hello eveyone just a quick hello, I just had to tell all of you I have maintained my loss I am officially down to 212.5 finally broke that 213 mark. I don't remember the last time I was under that I can't wait to get down to the 210 my weight loss has been so very slow for me so I am hoping and praying that now that I have made all these changes with the meal planing that it is going to do the trick keep your fingers crossed for me. :)

So, first think on the agenda for tomorrow is buying that new scale. I have NO idea how well or poorly my weight is doing because it's bouncing so much. I got on it several times in a row this morning and everytime got a different number - spanning over 5 lbs! So, once I get the new scale, I'm going to go with that as my new official number and revise my February goals based on that.

I have a lot of catch up reading to do but just wanted to pop in and say hello. I have not been doing well (staying OP but no losses) not sure but I really have to rethink what I am doing. It was November that last time I saw some sort of significent losses. Heres hoping I can still do the 5lbs I put down for the monthly goal. Hope you are all doing great. |
My loss is staying under 270 so it seems I hit goal already! That's what happens when a plateau lifts I guess. Due to the meds I'm on I am not going to adjust my goal because I have no idea what will happen with my weigh til I am off the meds.

I'm having a decent day here. Have the van in for repair so I'm in a loaner car for the afternoon. Wasn't expecting to have time to come home, but errands went quick so here I am. Weight is the same, but I've been eating "maintenance" cals, so no shocker there. I did finally plan some (supper) meals, so I have that much taken care of. I have snacked on goodies here and there still, but not enough to have a negative impact. Just enough to keep my weight steady. It's SLOWLY getting better as I remind myself to get in more fruits and veggies, etc. mystical-Yay on getting under 213. I know every little bit counts when the losses are slow. Keep on making those adjustments and things will click. Only 2.5 more pounds to 210 and the edge of a new decade!! Gekster-Woo Hoo on reaching goal already! I hope the meds don't have too much effect on the water weight. Even if so, it'll go away once you're done, so don't sweat it. Bigmid-Best of luck in your examining your efforts. It's always a challenge to see what we could be doing differently to improve results. eclipse-Let me know if you want to change anything on the goals list once you get your new scale. I was just about to re-post it, but I can edit it any time. DixieMae-I got that crockpot cookbook at Barnes and Noble or Borders bookstore. I can't recall which one. I really like that I got the spiral-bound one, so it lays flat. |

Gekster - I am sorry that your illness was worse than you thought. Take care of yourself. Try not to worry too much about the steroids. Even if you do gain, it is important to get well and then you can take it right back off. Congrats on goal! Well, the scale is finally going in the right direction for me again. I’m mad that I have to fight off 4 pounds that I had already battled with, but I’ll get there. I think part of my problem is that I’m not eating enough. I am going to work on keeping my deficit closer to 1000 for a while and see if it helps. According to my BB program I am supposed to eat 1650 a day, I have to push really hard most days to get up to 1200, so I’m not sure how I’m going to get all this food in, but I’m going to try. |

How great to be able to set new mini goals that you can achieve, and you'll be able to see differences right away, which will motivate you to keep going. Can't wait to hear more. Ain't it a beeotch when you realize that you're the only one saying, "um, no, you can't do that"?! SG: almost there...are you there? What a happy ending! Will you be ditching us for the maintenance forum? ;) Dixiemae: new skinny pants--yay! Keep up the good work! idream: I have some sort of illness landshark knocking on my door too, but I am NOT going to open that door, even if it is saying "Candygram" Mystical: Good for you! That new meal plan is going to make it a cinch--maybe you'll even hit onederland before that 30 day menu is up...you'll at least be within sight of it, so yippee! BTW, DH and I made a giant batch of Jane Brody's Vegetable Chili Con Carne. It is our fave, and pretty low cal and healthy, for such a hearty, filling meal. It freezes well too so you can make a big pot of it. You can find it online if you google the name. Bigmid: you'll be so close to onederland if you can make goal--that was pretty good motivation for me at the beginning of the month. We're not even halfway through February, so give it your best--you just might surprise yourself. Gekster: Go goal! Try some mind over matter in regards to the meds making you put on weight, and just get yourself healthy. eclipse: I just went through the same scale issues and I love my new scale (even if it isn't as generous as I'd like it to be). FGG: Although I can't really relate to not being able to able to get all my calories in (lol), I can suggest oatmeal, and dried fruit and nuts as possible snacks or meals that will add good calories. Also, I've really been enjoying cooked wheat berries added into salads, yogurt or soups. Beans are a good calorie addition too. Isn't it depressing to have your body stall out when it should be burning fat like mad? Hang in there and you'll figure out the secret to your ever-changing metabolism! So I'm at 199.0 today. It's making me a little nuts not to have it moving more, but when I consider that I'm 4 pounds into my 10 pound goal for the month, and we aren't halfway through the month, I realize I need to shut up. I'm just so obsessed with the whole food, exercise, weight thing, I am ready for time to move faster so I can just BE there already. The only other time I've wanted time to move more quickly was when I was in school. Somebody, please, just present the frying pan to the back of my head. |

