kfunk: CONGRATS on hitting - and surpassing! - your June goal!!! And - if Ange is right about the bit under your avatar being correct - for HITTING 100 LBS DOWN, as well! That is awesome! As for the water, I hit the gallon the past couple days but am still playing catch-up on the water today...it's 11pm right now, and I'm only a little over halfway there, because I didn't have my water bottle for the whole dinner/pool day thing today and ended up drinking wine, so I'm sure I will be dehydrated tomorrow. Trying to safely chug as much as I can before bed, but I'm sure I will be up half the night for pee breaks if I'm able to get the whole gallon in...lol. Great job getting in 150oz, by the way!!

nicoley73: I'm sorry to hear about the bathroom fixture...I probably would have jumped and fallen out of bed from the sudden crashing sound, lol. I hope you were able to get some more restful sleep last night.

Lacerta: I hope your schedule goes as planned and that you're able to get in a little R&R after the busy last few weeks!

Catherine Rose: The pizza was good, but I think I may have delayed my whoosh for a few days after tonight's dinner more than anything...just hoping the damage won't be too bad tomorrow!

Kim: I'm glad that the macro shift seems to be helping -- aside from the TOM bump, which is just the bloating being a jerk, lol -- and I hope you're able to successfully reintroduce some more variety to find that sustainable "sweet spot" that will keep you moving down but won't have you hating life, either...lol.

Chunkah: I'm hoping that, with your doctor's guidance and the new calorie range, you're able to eat enough to properly heal while still staying in a weightloss window...and, I hope the collagen supplements help, as well!

Snow Mama: Best of luck healthily navigating all of the events coming up, and let us know how the movie is once you see it!

Emma: Hi!!

Ange: I know what you mean...I skip one day of personals and I'm having to play some serious catch up just to keep up! I did the higher cals and drinks tonight, so we'll see if I get a gain as well tomorrow...the alcohol bit always seems to bite people in the butt the next day from all the things I've read, lol.

Cattails: Nice loss!

-----------------------------------------

Checking in super late today! It's after 11pm, but we just got home about an hour ago. I forgot that today was that rescheduled dinner and pool day up at our friend's house out of town. I didn't get to weigh-in before we left, so doing a "No Weigh-In" on the tracking...but, still wanted to catch up a little on the personals before I went to bed so I wouldn't be overwhelmed with the catching up tomorrow...lol. The pool day went well, and I got along really well with his wife, which I was happy about. In most of these kinds of situations, the wives get put together to chat even if they don't know each other, so - with my social anxiety - I was happy to find we were able to mesh well and get along. And, the kids all pretty much got along as well, so it was a win-win...lol.

Something I didn't expect though was drinking some wine while we were there, so I'm not sure what that will do on the scale tomorrow. I rarely ever drink and haven't even really done so other than a few sips on my entire weightloss journey, but I know it can bloat you up really easily, and I had THREE glasses...and just that approximate 15oz was almost 400 cals! Trying to make sure I play a little catch-up on my water before bed to offset the dehydration effect of the alcohol. They also had an Asian-style pasta salad as a side for the BBQ they did, so - being the only vegetarian - I made a "burger without the patty" kind of thing and indulged a little on the noodles on the side so I got enough to eat. Since I don't really eat pasta much anymore these days either, we will have to see how that affects the scale tomorrow, too...lol. But, I had a good time and life happens, so I will take it in stride and learn how these kinds of things will turn out when they inevitably happen again in the future. It's a process, lol. We'll see what the damage is in the morning. For now, I'm heading to bed...hope everyone had a good night!

Quick post today.

Today's weigh in, while it looks awfully pretty, is not super honest. Yesterday was a really busy day so I ended up under on everything. I felt a bit hungry when I finally got home but I was even more tired so I just went to bed. So I fully expect 245 not to stick around tomorrow. It is another busy day today but I intend to make sure I get my calories, water and electrolytes in better today.

lunkah - Thank you, and I am pretty sure that none of the 2.5 bump up is real for you. You have been very responsible in the types of extra calories you are adding and you haven't been adding enough extra to warrant a true gain. I hope that you see the 130's again very soon!!

Catherine- The sleepover with your Granddaughters sounded like a lot of fun! That's awesome about your Grandson placing 3rd for his triathlon!! Thank you and awesome job choosing healthy foods to snack on!

Ange - Yep, 100 down!! I thought that I would be so much more excited to hit that milestone, but I am a bit down due to some bad news I received last week and also I have back to back weekends that are coming up and I know that I will end up bouncing back up. Thank you, I hope that there is an easy solution to the produce issue!

cattails- You are cruising along very nicely!!

Ophelia - Thank you!!!! I am so glad that you had fun at the pool party!! It is really nice when the kids AND parents hit it off. I also have social anxiety so I am really glad that it worked out well!! That Asian style pasta sounds like something right up my ally, I hope that you don't bump up too much. It is really hard hitting the full gallon in that situation, but hitting half is wonderful! I think I got 80 oz. yesterday which is pretty good for being out at a BBQ.

kim- Nice whoosh! I will always choose sleep over food so I would have done the same thing in that scenario! I hope that you get to keep most of your whoosh!!

