Gekster - That’s a great NSV. Congrats on the good clothing finds.
Tummy - I will be sending you some good gym vibes so that your hip can heal quickly and you can get back in and do what you want to do. Congrats on the 2 lbs. Eclipse - Yay for the new low! I hear ya on the moving and yummy food causing weight gain. I moved to England and put on who knows how many with fish and chips and English breakfasts, then I came back to the U.S. and put on some more with all the yummy southern stuff I had missed for the 3.5 years I was gone. I can’t even imagine eating a fried twinkie at this point, lol. Nellonello - 600???? That’s what my bodybugg says I get in an hour of run/jog/walk on the treadmill and I bet Zumba is more fun. My gym offers it, I think I might have to try fitting it in sometimes. I’ve never done it, but it sounds interesting and fun. Ms. P - I’m sorry about your kitchen issues. Ya gotta love an electric skillet - so handy. Just remember, at least you are in YOUR kitchen and it will all be sorted out soon enough. Hubby and I need to save up to have some things done to our house. One of the ways I am helping is to work on cutting the food bills. To that end I decided to add 1-2 meatless dinners each week. Tonight I made black beans mixed with rice, tomatoes, corn, and bell peppers. The only problem was that I forgot plan some extra calories into my day prior to dinner. Now with dinner having been so much lower in calories than usual I had to rummage around and find a snack that sounded yummy since I was barely over 1000 calories for the day. I am currently having some quinoa with a bit of pesto to flavor it and will be following it with a banana. I don’t like having to eat when I’m not really hungry, but I know what I will feel like tomorrow if I have less than 1200 calories. Next time I will have to remember to up the calories during the day. |
Hi Chicklets, I find I have a comment about everyone's post, but by the time I get to the end, it's too overwhelming to try to remember everything and everyone. Thanks to those of you who are so good about acknowledging everyone--it's what makes us all feel part of this group!
nellonello: new pic looks great--your face looks so thin! Weddings are a great motivator to keep on track. And I think I'll have to check out Zumba--I've been reading so many people talk about it and I don't know the first thing about it. jellofer: swimming is so great. I remember being absolutely starving afterward--but also really feeling like I earned the next meal. I haven't done it for so long because I haven't wanted to put my fat butt in a swimsuit! But that will change this year. Maybe I'll become one of those icky, skinny girls who runs around in her swimsuit inappropriately-lol. That's great that your suit is too big--yeeha! MsP: Welcome home! I just got a new kitchen and bath, and can relate to cooking on an electric skillet, camp stove and toaster oven. Everyone asked why we didn't go out to eat more. Um, we're broke! I hear stone soup is pretty cheap, and filling;) eclipse: Congrats on the loss. It'll feel good to see that Mexican 30 drop off! SG: Beware the evil Chex Mix in the giant single-sized serving (the bag may say something like 35 servings, but we all know the truth of it)! Welcome everyone who joined today. We'll all help keep the motivation up! The SSS (stupid scale saga) continues. Finally decided to get a refund on the one that never shipped yet and ordered a new one from somewhere else. Now I don't even care anymore! I didn't exercise with my any of my new DVDs this morning because my foot is hurting and I got new shoes in hopes that they will help. Yikes, I sabotaged my program last July with torn cartilage in my knee, but will NOT let this stop me now; I'm way too far in and committed this time. |
Hi!