And it goes a lil something like this................... Goal!!!! I weighed in this morning at 174.4, my usual Friday drop is back which means I'm back on track and back on my weight loss journey!!! I cannot believe I've done it! And LOUISAH??? I would never leave these girls! They're the BEST! I'm far from done losing... but I am officially moving to the calories/workout plan I'm gonna be using for maintenance. We'll see how much further I go! |

And you know I was only joking about leaving for the maintenance forum--I've only been here a month and a half and can tell this is the kind of group you can't leave for long! I also know this challenge will never end (ew, that's not a very pleasant thought. lol)!

Thanks to everyone I am feeling so good about myself can't believe I am still holding under 213 actually this morning it was 212.2 OMG I am just estatic over it.
Dietician comes tomorrow I am hoping she will be very pleased with the changes I have been making. I haven't lost all that much weight since I seen her last but I know I am feeling much better and I am making changes to our life everyday. Here is a list of all the recipe cards I have from my Dieticians of Canada cookbooks if anyone wants the recipes just let me know and I can send them to you. I do use Ground Turkey in place of the ground hamburger though. This is the first go around I am going to try and get more fish into this 30-day plan if anyone has any good fish recipes I would love them... I've been trying to figure out the whys of all the crazy eating I did over the holidays and the only conclusion I've come to is--I wanted to. Soooo lame, but there it is. No emotional connection, no rebellion or entitlement (well, maybe a little entitlement ;))--just plain ol' "I wanna eat that and I'm gunna!". :lol: I'm laughing about it but it really isn't a good thing is it? Nope. So here's what I'm planning on doing. See, I'm so all or nothing about weight loss and while that's good, it can backfire. So, I've decided that once every 2 weeks or so I'm going to have a day where I'm more lax. Not 'fall off the deep end and eat an entire pizza and a half gallon of ice cream for breakfast' kind of lax, but a 'Yes I'll eat some pancakes with my kids on Sunday' kinda lax. Perhaps, if I relax once in a while throughout the year, when the holidays come around I won't go so bonkers! :dizzy: Anyway, you're not alone hun!!! Miss you girlie! Today's workout kinda sucked though--the first part (legs & back) was fine, but the abs...OMG that was awful! I gotta say, I didn't have it in me. I was dog tired afterwards and couldn't make it through each set. :( It's killing me because I was making it through the entire workout before I quit exercising back in Dec. :( Sigh...I'll get back to where I was...I just wish it would happen NOW! Other than that, let's see...dr appts for my boys this week which led to more appts and I'm going to be busy next month with it all. Just hoping that all turns out well. Nothing extremely terrible, but troublesome none the less. Anyway...sun is shining and that's doing wonders for my mood! I love the snow, it's pretty and all, but I needed the sun! Speaking of snow though, thanks everyone for chiming in and making me feel better about the playing in the snow stuff--I feel a lot less like the World's Worst Mother. ;) Well girls, I need to finish my water, finish quilting something, clean up my kitchen and then I dunno what, but I gotta get off the computer! :lol: Hope everyone is having a fantastic day and if I don't catch you this weekend, have a wonderful Valentine's Day!!!
