Dance-that awesome your suit fits now. Glad i could be a motivator. The Jillian workout was actually a DS game. Hard to see and follow along off the little screen but it will be good for when we go to motels. Im ready to get outside and try those intervals.

Marmalade-I keep checking around for used ones. Hopefully I can find one. I havent checked kijiji yet. I am always cleaning and organizing. My husband always jokes that I am on something cos I dont ever sit long but I just like to stay occupied.

Jacki-glad you are back. Its understandable to be off plans in trying times but you will get right back to it.

Yesterday I wasnt exactly on plan but wasnt too bad. Today was a lot better. I got in a 2 mile walk. Still want to workout again before bed.

B: oatmeal
L: salad and sirloin steak
D: small bowl of potato soup
S: peaches and pears

Not the best food day but I had the boys and ate what they ate. I guess my days of keeping them now will slow down, their grandma is back from Canada and she always goes and gets them. She does have a job keeping an elderly lady so we will see how it goes.

Hope everyone had a great day.

Burgundy - what will you focus on with your extra free time if you have the boys less? Not quite yardwork season yet - maybe even more workouts? Sounds like you are doing great with your eating plan - keep up the good work.

Got hungry again after dinner last night - hate it when that happens! Doing well so far today - am planning on chicken-stirfry with brown rice for lunch and healthy asian for dinner with my sister. I'm going to work from home this afternoon so may even get in a run if the weather cooperates.

Happy Friday, girls!

So food for today
B: blueberry muffin oatmeal
L: Lean cuisine lasagna and banana
D: boca burger on 35 cal bread with onion, gr. pepper, lettuce and jalapeno mustard and sweet potato fries(sprinkled with chili powder and cinnamon)
S: cantaloupe

Oh Dance, the jalapeno mustard is awesome. The boys mom had some and I tried it and LOVE IT now. There is 80 mg of sodium in 1 tsp though.

Hey ladies,

Yes, it's me again, sorry I'm behind (again). Life has been crazy yet again, what can I say? So, get ready for a REALLY long post...

Jackie: So sorry for your loss , that's hard to go through. Hope you are getting back on plan, it's hard when you are going through something that is so stressful.

Dance: Hooray for your suit fitting! Isn't that the best feeling?? Being on plan certainly paid off for you! How are your runs going? Any problems with your knees?

Burgundy: Yipee! back on plan and losing again! So proud of you! I'm sure you will find ways to keep yourself busy when not having the boys. Even though I'm sure they can give you a great workout as well.

Marmalade: How do you live in such cold weather? I'm in Chicago and I deal with cold temps, but not that cold! Wow! You are my workout hero - you just keep going and going like the energizer bunny!

So here's my story...

Work has been stressful, the person who is supposed to train me is a horrible trainer and I've told my boss that I'm pretty much learning everything on my own. He's thrown me in the midst of a bunch of projects that require a lot of my time. He's newer to his role and he's not sure exactly what I'm supposed to be doing either (i.e.: he's no help), and the one person who could help is on materity leave for the next 12 weeks! Ugh. I'll get through it, it's just taking awhile. My boss understands, but I'm not a fan of not knowing what I am doing...

Still doing the Paleo diet, it's getting pretty easy to get used to, but I do miss my bread and cheese! My indulgence has been low fat frozen yogurt (it's TOM), but I need to stop that as well! I had it 3 times last week. Always low fat, but I know I don't need it. I've been eating a ton of fresh produce and lean meats. Weigh in is tomorrow and I'm hoping for something good. We'll see, I know I'm building muscle.

So, I worked out with Jeff 3 times last week (M, W, and Friday) and then I went running on Tuesday. Not too far, didn't want to injure myself, but it felt good! My OMG moment happened on Monday when I did sit ups for the first time since surgery without any pain. (I usually do crunches!) Then, I had to do 100 squats with a bar over my head for time, and I was racing against a teenage football player - and guess what - he only beat me by 1 second. Not too shabby! I spoke with Jeff and we're going to work out together 3 times a week and then he'll give me workouts for the other days.

Didn't work out today, but will tomorrow, so that's 5 times in a week. I am finally starting to feel like my pre-surgery self, which feels great. I guess that herniated disc was what caused all my problems all along. So, I'm feeling good - other than the fact that I'm still fighting this cold / sore throat. I'm working out despite it, I am refusing my body to get sick. That's see how long that lasts.

Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!

Food for today
B: english muffin with all natural peanut butter and 1 strip of bacon
L: 80 cal eggroll and strawberries
D: salad w/onion, green pepper, LF cheese and garlic vinagrette and kielbasa(not the best choice!!!!!!)

Worked out earlier, gonna do some more later. We got 5 or 6 inches of snow last night so didnt get outside. I want to walk out there so bad. I am over winter!!

burgundy - way to go!! you rock!! You skinny thing, I'm so impressed!

maddiesmom - ugh - sorry about the work challenges, I know you'll come through it with your usual panache I'm so very wowed by your sticking to paleo - seriously, you are a strong-willed chica.

Ran with two friends this morning and knee is still holding up. Food has been a bit of a mixed bag - not doing that great sticking to plan but will get back on board tomorrow.

Hope you guys are doing well...

Allison: Great job on the loss!! So jealous!! Keep it up!

Dance: Great to hear that your knees are holding up for your running. You will get back on plan with your eating, it takes time. Paleo has been good.

Yesterday, didn't lose anything, not sure why - probably all the working out. i'm ok with it though. Got Maddie's haircut and ended up having chinese at the mall yesterday. Not the best, but what can you do? One splurge. Back on plan today.

