Morning!
NightAngel - I totally agree, spring does make it easier, when we don't want to hibernate. And congrats on the belly, or lack thereof! It's so nice when we can see it ourselves, that's fantastic! Don`t let that damper your spirits, you`re doing great and some weeks are better than other. Tyla - That sounds like some nice support you have there, as long as it's moving in the right direction most of the time and it sure looks like that's the way you're going. Eclipse - :celebrate: on the milestone (not the back of course, that sucks) What an awesome way to start the day! FGG - I'm so proud of you, that's fantastic running. I totally agree, I think 9 times our of 10 we totally sell ourselves short about what our bodies can do. If we look back at those first few running attempts, it's almost laughable and the thought of a marathon or half marathon or even a 5K was enough to cause a heart attack, and now, not so much ;):hat:for that skirt, boo hiss, one size fits all, it's a lie, lol. Nella - Hope you`re doing good and dh is too ;) Bigmid - Howdy there, I agree, when the site or my internet is slow, I can`t be bothered since I`d rather poke out my eyes than wait for it to load. Hope you can come by more often. Nello - Great idea, enjoy the weather for the rest of us. Can`t wait for spring. It must be gorgeous hiking there. Another gorgeous day today, and another little run this afternoon. It`s getting easier everyday, day 2 felt better than day 1 and I went to the next telephone pole, lol. Gotta love the country, I measure runs in telephone poles. i`m in love with my GPS HRM though, I haven`t really been able to use it outside since dh got it for me but it actually tells you your pace and speed and ditance. It`s the most amazing little thing. it even has a computer program to analyze you heart rate and graphs and stuff (oh ya, I`m a total science geek so I`m jazzed!) Weight is hanging out the same , just below the 140`s which is fine and dandy with me especially since I`m eating maintenance calories and all. I think I`ve found my ideal range for staying the same. Oh and I have an anniversary today, it`s my two months at maintenance weight (135-140) I did blob up over Christmas but that`s one of those things I`ll have to learn to work around as the journey goes on. I`m pretty excited about it since I`ve never maintained anything for any period of time before, honestly not even a day, so two months is pretty brilliant. woohoo! |
Morning everyone so I decided to weigh my self this morning due to TOM coming soon and I am down 2lbs from last week.:carrot: now I only have to lose 2.9lb to make goal. Lets hope I can accomplish that by the 28th.
nellonello - the hike sounds nice and with the whole family it's ever better. NightAngle26 - it will come you can do it:) Tummygirl -:celebrate:Happy Anniversary!!!! 2 months of maintance that's awesome...Congratulations enjoy your run this afternoon. The distance between telephone poles can be huge so that's a great way to measure. What brand of HRM with GPS is it only good for running or will it measure all your activities throughout the day? Poking your eyes out rather than wait for it to load is excatly how I feel about slow internet...LOL Have a great day. |
FitGirlyGirl Ha! you're a member of the pony tail posse! I'm always so impressed with you runners! I have a congenital knee problem that makes running very difficult (even when I was 19 and got down to 115 lbs!), so running is really beyond my comprehension and awe inspiring. I'll have to stick to walking, but I'l chear you all on! :carrot:
Bigmid I hate slow technology! nellonello Hiking sounds like a lot of fun! NightAngel26 Aww. You'll get there. It might be later than you planned, but you;ll get there. Tummy Girl Whoo hoo on the maintaining! And the next telephone pole! Well, I know I posted about my weight yesterday, but I'm gonna do it again :dizzy:. Yesterday I was at 249.4. Saturday is the day I count as an official weigh in, though, so I was kinds worried I'd be back in the 250s this morning. NOPE! I'm down to 248.8! I started the week at 253.4 - so that's -4.6 for the week!:carrot: That's the biggest loss I've had in a week since I started taking my blood pressure meds back in September (I lost about 7 that week, 5 of it in two days or so, almost all of it via my bladder releasing retained water ). I've done a couple of things differently than I had been - I've increased my calories. Somewhere along the way in this weightloss journey, my appetite went on vacation. I was struggling to get in 1200 calories a day (I never thought I'd have that problem, but Wellbutrin makes me completely forget to eat). I added an extra snack of about 300 calories worth of nuts - high protein, high fat, high nutritional value - and it really seemed to give me a big boost. So, I've been eating around 1500 calories a day (even though the Daily Plate tells me I should be closer to 1900), and i guess my body responded to it. |
It's fantastic everyone is doing so well with their losses, and maintenance.
I had a rough month diet and exercise wise due to stress of exams. At one point I went up to 126, but now I'm down to an even 120. I couldn't be happier, even though I started the month at 121. I may not be at the goal I set for myself this month, but I'm still going to do my very best to. |
ok...
I'm seeing progress... this is good because now I've got 5lbs to go and it still seems like a lot in 7 days (I forgot this month was short for a bit there) .... but if I'm reeeally exercising and eating my balance I mgiht be able to pull it off... I know it might be too much but still.... :spin:

Morning Ladies,
Big Mid - it's a garmin and I use it just for the running but it has biking and multi sport settings on it as well but I find it's a bit bulky for activities that involve a lot of wrist/hand movement but it would work. I'm using my old one for strength training sessions and things. Congrats on those 2 lbs, that's fantastic! Eclipse - WooHooo! omg 4.6, that's just awesome. What a fantastic loss for the week. And thanks, I'm pretty excited about it too. Taurie - I'm glad you're hanging in there, I'm finding the small victories very meaningful now too, one pound is a lot at the end and losing 6 and getting back on track is marvelous too, WTG. NightAngel - How ever it turns out you'll be lighter either way and closer to where you want to be so you win! Another gorgeous weather day today but it's my day off so no running for me, and after 3 days in a row, regardless of it feeling good I'm going to take a day to make sure I don't overdo things. Tonight is canada vs usa olympic hockey so that will take a couple of hours to sit on the edge of my seat. Otherwise more studying and playing with dd. Have a great sunday ladies. |
Good morning everyone the sun is shining here right now so it's a good day.
