Everyone is doing so well! And it's awesome to see new people taking up the challenge!

I started a 10K training program this week. Not that I really have a goal of running a 10K any time soon, but because it's a program that seems totally doable. Three days of 2 or 3 mile runs (increasing to 4 or 5 miles by the end of the program). AND three days of cross training and strength training, which I didn't do while doing C25K. The additional exercise definitely makes those 2 mile runs seem like more of a challenge! Woah.

I'm so glad tomorrow is a rest day!

Keep us updated, Rochester!

My iPod died on me a minute and a half into W2S2 today. :-( I don't trust myself to count it on my own, so I am going to do it tomorrow since I'm going to a football game tonight. I just did a brisk 20 minute walk around my neighborhood this morning since I was already out.

envelope- that's awesome that you can do a 5K with your son. It really shows that you're setting a good example for him when you can do this together!

Rochester- glad you found a new program that works for you. How many weeks does the whole program last?

Well, I skipped Tuesday which I had not originally intended, but I did W2D3 last night. I was really mad at my husband, so I used that as motivation and even with doubling the intervals, that run went pretty fast, and was pretty intense. I had calmed down a ton by the end of the run. One thing that I love about this program is that it gives me some time to just think while I'm running.

FINALLY. I sucked it up and did w6 d3. That 25 minutes has been weighing heavily on me. I made it so I couldn't stare at the timer on the treadmill or my c25k app on my iphone, and that helped a lot. I've been dreading it and even repeated the rest of week 6, and it ended up not being bad at all.

It's an 8 week program...here's the link.

Tomorrow is a cross training day and I'm going to try a Jillian Michaels DVD. I did it once before and I couldn't walk for 3 days! Hopefully I'm in better shape this time.

Happy running everybody!

Great job Bacos, I'm so scared of getting to those weeks where I have to run nonstop...

Thanks for the link, Rochester, I'll check it out. Nothing like planning WAAAAY ahead!

I did a Walk away the pounds video yesterday and repeated W2D3. Not bad, though I was pretty sweaty afterwards (and during). Today I bought a sweatband so I don't have to worry about wiping myself down all the time while running. I put it on and my youngest son, who is 1, just started laughing at me. I guess that means I look funny in it! Anyway, tonight I'm going to do another repeat of W2D3, hopefully double it but we'll see. Oh, and I have a running related NSV that you gals can probably appreciate. I was putting lotion on my legs after a shower the other day, and I stopped on my calf. I was like "What is this?" You know what it was? Definition!!! I can actually already FEEL the way the muscles in my legs are starting to change due in large part to this program. I cheated too and pulled out the tape measure (I was only going to take measurements once a month) and I have lost inches in many places. Well, that's my victory.

Oh no, I hate posting right after myself! I didn't run last night because I ate cookies instead. Good idea, huh? Thankfully my husband took the little one to the store with him this am, and my older son can entertain himself for a while, so I ran this am. I did one cycle of W2 and then a cycle of W3D1, though I thought it was 3 intervals instead of 2, so I did a little more than needed. I was really proud of myself for running for 3 minutes straight, and I didn't even feel like I was dying afterwards. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't easy, but I feel like I probably could have gone a little longer if I needed to. That makes some of these 5 minute jogs in W4 seem a little more approachable, especially since I have a whole week before I get to those. I'm really loving this running thing, I don't want to stop! Hope you're all having a nice weekend!

I did not wake up early enough to go run this morning, so I went this afternoon. I went on a route to get some hills in and then I just kept going and going! I walked for 5 min, jogged for 42 min took a potty break (I guess I was over hydrated) for 2 min, then jogged for another 18 min. I jogged a total of 60 min!!! I am feeling it in my legs, but I did it.

dudesmom - Sounds like a good session!

envelope - Wow 60 minutes!! That's great!

I just finished W1D3, so yay! I am a little nervous about upping it, because at towards the end I was looking forward to the end of the 60 seconds. Oh well - if I need to slow it down, that's OK too. I love it though - I'm looking for a 5K to sign up for so I can have some real concrete motivation!

I just finished w3 d1.
I didn't sweat as much as w2d1. haha. I think my tolerance has gone up quite a bit. I can actually jogging (yes i've been jogging instead of running cuz i know i can't run fast from beginning so i just want to up my tolerance and increasing slowly) for 3 minutes instead of dying after 1 minute. Sweet.
I'll try w4d1 next day since w3 d1 i feel very easy. If i couldn't handle it then i'll revert back to w3. I'm quite happy.

Get out of my head! I definitely noticed that I didn't sweat as much doing W3D1, and was considering trying W4D1, because W3 just seemed to "easy". I think I will follow your lead, try W4 and if it's too hard, drop back to W3. I don't know if I'll try it today since we're going out of town to visit family, but maybe I'll need it when we get home! Can't wait to hear how it goes for you.

Everyone's doing fantastic! I love reading this thread.

I've got a 3-mile run on the schedule doing today but I'm procrastinating because it's really cold outside (42 degrees). I'm not ready for Snow Baby running yet! It's supposed to warm up to the mid-70s by afternoon, so I guess I'll go then.

Happy running all!