I didn't reach my January goal, but I sure will reach my February goal of 11 lb. I just have to work on my workout! from 234 lb to 223 lb |
Goooooooooooood Morning Chickies!!! :carrot:

So glad you're joining in again this month! Have your recovered from the holidays? Man, you were crazy busy I bet! Roxy~ You speak the truth!!! Amen! I know what I gotta do, I've just been lazy and really lacking the motivation. However, I'm back on track now and I'm not going anywhere! Only 3 days of good eating and exercise--oh, and drinking my water of course ;)--and I feel fanfreakin'tastic!! :carrot: Congrats on the fantastic loss!! New lows daily--that's AWESOME!! Woo hoo!!! You deserve to be proud to be you--you always have! Tummy~ congrats on the 2 lbs! You always have been able to drop that weight FAST! Dish! Congrats on the size 16's!!! I hope they shrink up for ya, but don't be surprised if you ditch those jeans soon and find yourself going back for the 14's!! :) jellofer~ oooh, vericose veins--ouchy! Listen, from what I've heard, getting them zapped (via laser) is covered by most insurance these days. I guess so long as they're causing your pain/discomfort your dr can refer you and you're good to go. My cousin has some removed a few years back. Hope you're not in too much pain over them! WTG training for a triathalon!!! I missed that while I was MIA. Nello~ oh you're going to lose that 25 lbs no problem!! I love a good motivator, nothing like it to get you to kick it up a notch huh? :) And you're more than welcome about the water! It's always the first thing to go when I start slacking--not entirely sure why, but it is. I feel soooo much better when I'm properly hydrated!! :D bigmomma~ here's to a great month! 8 lbs is totally doable! :) Good luck!! gtowngirl~ yup! 6 lbs is 6 lbs! :) Good luck on your goals this month!! Taurie~ good luck hun!! Loves2Cook~ :welcome: Slow loses are frustrating sometimes aren't they? Just keep up the great work!! shasha12~ :welcome: Good luck on your goals this month! MsP~ ugh...to be without appliances sucks!!! When we moved here we were lucky enough to have a stove and oven, but for 3 weeks we kept our food in ice chests and did our laundry at my ils house! I hope you get your stuff installed ASAP and that Friday come quickly so you can restock! You're doing great with your weight through all of this! I'd probably end up resorting to take out, so you're my hero!!! LouisaH~ sorry you're having so many problems with scales! I know I couldn't live without mine! Take it easy on your foot, foot problems can lead to major pain elsewhere--ugh! Good luck on your goals this month--sounds like nothing's going to stop you! :) Katz~ Good luck on your goals this month!! You can do it!!! :) Well girls, 3 days and going strong!! I feel so much better already! It's amazing how much better you feel when you eat right and exercise! Go figure! ;) Anyway, not much going on here, same ol' same ol', looking forward to another POP day! Okay girls, I better get going, let's get out there and have a fantastic day! :) |
I Dream~OHHHHHHHHHHH You are so inspiring!!!!!! When I ditch the jeans I will laugh and think of you :D The reason I have 2 birthdays is they messed up my birth certificates. I was really born 1-30 on the one filed in the court house. The one they gave Mom and Dad says 1-31. We always celebrated it on the 31st. Then I had to have a copy of my birth certificate for legal reasons. Got the certificate and cried. OHHHHH I was a bigger baby on the 30th by 2 oz :dizzy: Some one got messed up when they filed my certificate :o Thats the short version of the saga it was a mess getting it straightened out. Thats ok NC goofed my Moms certificate Says she was a boy. WRONG!
I went on a tangent yesterday. Did a long web search. Some 4-5 years ago there was a womans magizine that had an artical on an anti Christmas Binge diet fix. It had a wonderful smoothie recipe in it. I went in search of one like it. I found one. Now Im enjoying it for breakfast. I prob have one for lunch. I did the diet then and lost 5# in a week. Hoping to boost nutrition with this smoothie. It sure tastes good, but packed with vitamins and omega 3. Feb is a short month so gotta get very serious with my menus. I have labs on the 16th to check cholesterol levels. I want off this statin ASAP!!!! The scale goddess didnt budge this morning, sooooooooooooooooo..........as Sandye says drink my water then drink some more water. Pat |
Helloooo Chickies!