Working out with Jeff tonight again. Going M,W, Friday. Running on the alternate days. Starting to get into the 40's so it's not super cold for running. At least, that's what I'm planning on doing.

ETA:

Just found out that I probably won't be able to run tomorrow. The place that cut Madeline's hair cut it crooked, so now I have to take her back to have it fixed. Not sure how they could have messed that up - it was a place the specialized in kids cuts. Oh well. Another trip to the mall!

How is everyone else? On plan? Feeling good?

Maddiesmom I am so in awe that you can stick to paleo, deal with all the struggles at work, and get in 5 workouts a week you are seriously an inspiration!

My weekend started out good dropped 2lbs after TOM We splurged on dinner last night, it got late and we got busy so we ordered in..oh well what can you do? Today food wise is good but the day is kind of sucky Woke up to a near flat tire so I'm hanging out at home waiting for the tire to get fixed. On the plus side walked 1 mile taking my son to school and .5 mile walking home after I dropped the suv off at the shop. So I'll get in another 1.5 mile when I pick up Ethan and the suv. It was -22 this morning so it was a cold 1.5mile but it has warmed up to -12 whoo

Dance I'm kinda so/so on food this last little while too. Not sure what's going on with that but I'm getting tired of working out extra to burn off extra calories haha For a while there last month I was doing really well. Oh well today was good so there's that

It's cold out!! maddiesmom you need layers lots and lots of layers for this nasty weather I grew up here so I'm pretty used to it, actually I think it's gotten warmer over the years haha still kinda sucks in the moment though. Finally home have the suv and all is good again
I did ended up getting in 2.5mile walk this morning/afternoon legs are feeling a tiny bit tired. I think I'll get in some just dance 2 with ethan & biggest Loser DVD after I put him to bed. Feeling pretty good today, had a nice lazy forced day off haha didn't really get much done other than walking & had a nap this morning hehe

Just wanted to say to all ya'll for your encouraging words & stories it really helped me stay on track I can't believe I'm down 20 pounds & I can't wait to be down another 20!! That'll put me 1 pound less than I was when Rick & I got married almost 2yrs ago...I'm trying really hard to focus on the progress & not the fact that I gained 40 pounds in 2 yrs yuck that's so much worse then I thought...jeepers
HAPPY MONDAY!!

Dance-thanks!! I was super excited to see 187 again. Glad your knee is doing ok and you are able to get runs in.

Vicky-look what you have lost over the past few weeks, you are doing great. Sucks you have to go back to get maddies hair fixed. My red streaks are fading fast and its only been 3 weeks. I thought about going back and having them redo them but dont want to sit there another 4 hours. Its not so cold here now, it was in the 30s today. Im finally able to get out for some walks but the roads are so icy right now.

Marmalade-yay for your 2 lbs, 20 lbs is great. How can you walk in such cold weather. I hate walking here and its not near that cold.

Still doing with good food and exercise. I havent worked out today but am gonna get up and do something, not sure what yet. I have the boys tomorrow. Gotta go over around midnight and should be home around 7pm tomorrow.

Food for today.
B: english muffin with peanut butter, banana
L: 6" subway club with baked lays
D: broiled haddock, side salad and lemon rice soup

I probably couldve lived without the soup but its just so good. Hope everyones week started off good.

Well, my day ended on a pleasant note. Went and worked out - Jeff had to leave early, but he wrote a workout for me. Here it is in case anyone wants to try!

warm up:
20 pushups
20 mountain climbers
20 knee ups (hanging from bar, lift knees to chest)
20 crunches

workout (5 sets)
30 yard walking lunge
30 box jumps
20 squats
10 pull ups
I finished in 20:22, not too shabby.

Endurance: (3 rounds)
1 legged squat for 1 min
Plank hold for 1 min
hip stretches for 1 min

Feeling good after doing it all. It's really feeling great that I'm able to do the workouts without pain. I've been waiting 4 months for this! Feels good to finally be there.

So people at work have begun to get on the weightloss/work out kick with me, which is great, but then these same people complain when they can't lose - yet these same people will snack on brownies, eat complete garbage and then work out 2 times a week and wonder why they can't lose. Even better, my one of my closest friends (who I also work with) was giving me a hard time for having low fat frozen yogurt, yet she'll eat girl scout cookies and a brownie and then judge me for not saying no to FAT FREE frozen yogurt? Kinda makes me mad. I know I don't have the willpower that I did at this time last year, but I've come a long way. I guess I just don't get some people.

Does that happen to anyone else?

Burgundy sorry about your hair I saw the pics on fb it was a nice color. Red is a really hard color to keep. I have to wash my hair in cold water every shower, I clip it up and crank the hot water after haha who wants a cold shower?? It works though I have decided I prefer walking form the house to the suv no vehicle today so forced exercise haha I mapped it & Ethans school is exactly .5mile away so I am going to try and used that as a way to get in extra workouts...during nicer weather though!

Maddiesmom how is maddie with her hair? Ethan had a bad haircut a year ago & he was so upset, he'd scream at the mention of another it took nearly 4 mths.
People are weird & a pain I totally agree. You have to allow yourself a guilty pleasure every now & then or you'll go nuts..that's my theory at least. Don't feel too bad even if you think you indulged a little too much, you are aware of it now right? That's all that matters & besides you could have been eating the cookie & brownies too but you picked a "better" option. It's hard to not let it get you down but you seem to be doing really well so who cares It's so much easier to find fault in others than acknowledge it in yourself.

Well I finished the night with 40mins just sweat and 30mins biggest loser dvd then 15mins of abs/back. Tired now so shower and bed for me have an early day tomorrow.