We went to a family BBQ yesterday and I did eat more than what I was expecting to, but I was very happy that the scale did not shoot up like I expected it to!! I had a hotdog, and then very small scoops of baked beans, taco salad, and 3 variations of potato salads. I only drank water but then I had 3 lemon bars, a rice crispy bar, and 2 other bars. At least the bars were all super small, but that was WAY more desert than I planned on eating. We ate around 4 and then I was full for the rest of the night.

kfunk: I'm sorry to hear you are feeling down, but at some point, when you are feeling more up, be sure to celebrate that 100 pound loss. That is so amazing.

lunkah: The short term weight gain can be worth it if it benefits your health in other ways. You can lose it back after, but you only have one chance to feed your body while healing. I think you are making smart choices.

Kim: Whether it sticks or not, it is great to see that number today. Here's to keeping as much of it as possible.

ophelia: Hope the damage isn't too bad, but you are so focused, that I know you will recover quickly.

cattails: That is great progress for being so close to goal. Way to go

Kim: Still a nice loss to see on the scale for today...hope you get to keep at least some, if not most, of it tomorrow after a more normal day today!

kfunk: I was only able to squeeze in a few more servings after I checked in here last night, so about 100oz overall. Hopefully, we will both be able to play a little catch up on the water today. And, I have to admit that those lemon bars sound amazing right about now...lemon-based desserts are some of my favorites, so I would have been right there with you at the dessert table!

Lacerta: It was a lot less than I was expecting, so I will take it...and, nice loss for you today!

-----------------------------------------

The scale was up a bit today, but not as much as I expected...weigh-in was 170.2. Considering the alcohol, extra calories, and the fact that I didn't end up getting in my whole gallon in before falling asleep (only a little over 100oz), I will consider that a blessing and just hope that it will start coming down again before the end of the month!

Hi guys. I hope you all have a good upcoming week. I go back to work on Wednesday after being off for a week and a half. Man that'll suck. I've gotten too used to this life of leisure.

Catherine Rose - Congrats to your grandson! What an achievement to even pursue and complete such a challenge, then to place, to boot! I suspect a sleepover with two little girls can feel a bit like a triathlon in itself , so congrats to you as well! Looking good on the scale. I haven't seen the mid-130's since 2015. I'd be so excited to see 136. You're giving me hope. Thank you for the well wishes, much appreciated. All is going great so far.

ange - Regarding updates, I hope you're patient. Doc said I won't really know the final FINAL results for 6 months. Right now, I'm very happy with the results. My scars on one side aren't that much better, maybe 30% (if even), but on the other side, there's a major improvement, more like 80%. And as a bonus, the rest of my skin looks really good from the treatment. However, my doc was a bit of a killjoy and said not to celebrate how my scars look yet. He advised that even though I don't look swollen, there's still some swelling in the skin, and swelling in itself makes scars look better. He said that won't completely go away for a month. So I'll let you know in a month!

Cattails - Congrats on the drop!

Ophelia - Thanks, I appreciate the well wishes! So far healing is coming along nicely! Your party sounded like a great time, and I'm so glad the scales weren't too much of a brat after. Barely a bump, very nice! Do you have any strategies for getting in so much water? You inspired me a while back to start drinking more, but when I "intuitively drink" , I seem to always end up at about the 70 oz mark, maybe 80-90 if I'd exercised.

Kim - Being busy can be so exhausting. I hope things slow down soon. Congrats on the drop!! I hope it sticks around, but even if it fluctuates, you're in that zone and will keep getting results.

kfunk - Thank you, I really hope I see the 130s again too! The 140s are a fine decade, objectively speaking, but personally they're my nemesis and I loathe them with every ounce of my being. That's just bc I've been stuck in them so long. Since 2016 when I started working to get this extra weight off that I gained from 2014-2016, I've only been "on plan" during the summers. Then I kept taking diet breaks during the rest of the year bc I was first focused on the final year of my master's (and recovering from anemia) and then I was focused on applying to doctoral programs. I'm determined to make exercise at my school's rec center a daily or near-daily occurrence this upcoming year. I don't drop weight unless I'm more active. It makes a huge difference for me, more than the numbers on paper would suggest. Good job with your BBQ selections and honoring your eating window! Do you do IF? When's your usual eating window? I'm so sorry you've had bad news. I hope that in time you feel in a place to celebrate your extraordinary weight loss.

Lacerta - Thank you! I completely agree with you - "You can lose it back after, but you only have one chance to feed your body while healing." That's how I've been looking at it. So far, I'm really liking the results. The researcher in me has been wishing I could've cloned myself and had the other me continue eating my typical calorie level and amount of protein to see if the results would've been the same either way, for curiosity's sake. Congrats on 25 down, that's a great achievement!!

Lacerta- Thank you, and nice drop!!

Ophelia- 100oz is still really good, especially on a day where you were not home! The lemon bars got me today and finally showed up on the scale.I also slept like crap so that might be partly to blame.I got stuck at 80 oz. yesterday, but getting in a full gallon should be easier today since I am at work.Your little bump up wasn’t bad at all, hooray!!I hope that you see it move down today!

