow too, good thing I got the groceries the other day.

I got through last night, thank goodness! Today there have been quite some temptations around here but I avoided them! The smell got me but I walked away and came in the site to type! lol so far so good! I promised myself I will not touch any of that stuff! For dinner either having the r chick breast with veggies and gr. salad or the stuff chicken breast. Leaning toward the latter as of right now.

Have a great Sunday. I would love to watch a nice movie tonight but there is a big game on! I may pick up one of my books.

Hi Weekend Boater,

Glad you're feeling better after a good nights sleep. Great job on walking away from the temptations too. You are strengthening your resistance muscle (I learned that from The Beck Diet Solution) I hope you enjoyed the rest of your Sunday.

I'm having a nice day. It's really cold here today (Not as cold as it is your way). Tonight it's supposed to be our coldest night of 24 degrees. Of all times for this to happen, my heat stopped working over night. My service man is a friend and he and his family are out of town this weekend so I'll have to wait until Tuesday to get it repaired. Thankfully I have a few space heaters and if I need to I can light my fireplace. I am dressed in layers and so far it's not too bad.

Today's log
B: 1/2 Lewis Healthy Grain bun, 2 tsp PB, Coffee w/skim milk & creamer
L/D 6 air fried drumettes, collards, WW bar
S: orange, WW sweet/salty bar, 8 RF Club crackers
Exercise: The Firm Total Body Time Crunch

Hi GettinFit, I am so sorry about your heat going off. I feel bad your there in the cold. Last March we had terrible cold and wind storms and lost power a couple times...once for a few days and after one night of no heat the house can get real cold. Those space heaters help (I brought them all over to my parents and lied about not being cold, lol) but I am so glad you have a fireplace! We had one at the other house and it's very nice to have in general and especially under such circumstances. I hope the weather got a bit milder there and your staying good and bundled up. The weather here today is awful, coldest day thus far and windy with a windchill of 15 to 25 below zero. You can bet I am staying in! lol

I have good news about DH! The blood tests look good and I am so relieved alsoooooo yesterday he said he feels his eye is getting better in that the visual field opened up a bit more in the affected region! We will be following up with the docs.

Do you ladies mind if I join in? I started meal planning a week ago and it really worked for me last week. I eat clean Keto...so low carb, high fats, moderate protein. I have been following Kristie Sullivan on Facebook and youtube for a little bit now and decided to go all in over a week ago. I really love it, and it is working for me! I have never felt better.

Today's plan:
B: eggs & sausage gravy (didn't make this...didn't have enough eggs for everyone, so I ate 1.5 hard-boiled eggs with mayo & dijon mustard, a little bit of a sausage patty, and a few oz. of mozzarella cheese & sharp cheddar cheese, coffee with heavy whipping cream)
L: Skillet pizza (didn't eat this because I ate a late breakfast...ate 1/2 cup of strawberries with a little bit of liquid stevia blend on them)
D: Taco Bake