Tummygirl - thanks for the info I will look up the garmin and see what it does. Taurie - WTG for getting to 120 exams can be very stressful NightAngel26 - you can do it or at least get very close to your goal. Well my weigh in from yesterday held so I am 2.9lbs away from goal for the month. I went shopping for elliptical trainer yesterday does anyone have one? do you like it? I can't do very long on one without the burn and I'm gunna die feeling. I did a 3 min program at the store and thought wow that's enough for me. I can do 40 min on a treadmill no problem. My mom has knee problems that's why she wants the elliptical but I'm not sure if it's something I will stick with. Any comments would be helpful. |
Bigmid- You're doing better than me so I'm not one to talk. But, speaking from past weight loss experiences, ellipticals are hard! They tend to hurt my knees (weird, I know) and back. I have a treadmill and it seems like the most sensible option because it can be inclined for more challenge and you can move your arms however you want to increase the cardio, and eventually even jog. But, that's just my two cents. Best of luck on choosing what's right for you!

So I slacked off on the exercise after starting so strong, but I'm getting back on track this week. However, I started experimenting with my calorie intake and decided to go for 1300 per day. So without much exercise, I dropped about five pounds! Adding the exercise back in, I'll put my range at 1300-1500 and see how that goes.
The plan was to be at 215 by the end of the month, but I dunno if I can drop another five pounds in a week. We'll see. |
To Everyone - Congrats on everyone achievements. This is all such hard but rewarding work. I love this website. This is the most motivated I have been in years because by Mar 1 I will be in the 60s (369). Thank you all so much. I really need this.
Tummy Girl --Thank you so much. I will ask you all for any and all help I need. To start can someone please tell me what TOM stands for. Can't seem to figure it out. Nella--Thank you for welcoming me. I am looking forward to getting to know you all. I appreciate the motivation this website and all of you bring. |
NightAngel and Roshomon - That's great progress! Either way your on track and you'll still make some loss by the end of the month.
TummyGirl - Thanks for the encouragement. Enjoy the game tonight! Bigmid - That's fantastic. You're so close to making your goal this month. It took me a while to get use to the elliptical. Now I love it. I have bad knees and get heel pain from running on the treadmill. At first 20 minutes was my maximum. Now I can spent 45+ on it. Most of the time I don't use the arm bits because I'm short and it's uncomfortable for me. But really, you should get what you'll get the most use out of. Good luck choosing! I made it through a family gathering today! There was super rich chicken stroganoff served for lunch (I'm sure it was absolutely delicious), cheese cake with cream, nuts, chips, profiteroles, a cheeseboard etc. My father in-law was nice enough to make me a separate dish of grilled chicken breast, roasted veg and green leaf salad (He insisted after my bf told him I was on detox). I snacked on fruit and carrots and stuck to plan. I'm so proud of myself! Every time there is a family gathering I end up eating all sorts of rich food, drinking loads of wine, and end up feeling disgustingly full, bloated and exhausted. Not this time!! |
Hi Everyone,
GTL100: TOM = everyone's best friend: Time Of the Month This group and this site are awesome, aren't they? It's amazing how great it is to have a bunch cheerleaders routing for you! We'll all enjoying watching your progress as you rack up lost pounds. eclipse!!: wow, see? all that worrying for nothing. It's crazy how the scale will stay the same for a week, and then poom, down nearly 5 pounds! Rock and roll, girl! Rashomon: If you dropped five pounds without much exercise, you may drop pretty quickly with exercise. Although, when I started adding in weights with my circuit training, I was noticing that my weight wasn't dropping much, but my body was sure changing, so keep that in mind. Bigmid: If you think you could stick with that elliptical, it could fun to work up to a good long workout, like Taurie did. Seeing your stamina and endurance increase is a great motivator! But like Taurie and ThinkinThin said, get what you think you will use the most in the long run. I have a treadmill I rarely use right now because I'm doing exercise videos, but I know I will be back on it in due time. Good luck with reaching goal for the month! TG: Good for you on two months of maintenance. Is it feeling like something you'll be able to do forever? Hope it just gets easier and easier--for my own future sake too! :) NightAngel: glad the scale is starting move at last! I'll cross my fingers for you that it keeps on trucking! Taurie: I can relate--family gatherings are not diet friendly! Good work and lucky you for having people who respect and care that you are working on a healthy diet, and will prepare a special meal for you. Nice! I had rough day of yesterday, with a memorial for my sister who died last month. We all prepared different foods she loved, or used to eat, and appallingly, it was tons of desserts. I. ate. them. all. Not tons, but half servings, and I loved every second of it. And I am going to eat some more tonight. I didn't exercise yesterday because I had no time, so I didn't get any spare calories to consume. That hurt, with all the sugar that was calling my name, but I went light on a few days for the previous week, so overall, I'm still on track. I exercised today, and am feeling pretty good. Sister and nephew in town until Tuesday, which means one more family gathering tomorrow night. Then life will be back to normal for a few weeks. Have a good Monday everyone. |
Hey all! Time got away from me this weekend, but our taxes are done (and my parents'), so that makes me happy! :D
All else is well, celebrating 1 year anniversary of buying our land on Saturday and a relaxing family day today. Weight is still hovering right around 135 and the running has been good. Tummy- I got in an outdoor run Friday which was great and my longest run yet (only a few miles). I've been slow to rebuild the endurance because I've struggled with shin splints in the past, so I have to be mindful of that. Otherwise, it's been fantastic! |
