GOOD MORNING TROOPS,

IT'S THE LAST DAY FOR LAST CHANCE WORKOUTS . . . well until next week . . . LOLOLOLOL

Ok, My neurotic scale is up 2+ pounds this AM, it's been pretty steady all week . . . so my mind is thinking and rethinking . . . too much sodium, too much exercise (possible, my legs are like bricks, AGAIN), not enough exercise to get rid of that excess H2O, not enough sleep, too much sleep, stress, not enough water, too much water, need a little more protein, more veggies . . . (or just the fact that my scale is a neurotic

OK, enough obsessing, time to kick some BUTT-er . . . and that the scale will return to normal in the morning . . .

Reso: biking under the influence . . . I'd be afraid to try that, I'd end up on the pavement

UrthWurm: in the twilight zone

SARGE: Garfield cartoon, toooooo funny, I have a nephew that used to do this to me . . . watch out for joyful . . . she determined not to fall on that leader board . . .

Peanut: Hope you're feeling better every day

Pokey: I have to find a boxing class around here, I'm sure they have them, just not sure when I'd fit it in . . . I guess I'll just have to find the time . . . besides the house doesn't really need to be clean Oh, try a nice hot bubble bath, then get hubby to give you a nice gentle massage . . . if nothing else, it will feel GOOD!!!

OK, fitocracy buffs, hard core minute girls, bikers drinking and any and everyone else . . . make this LAST DAY COUNT!!!

Morning, Platoon!

Thank you, EVERYONE, for the happy birthday wishes! You guys are so sweet! Chesh, yours is coming up, too, right?

Finished c25k week 8 this morning. Week 9 starts on Monday. This means that I actually completed every workout that I planned to this week. I am sore, I am tired, and I am looking forward to sleeping in a bit tomorrow, but I am really happy and that definitely outweighs everything else.

Reso -- This morning at the gym, an older gentleman hopped on the treadmill next to mine and kept looking over at me while I was running. I almost got a little excited, but he was no you. hehe

Josey -- Finished week 8. How did your run go? I keep sprinting at the end of the run, and today it really caught up to me. I thought I was going to throw up during my cool down, but I caught my breath and it was fine. I will not be trying to sprint ANY of w9d1, just a nice, steady 30 minute run. I hope Stampede Week was lots of fun and ends with a bang!

Good luck with last-chance workouts, everybody! And really, thank you again for all the birthday well wishes!

I took on the toughest 2 miles in town again...I am sure it will get easier one day. Scale was not as generous as I thought it might be today, that is ok, there is always tomorow.
I am going to the races tonight!!! My kids are so excited to see the cars. I am excited bc I discovered that you are allowed to bring a little cooler...meaning I can bring a HEALTHY dinner for me...the kids and hubby are already planning on junk food. I am pretty sure most people are excited about the coolers, since they can byob, I may bring a splash of skinny girl margaritta.

I promised to take the kids to the pool, so I need to go get ready. Have a great day.

K3 -- Thanks for making me run a 10K for fitocracy points today! I was sweating pinot all over the treadmill. Thank god for a/c & fans!

Envelope -- Way to tackle that hilly stretch! I was just noticing your ticker...almost 60lbs. lost already!

Anon-- I'm not sure Reso will take your excitement about the possibility of an "older gentleman" on the treadmill next to you might be him as a compliment. That's ok tho, he's got more than enough secret admirers on this thread!

Gooey -- I'll get out the sledge hammer for the scale of yours. I wouldn't worry about it tho...you've got that Warrior Dash coming up next weekend and you better think about doing some tapering this week. BTW, have you decided on a costume? Giant zucchinni, right? Also, who are your teammates?

Reso--I didn't think you were smashed while biking! However, I do find the concept appealing! Also like the concept of Reaffirmation Day. I'm pretty certain they could make another Terminator movie based on that title.

Sarge is feeling the need to cause some trouble today...don't exactly know how or where to direct that particular emotion...my family may be in for it.

One last thing troops...

Anon's encounter with a trainer at her gym yesterday got me to thinking about how a couple of people in the past have commented on how they hate going to the gym because they're afraid to work out in public and such. Here's an interesting link about one fellow seeking out a "fat friendly gym" and how he puts on his "FTW" face. I think we all should have a "FTW" face! Here's the link: http://www.bigandtallshorts.com/unca...friendly-gyms/

Sarge -- Hahaha! I consider any guy 35+ to be an older gentleman (unless he's leering and gross, then just older) so he really should!

