February Weight Loss Challenge
Welcome to February!!
Hope to see everyone from our previous months and also any newcomers who may be joining us. All are welcome. Here's how it works: Just state your goal, whether it be a loss in pounds, inches, size, or even an intangible feeling! You need not state your weight if you feel uncomfortable, just your goal, even if that goal is to maintain or whatever the case may be. Though the thread is titled "weight loss" please bear in mind that the overall goal is toward a healthier us and so your goal may not revolve around weight loss, it may be maintenance, eating healthier, and/or kicking a soda habit...whatever the case may be. Note: We try to keep a members list with our goals and if/when those goals are met, we put red print and goal met next to our goals. Please don't feel bad if/when you may not reach a specific number, goal, etc. Always remember that making positive changes along the way (the journey) are wonderful accomplishments in and of themselves. Monthly weight loss challenge FAQ's Do we weigh in on a certain day and how frequently? No, we don't have a specific WI day and WI on the day we choose. When and how frequently we weigh in is a personal matter and specific to each of our own indivual needs. Do we need to post personals? Absolutely not. Sometimes we do and sometimes we don't . We are a large group and it is difficult to post personals sometimes. The time just does not exist sometimes. If you don't have time for personals it's okay.....post anyway. Is everyone on a specific plan? We all have various plans. Some of us are on WW, South Beach, our own plans, etc. Though we do believe in and follow the guideline of not going below 1,200 cals a day and along these lines also strive to follow the site guidelines. What day do we count our loss, the last day of the month or the first of the following month? Either way. Most people report their loss the last day of the month and if they have another loss that following morning (on the first) they either add it to the current months total loss or roll it over to the new month. Think of it as a bonus day. |
Wow February already time flies and soon spring will be here. I can hardly wait for the warmer weather to come, now I just need to get shorts ready.

Yay, month two for me! Since I'm still trying to procure a reliable, consistent and loving scale, I'm not actually sure if I reached my January goal, but since one of the two ne'er-do-well scales I have said 204.6, the other 203, I'm going with the more friendly one, and saying I made it. I will weigh in again tomorrow to confirm my starting weight for February, but I'm going with:
10 pounds Start: 203 Goal: 193 |
Edit: Well, as it seems I have reached a plateau and have been stuck here for about... 3 weeks now, with all changes in my weight being caused by water and sodium. I'm hoping that I can get out of this funk soon (I'm praying before February is over). I'll set my February goal with two possibilities
a. just stop plateauing (this is really messing with my plans) b. lose 5 lbs start: 170 goal: 165 |

As of this morning, I weighed 173 lb. I'm a REALLY slow loser, so my goal is to be in the 160s by the end of February. I look forward to getting to know you :) |
I'm in! My goals this month are to reach 131 lbs and to avoid the scale until 2/28... so I can focus on eating right and exercising without obsessing over numbers. :)

I'm going for an 8.6lb loss this month. My weight is 148.6 currently so I want to end February at 140lb or less.

Here's my goals: Lose at least 10 lbs (totally retaining water like mad!) Eat like a sane person (can you say junk food binges?!) DRINK MY WATER!!! (I know, can you even believe I need to yell at myself?!) Okay, so I've found my way back to the wagon (Thanks Tummy!) and I need you all to make sure I'm seat belted in, chained down--bust out the duct tape if you need to--just make sure I have my butt firmly planted and that I don't fall off! :lol: It's been 2 long months without eating healthy and working out--let's hope I didn't do too much damage to my metabolism and that my muscle forgive me for neglecting them! On with the new month! Let's make it a great one! |

Ok, so I'm super excited about Feb as I totally intend to hit goal this month. However, I have been slacking as of late, not watching my calories nearly as carefully as I should be, eating crap food and allowing myself to wallow in misery. So... my goals for Feb: 1. Hit Goalllllllll 2. Eat well... and by well I don't mean stuffing my face. 3. Find someone (anyone) to take a progress pic for me so I can post to the Goal thread! |

