Dance-my mom is feeling better and adjusting to eating differently. She knows what she has to do. I am so thankful she went to the ER. I feel the same as you. I know I am not where I want to be yet, but I feel so much better about myself now than I did. I might be up a few lbs from ticker right now but I know I will get back down. It may not happen until after the holidays but I'll get back down. We all will. Sounds like the end of you year is gonna be pretty busy. Good luck with getting your reports done. Send your cleaning lady my way. My house has been neglected this week. Almost done with it though. The Challenge is going good. I took the wii to the boys house yesterday so I could do it last night. Its says to take a rest day today but I might go ahead and it do and take the rest day on Christmas. I did a little on wii fit plus last night too. I am pretty sore today. Chris keeps telling me to feel the burn(even just when I sit)
Vicky-I love my wii. Its keeps me moving. I love wii fit plus and I have Golds Gym Cardio Workout. I definitely recommend the EA Sports Active. There is a 2nd one out right now but didnt want to spend almost 100 bucks on it, so I got the 1st one. Boy am I sore from that one. I'll have to let you know what Chris got me for Christmas and let you know how I like them later.
I have to hit the grocery store today to get food for Christmas day. My SIL and kids are coming over. She is making indian tacos so I need something that kinda goes with that. I am making loads of veggies.
Has anyone heard of Gabriel Iglesias, the comedian? We are going to see him on the 29th. I cant wait. He is hilarious. Look him up if you havent seen him.

burgundy - indian tacos sound so yummy but I've never tried them. There's an indian (american indian) place here in Denver with fry-bread tacos but we haven't been to check it out yet. Any recommendations? I think they have a bunch of different fillings and toppings (chipotle style). You are such a trooper getting your workouts in with your wii - good for you!
Just got back from my run - well, part walk part run as I had a phone call to finish up. Tomorrow should be all run again though. The exercise seems to have helped a bit with my mood which was not great before but is at least a bit better now.
Dance-yep fry bread tacos. They are so good but the bread part isnt so healthy. I usually only have half a piece of bread and load it with veggies a little meat, a little cheese and lf sour cream and salsa. I think I am going to make ground turkey to put on mine.
Got my workout in. It moved my rest day to tomorrow, but I am gonna workout tomorrow too. Hopefully it moves the rest day to Christmas.
Vicky-where exactly was your back pain? I have been having pain when I sit for the last month or so right at the base of my spine(tail bone I guess, I think its called the coccyx) I have to shift around a lot when I am sitting. Now sometimes when I walk and put weight on the right leg it hurts. Guess I might have to see a doc. I have been putting a heating pad on it. It helps some.
Allison: that is where my pain started as well, but keep in mind I have a generative condition. Question, do you sleep on your stomach or back? When I sleep on my stomach, I tend to get the lower backpain in the tailbone area. How long has it been going on? Does the pain shift?
I lived with the pain for quite a while, but don't recommend doing that. If it's truly painful and bothering you, the best thing you can do is see a doctor - igonring it can make it worse in the long run.
Today is pretty boring, went shopping like a nutjob with all the other last minute shoppers - even though I went to Super Walmart for groceries! Today is cleaning and wrapping gifts. Tomorrow is Christmas with my hubby's family and Sunday is Christmas with my family. Going to watch the volume of what I eat rather than what I eat. As long as I don't eat a lot, I can have a little of everything.
Vicky-I sleep on my stomach. I guess I will have to try another position. Sometime I sleep on my side. I've been trying to sleep on my back and lay on the heating pad. I've had this pain since before we went to Alabama but its been worse the last couple days. Guess I will make an appointment after the holidays. The pain does shift from left to right, right around the tailbone.
Cant believe you braved Walmart. I havent left the house today. I did all my cleaning. My house looks great now. We are going to venture out and look at christmas lights later tonight.

Hey girls - belated Merry Christmas to you all! Had a great christmas eve dinner at my parents' with my whole family and my bf. He and I started what I think will be a new xmas eve tradition for the two of us - long walk to a coffee place to do the crossword - nice for us to have time together and get a little gentle exercise. I tripped on my run earlier that day so the rest of the day was a little tougher than I would have liked and involved lots of bandaids but no permanent harm done. Christmas day was nice - went to my parents through lunchtime then headed to my bf's for our annual walk around the lake to feed the ducks. Watched a movie then went to bed early. Bliss. I wasn't good about food and ate some pastries for breakfast and ice cream pie after lunch but I'm back on plan as of today. How about you guys?