Wellll.... I wasn't completely OP yesterday as I had a big lunch but 1. I was starving come lunch time and I knew my lunch I packed wouldn't do it. And 2. I was being evaluated at work right after lunch and so I really didn't want hunger distracting me. Otherwise though.. I was a good girl. I even scaled my calories back a bit at dinner to compensate. Also, I managed to run a mile at my fastest pace ever yesterday and I was sooo pumped about it! Add that to shoveling my long driveway and I guess I got quite the work out yesterday! Woohoo! Tummy Man, sometimes I swear it really is calling my name and I actually have to talk to myself to NOT go with it! eclipse Way to go you! Congrats! Also, I can totally see why one might gain weight when moving to Mexico... I could eat eat and eat some more there! Dixiemae Congrats on the pants! OMG it's sooo exciting to drop sizes like that! nellonello Wow 600 calories in an hour. My mind jumps to what I could eat with that! Haha. Good luck on dropping the weight before the wedding! I know you can do it! MsP Wow, it sounds like you are sooo crazy busy! Good luck getting things in order and I hope your appliances are installed sooooon! I'd go nuts without a functional kitchen. jellofer WooHoo! Too big swimsuit! Doesn't that feel fantastic! Way to go you! Also, I hate vericose veins. They run thick in my family also and i'm dreading it. Good luck with yours! FitGirlyGirl Isn't it crazy how many more calories you get to play with when you don't eat meat? I'm telling ya, the longer I watch my calories, the more I love not eating meat... of course I didn't love it that much to begin with but still... such a huge chunk of calories for such smallll portions. LouisaH Haha, giant single-sized portion bags. OMG! I know exactly that you mean! My sister and I always joked how we could both essentially eat an entire bag in one sitting and not really be phased. That stuff is like crack! OMG, I hope you get a decent scale soon before you go out of your mind! Sandye I so love seeing your posts again. congrats on being back for 3 days and I love that you're feeling great again! Well girls, that's about it for me. I can tell ya I'm definitely going to be busting my butt to keep up with my exercise goal this month, which is fantastic, really... I needed the challenge for sure! I've got a ton of work to do so I'm off! |
Morning Ladies,
Just a quickie this morning, I'll hopefully be back tonight to do personals but you guessed it study time! Two more chapters to review and then I can get this test out of the way and empty my brain a bit. I think my hip is feeling better, it's still sore in the morning and before bed (yup, just like an old lady) but a bit better during the day. I have promised to not run on it until next week (scouts honor!) so that I give it plenty of time to see if it's going to improve or not. But down another pound today to 138's and onto day three of no unplanned food, still having some cravings though, four days later, this better go away by super bowl sunday, I need all my mojo for then. Catch ya later ladies. |
Superbowl!!! It's going to be hard to stay on track for that -- we always have a big party at our house and everyone has asked me if I'm making all the "usuals" this year...jalapeno poppers, 'tater skins, mozzarella sticks, wings, mini tacos, salsa and guacamole.
Whoa...typing it out makes me shiver...partly in disgust at the amount of food and partly in joy because oh, how I love me some 'tater skins :) |
Sandye - Congrats on 3 days OP. It does feel so much better.
Tummy- I have a friend who swears that belly dancing helped her bad hip. Maybe something to try, you can probably find some videos online. Nellonello - I went to Zumba today and I’m in love. My calorie burn wasn’t as high as yours, but it was still a very respectable 394 for 50 minutes. I figure I’ll get more next time when I don’t have to stop so much to figure out what we’re supposed to be doing. I can’t wait for Monday. I got a new record for my mile today 15:01. Still slow because I can’t run much more than a minute at a time yet, but it’s improvement and that’s what counts. I am totally insane - I did 50 minutes of zumba, then 60 on the treadmill, 30 on the bike, and came home and did a test to see how many push-ups I can do in a minute and how many sit-ups in a minute (19 and 20 - sucky, I know, but both were military style - ouch), followed by my ST program and 30 more crunches normal style. Ouch, but I’m about 100 calories from my daily burn goal and it’s not quite 5:00 yet. 180.6 on the scale this morning, another new low. Hopefully I can say goodbye to the 180s this week and hello to the weighing less than hubby who weighed in at 179.4 today. Y’all keep your fingers crossed for me. |
Hello there ladies!!!! 237.2 this am. A little off plan today, but I needed to get some calories in and had limited choices.
Idream congratulations . 3 days on the wagon is awesome. I am very proud of you!!!! :carrot: LouisaH Your SSS is totally understandable. I hate my scale right now also. I feel like it is testing me. Not a good feeling when you are all over the place all the time. I am not sure what the issue is for me. But It will come in time. I am sitting here typing in size 18 pants. Nice. :D Dixiemae Getting off the statins would be incredible! I know that you can do it. YOu are right, this is a short month. But that just makes the goal a sweeter victory. Shrinkinggirl Great way to make adjustments!!! :bravo: Tummy I can totally relate with your hip issues. You are correct in listening to your hip and letting it rest. I am proud of you for not letting that stiff feeling get the best of you though. Glad to hear that the massage felt wonderful. I know ( cause I am a few months away from being licensed as a therapist myself) that it may take more than one session to work things out. Keep me posted. Pokeycactus I love your screen name!!!! :woohoo: Superbowl/partyfood. That is one of my biggest weaknesses. We had a run of parties here and seems like I got rid of the weight as soon as I gained it. Best of luck. Just remember to come up with a great plan and stick to it. Fitgirlygirl That workout made me tired and all I did was read about it. I do love those days when I feel like I can keep going and going. Congrats on kicking exercises Butt!!!! :cheer3: So, after my first day in the pool I am sore!!! I also think that the training with the trainer had something to do with it. I go back to the doctor for another weigh in and measurements in a week. I need to get POP for something to happen. I want to show a loss. The competition at work is not going well. But alot of the people involved were not active at all. They have started walking and working out and have dropped pounds. I am only done 2. but in a way, I am 41 pounds ahead of them. So, I shall not worry. After my swim, trainer and biking yesterday :swim::ebike::wl: I had an epiphany of sorts. I am starting to understand how this whole science works. I will never claim to be an expert, but I am developing a better understanding. So I am going to put my new found theories to test and report back to you all. I have a headache now. I did eat and am hoping that that will help, but am not sure. Tried some dark chocolate and nuts, but that isn't even budging it. Next, tylenol. I know, hold me back. But I don't like to take much. Love and light to you all!!! |
Hey girls!!! Just a quick pop in to say hello!