And as far as the working out in public thing, when I first started going to my gym, I got those looks some, and felt somewhat judged by the mostly in shape crowd that frequents my gym. However, as I continued to go, even before I started really losing weight, just continuing to show up around the same time, multiple days a week seemed to earn respect around the gym. Now some of the same "regulars" who were downright unfriendly two months ago will stop and say hi, they smile and nod, and I seriously feel like part of the crowd. I'm not skinny yet, but they all know I'm working my butt off, just like them, trying to get there. However, in the short time I have even been going (9 weeks), I have seen a few other overweight people come into the gym, show up for a few days, and never return. So I think that some of the judgement we may be feeling when we initially start going to a gym is based more on the preconception that we are going to quit coming very soon rather than on our weight. So if any of you ARE concerned about going to a gym, I definitely encourage it, as the noticeable transition I felt going from outcast to "regular" reinforced my drive, but DO stick with it past the first two weeks-ish of snubbing that may occur.

Afternoon Platoon.

Lots of chatter, I read through it and it's all swirling around my brain.

I got in a 4 mile walk this morning across one of the bridges over the river. It was a nice view and fun to walk. New place score! (does that get me points on fitocracy....LOL)

Harry Potter was awesome! I think they did a good job, especially considering it's gets a little interesting at the end of the book. Now I have to read the whole series again. LOL.

Hey there Platoon, hope everyone's having a sweaty day!

Hit the gym early this morning, followed by a decent bike ride, so I felt good the rest of the day. I'm definitely feeling better being back to my routine.

Loved the post about the "FTW Face". My gym is pretty sparsely attended, at least during the hours I'm usually there, so I'm not really bothered at all. I did look around today and noticed that hardly anyone was sweating - maybe a light glisten, at the most. Now, after my workout, I look downright frightening - face beat red, hair all matted down to my head, and generally soaked - very attractive! But, I actually LIKE looking like that on my way out; makes me feel like I've accomplished something.

Would love to join the hardcore challenge. I don't think I'm really a contender yet, but you all will motivate me to keep trying!

celrae, take care of your PF. I suffer from time to time and it is NOT pleasant. I hate not being able to wear cute sandals during the hot weather, but I stick with my arch supports as much as possible. Makes a world of difference to me.

Congrats SMS and Me1stAllways! And envelope, I'm seriously impressed by your trek! I can go a long way on flat land, but throw a little hill at me and I'm done!

Looks like my internet is finally working right. Man that was frustrating. Anyway, I finally get to catch up on personals so some of this will seem like old news.

Envelope – Why did your hubby want to try a no electricity weekend anyway? Great job planning ahead to take cooler to the races. It can be hard to eat healthy when others around you are eating junk. Good job!

Dreamer – Way to break into the 260’s.

RMC – Welcome to the hardcore minutes challenge.

Celrae – Planter fasciitis is horrible. I have it too. Now I wear arch supports all the time to avoid flair ups. Whenever I injured it, I would take ibuprofen for the inflammation and just have to work through it. It always hurts the most when you first walk on it until you stretch the arch back out. Staying off it for prolonged periods actually makes it hurt more when you do walk on it. Hope you feel better soon.

Diyana – Walking against the current of the river is a very inventive way to get, low impact, resistance training in. Kudos!

Anon – Happy belated birthday. I know this is after the fact but the next time your friends want to celebrate maybe you could suggest something like bowling instead of drinking. As for the sh*tty trainer, I agree with Pokey. I think you should mention it to the manager. This trainer could easily be costing the owner business by running of patrons. I also like Urthworms notion of throwing it in his face. I would get my bf to show me how to do that technique and then make sure the trainer is around when you do some. Buuuhaha.

Joyful – Happy belated birthday

Budget – Hope you feel better soon.

Munchey – That was a great rewards list. I agree too that Sarge deserves a special reward.

Kuri – Way to plan ahead with the sack lunch. Hope you enjoyed the fair. And cake is my weakness so NO MORE CAKEPORN PLEASE.

Sarge - I love Bill and Ted’s excellent adventure! It is so,…………excellent!!!! Party on dude!

Hardcore ladies - I'm at 780 and going to go sneak in a little more.