I ate way too much on Christmas but wasnt really worrying about it. I have been eating a lot better the last couple of days and have been working out everyday. Still up from ticker though. I thought about doing that Hollywood 48 hour miracle juice diet but read some reviews and think I have changed my mind. Just gonna stick to the old fashioned hard way.
Going to see Gabriel Iglesias tomorrow. My SIL backed out so now we have an extra ticket. Chris has some friends and relatives there on the reservation so maybe someone will want to go.
Need to get a workout in tonight and tomorrow might be a rest day unless I decide to use the gym at the motel. Depends on when the show is over.
My back is feeling a little better. I try not to sit for long periods of time and that helps. Heat helps too.
Hey girls...I had a WONDERFUL (sarcasm) Christmas.
I had a horrible head-cold starting last Thursday that I thought was a sinus infection, but when I went to the dr's they told me it was just a virus. Waste of money. So, I canceled all of my plans for Christmas (two parties and driving to Orlando and going to Seaworld and staying at a fancy hotel) cause I felt like crap and didn't want to get anyone sick (lots of old people). So it was a depressing Christmas, and to answer your question Dance, I had no cute clothes to wear for Christmas I REALLY need to go clothes shopping...I got tons of gift cards for Christmas, so hopefully I can make that happen soon.
Burgandy, those Wii games sound fun! The most active one we have bought lately is a karaoke game I get to torture my husband with my horrible singing. I hope your Mother is recovering well and feeling better....
Dance, I sure could have used your cleaning lady tonight. I spent nearly two hours doing dishes and laundry and straightening up. I have always said that as soon as I have extra money in the budget, I will get a cleaning lady because I HATE cleaning. Especially during busy times at work...I just want to come home an relax rather than worrying about all of the cleaning that needs to be done.
Maddiesmom...I am probably way behind on your back situation, but what is your current status on that? Are you able to be active like you were a few months ago? Back to training sessions?
Well girls, I am so excited for mid-January (more sarcasm) I am taking two Masters classes right smack dab during busy season. Luckily two of the girls I work with are going to be taking the classes with me, so that should make things a lot more bearable. I really don't want to get my Masters because I am so indecisive about my career path, but if I stay in the field for any length of time, a masters is basically required. Can't somebody just tell me what I need to do if I just tell them what I like to do? I feel like every week I think a different career sounds good for me...and none of them are the one I am currently in. Then on the other hand, I make an amazing salary for someone my age, in this economy, and in the smallish town I live in. So I should just be happy and not get bored...right? Sorry...that was a random tangent.

tifftiff - aw, honey! So sorry about your not-so-wonderful christmas! Being sick over the holidays really really sucks. And you must have been bummed about canceling all your plans. And cleaning is no fun - I'm crazy busy at work these days and I'm trying to make sure things are okay when I leave the house so I can be less stressed when I come home (put dishes in dishwasher, take garbage out before I leave in the morning, that kind of stuff) but I find it really hard to stay on top of. Let me know if you crack the code and figure things out.
Up early this morning and heading off to work. Two more reports (halfway done) to finish and my old job is done! Can't wait to have that extra time back. Am planning on working from home this afternoon after my meetings are over and will try to sneak in a run while it's still warm out here. I think we're getting a cold snap over night that will bring us to single digits so I have to get outside while I still can. I'm looking forward to the day off on Friday - meeting some girlfriends for a long gossipy lunch then bringing my bf's dangerous margaritas over to some friends after their kids go to bed for some grownup time. First big snowstorm of the year (late start) is happening - went by costco and got lots of fruit and healthy stuff. how are you all doing? I'm feeling seriously unskinny - need to get back in gear!!

Dance-my back feels ok as long as I dont sit for a long time. Riding is the worst. It was warmer here yesterday and today so we got rain that melted the snow so now we have ice, yuck.
We went to the comedy show on Wednesday night. It was amazing. I laughed so much I had a headache and my neck hurt. I would love to see him live again. We decided to stay 2 night instead of just one since Chris got such an amazing discount. Gambled a little and didnt win a thing. The little get away was great, but eating was HORRIBLE. I am afraid to weigh in the morning. I seriously need to get back on plan. I want to come to the end of the losing part and get to maintaining already. Time to head to the grocery store tomorrow.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!! HOPE YOU HAVE FUN PLANS. Our get away was our new years party. Staying in tonight and enjoying each others company(unless I go to bed early)
PS.........If I have the courage, I may change my ticker to my weight right now(in the morning) so I can start the new year and get this weight off!!!!!

I had really bad morning. Ate 1700 calories for BREAKFAST. I knew it was bad as I was eating it, but I didn't think it was that bad...Once I got home and input it into ************, and saw how many calories, it knocked some sense into me and I haven't eaten anything the rest of the day. I think that was my quickest recovery ever. Usually when I do bad, it lasts at least a few meals. Maybe I am truly recovering finally. Plus, I think the only reason I did it was because I was up 2 lbs from yesterday for no explainable reason. I still can't accept bad scale numbers when I don't deserve them. Without fail, I always have a bad meal or day once I see an increase in weight when I have been POP. It is actually TOM, so I always lose during TOM, so I should have been down today instead of up.

Okay, this is no fun at all but I'm going to follow burgundy's idea of updating my ticker to actual weight. I was horrified to get on the scale yesterday after not having been on it in way too long and realize that I'm up 10lbs from my low from back sometime in the summer. Major bummer. But, at least I'm doing something about it now. Part of it was the holidays, part was a demanding new job that is messing with my food and exercise schedule but that's just how life goes. New plan is 1500cals/day with one out to eat meal on the weekends that is allowed to push me over the daily limit and 30 mins of walking or better 5x/wk. That should be totally doable. I have my workout room all cleaned out and am planning to catch up on tv shows while I walk instead of vegging on the couch. It's depressing to have to up my ticker like that but it's what I need to do. I've also modified my end goal back to 160. If I can get to 160 and stay there, I think I will be really happy. It's a few pounds shy of a normal BMI but that's not my main focus. Gotta run to a meeting but will be back to post more later today...