Lunkah- UGH, I hope that you enjoy your last couple days off before you have to go back. You have so much going on with school; I would have probably gained a whole bunch of weight with all that added stress! It looks like you have a good exercise goal for the school year!!I keep telling myself that once I get to my original goal of 140 I will start to incorporate regular and consistent exercise.I hope that I will hold myself accountable!! I usually try to follow an 8 hour eating window 9:30-5:30 (but I drink my coffee with creamer around 7am), I hate eating later than 5:30 in the evenings, but sometimes it is unavoidable. When I have a party to go to I like to drastically shorten my eating window. On Saturday I had my coffee and then had eggs and salsa all around noon and then was completely done eating for the day by 4:30.Normally I would have omitted the eggs and just had the one meal for the day, but I was afraid that if I went too hungry I would eat too much.I think that after the weekend of the 4th is done and I am back to -100 I will feel very celebratory!!!

Kim- Good morning!I hope that your sale goes well this weekend!!

I had the hardest time falling asleep last night and once I finally did I tossed and turned all night.. not quite sure if my weight went up because of lack of proper sleep and less water yesterday, or if it was the BBQ catching up to me... ALSO... my TOM should be here today.

I hope that everyone has a great day!!

Quick drop in, hope to be back later for personals. Finally got my son off to training on Friday but it was a crazy day that led into working Friday night without sleep so needless to say no workouts for the past 3 days, but I am back on plan today. My eating wasn't off plan so I am guessing that's why I managed to drop to my lowest weight yet! Keep on going everyone!

ophelia: That's not bad at all. You'll be back down in no time

lunkah: Thanks. I totally get what you mean about wishing you could see the "with" and the "without". If we can't clone, then what about a Futurama style "what if" machine?

Kim: even with the slight bump, it is still a downward trend, which is the important part. Keep it up.

kfunk: I'm sure it is just a temporary bump, with all the contributing factors you listed. Fingers crossed tomorrow is back down for you

pands: I was missing you the last few days. Congrats on your new lowest weight. Hopefully life settles down a bit for you now.

Total Loss for Week Four:

I did some strength training this weekend along with my aerobic walking. I found out I can do a whopping 3 girlie pushups. I tried doing them before, but between breast and belly, it was awkward, plus, my wrists hurt too much, but hubby found a solution to both problems with a set of U shaped push up handles. They get me far enough off the ground that my curves are less of a problem, plus let me lock my wrists so my muscles do the work instead of my wrists. Going to add a few of those to my regimen a few times a week.

I got hit with the bump stick today too. Not a big surprise, because I really felt like I overate at dinner last night. Healthier food choices than I would have made before, just too large of portions. But it is a small bump, and I kept my 25 pound loss. I'm confident I will be down tomorrow.

Have to go into work for just a couple hours today, hopefully I can keep it to 3 hours max. It is supposed to be quite warm today, so I'm thinking about replacing my evening walk with an evening swim, if the pool at the gym isn't too full (which is not a sure thing).

Hi guys. I'm down a little over half a pound, which kinda surprised me. I haven't dropped my calories much yet--was in the 1500's the past two days, which is about maintenance for me--so I didn't expect the scale to move. I'm glad it's going down! Exercising the past few days probably helped, since I'd been a total sloth the prior week. It's a little frustrating that I'm basically at the weight where I started June, but that's just the way it goes with my circumstances this month.

Kim - TOM can be such a pest on the scale. I hope that bump dissipates soon and you get to continue enjoying new lows. Good luck with the sale!

Kfunk - I often gain after a restless night. Hopefully after a good night or two of sleep, you'll be back to your low. I think you were wise to eat eggs at noon on party day. Great strategy not to go to the party too hungry! I sometimes inadvertently fall into IF, but I've never formally done it. I think I'll give it a try on my days off. I like to experiment with different ways of eating every now and then. Regarding exericse, what makes it easiest for me to stick with it is picking things that aren't hard. I'll occasionally get really committed to a challenging DVD and see that through, but part of me dreads such intense workouts. I'm much better at sticking with something "easy" like walking (outside or treadmill) while listening to a podcast or music. Even something mild like that really makes a difference when done regularly and helps tremendously with maintaining a good weight. Both times when I've put on weight, it's been times in my life when my activity level dropped to 0. Maybe your commitment at 140 will be easier if you go for something with low intensity too.

momtopands - Congrats on the new low!! I'm happy for you that all that prep work for you son is over now.

Lacerta - I need to get those push up handles! I can't do many girlie push ups either. It's partly bc I have the upper body strength of a Cabbage Patch doll but it's also bc I have ridiculously weak wrists. I'm really excited to try out those handles to see if they help! I hope you're able to get in a swim tonight. That sounds lovely.

lunkah: The ones I'm using look similar to this: https://www.rubberbanditz.com/push-u...SABEgIMafD_BwE
But mine are metal, whereas those ones look plastic. From what I could find, you don't want plastic unless you are already a lighter person, as they tend to flex when under weight,