Sandye - Welcome back girl! I hope you used Gorilla glue on that wagon seat! Ms. P - Yay for the move! Boo on the no appliances! A few more days and it'll all be better. Nello - LOVE the new pic!!!! I didnt' recognize you at first!!! SG - Yay on the treadmill!!! You are doing so great! Tummy - Study hard!! We need you to whip us all in to shape soon! FGG - Grats on teh new time! I have a hard time running too, so I know what ya mean. I think my last try on Monday was 15:43, so pretty close! Hold on a sec - you did all that in one day and you were off on your burn?? WOW! Jello - I'd love to hear your theories when you have time! Grats on teh swimsuit being too big! So I'm just trucking along. It's mass chaos around here because of drama with DH's ex & the custody of the kids. *sigh* It's so hard sometimes to stand by and not give her a piece of my mind. On to happier things though - DH and I leave Sunday for his reversal. Then we have to wait 10-14 days, then it's on to baby making!!! Wahoo!! I really wanted to be at goal before then, but such is life. At least I am healthier now and I have the will to stay healthy during a pregnancy. It might take a while to get PG after the reversal, so I might still have time. Well gotta run! *hugs* to all!!! |
I'm ready. I challenge myself to stay on program and lose 8 pounds this month.
February 1st - 209.8 March 1st - 202 Good luck everyone! |
I officially despise my scale. 238.4 this am. That is up 1 pound from yesterday. I don't get it anymore.
|
Goood Morning Chickies!!
Ugh. TOM has come to pay me a visit so I'm back up. I swear I will permanently lose this pound sooner or later! If I could just stop stress-eating I'd be great. Soooo, let's see... I'm retaining water and now have to REALLY watch what I eat so I don't fall back on that excuse and pig out. I've got a seriously busy night ahead of me.... straight from work to the chiropractor... from there to walmart so I can pick up some prescriptions and a bunch of stupid little junk I need... from there to home so I can run my 2 miles and somehow manage to shove dinner in my face... all before 6pm. I know, right? I'll still be sweaty when I show up for couples therapy.... not that I really care about showing up sweaty but it's only the second time the woman has met me and I don't want her to be thinking "geezus this girl kind of stinks." haha! Tummy I totally admire your willpower. I did BETTER yesterday but still ate some things not in the plan. Today is a new day. I. Will. Succeed. Good luck with the hip. I know mine sometimes kill me from my IT band getting all tight and wonky. It kills. pokeycactus man, I hear ya. I do love me some party food. I don't care how healthy I eat, when it comes to a party I seem to want all of the bad, bad things I can get. Stay strong and nibble a bit here and there but don't overdo it! FitGirlyGirl W-O-W Just reading all that you did yesterday makes me hurt! Way to go on the mile! I'm a slow runner myself but I'm getting faster. It just takes time! jellofer Work competitions... ugh. We have one every year here after the holidays to give people incentives to lose their holiday weight. I never participate... and I certainly didn't want to participate this year either. I was 40 lbs ahead of everyone else and I totally thought it wouldn't be fair. Not to mention most of those people wouldn't be losing weight the proper way. Not for me I tell ya. Good on ya though for continuing and giving it a shot. Just know you're going to kick all their butts in the long run!!! Nella WooHoo on the baby making! Here's hoping you have looooooots of fun with that! wink wink....nudge nudge. Okies, I think I'm caught up with the personals. Ladies...wish me luck. I need and OP day! |
Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooood Morning my dear chick-a-dees!!!! :D
Just a super quick post to say hello  and have a great day!!! :) It's been an insane morning over here and I need to get my workout in before lunch so I'll be back at lunch time to post personals and such!! Now get out there and have a superfantabulouscrazyawesome day!!!!! :D |