Life kinda jerked me away for a couple months, but here I am. I was not posting, but I did have a January goal for myself - to lose what I had put back on during the holidays and another sick week (was aiming for down to 186). I made that goal and then some extra. I'm starting February at 182 even with a -8 pounds goal to get to 174. I'm also so close to weighing less than DH that I can taste it. He is being a good sport and weighing in every morning for me. Not sure what he was this morning since he left before I woke up, but yesterday he was 181.2. I don't see any way that I can not catch him this week.

My goal is to walk 4 days a week (or more) for 60 minutes a day. I would also like to lose another 9 pounds this month:

I've been yo-yo dieting/exercising for way to long. :o February is my month to finally get rid of this extra weight and take care of myself mentally and physically. Goals: 1) Lose 13 lbs and hit my goal weight! 2) Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. 3) Eat breakfast EVERY morning! CW: 143 GW: 130 |

:welcome: to all the newbies and :wave: Hello to all the returning ladies!!! For those of you who are new, I'm Sandye--resident crazy girl--and quite the blabber mouth :blah: My mom is LatetotheGame (LTTG) and she's around here somewhere (Today is her Birthday by the way so:bday2you: Mom!!!!)--chime in mom!!! A little background...I joined these wonderful ladies in this group back in April--or was it May?--and they have been insanely inspirational!! I went from 200 lbs to 131 with their help and encouragement. However...just as I was on the brink of hitting 130, the holidays came and I threw all common sense out the window and decided to just kick back and relax. Well...I relaxed way too much and now here I am, holidays long over with and I'm still sitting on the (insane) holiday weight! I tried to come back, really I did, but it's amazing how quickly you can revert back to old habits and I clearly wasn't ready to get my butt back in gear (no matter how badly my head wanted me to). Anyway, so here I am sitting at 164.4 today (egad--I told you it was insane holiday weight!) and I'm bound and determined to get back to where I was before the holidays! I will not spend another summer wearing baggy shirts and capris to cover my body! I worked too dang hard to lose that weight and there's no way I'm going back!!! So, time for a fresh start. I'm doing great today--got my workout in, got my water by my side and I'm eating POP!!! I look forward to getting to know all of the newbies and to catching up with all of my girlies!!! Before I forget, My goal this month is 135 dang it. Haven't seen that since right before Christmas.
I'm just doing a quick check in this morning then I need to run and get busy, I've got a massage this afternoon which is awesome but crunches the time too. Anyway, hip is still sore, not too sure what the deal is but if this massage doesn't help I may be bound for the doctor, I don't like aching all over the place and after two days of doing nothing but rest and ice and such I would have expected at least a slight improvement but nothing at all. Maybe because of that or who knows, didn't eat great this weekend, way too much snacking and I made muffins, honestly, how is that for self sabotage, baking! So now I'm bloated up to 141 on top of the popcorn from Friday night. Ok, off to get busy and stretch the hip. Talk to you gals later! |

Maaan. I keep gaining and losing the same pound. It's ridiculous. It's also totally stress-induced. It's amazing though, there are times when I can recognize it and nip it in the butt before it gets out of hand.... like the other day when I was walking around Walmart buying workout clothes and my mind kept telling me I should just go ahead and buy some junk food.... wouldn't it feel good to just jump into a bag of cheddar chex mix? And I could feel it, I really could... that junk-food induced endorphin rush I wanted to make myself feel good.... I managed (barely) to walk away from that one, but when you're so stressed out that this sort of thing happens all the time... I'm counting myself blessed that I'm just gaining and losing the same pound rather than simply gaining. At least I'm staying where I am and not losing ground. So... here's to being refocused in this new month! Sandye It's so good to see you back! I've missed you!! Now STAY here this time!!! |

Well here it is a new month a Monday and the 1st I love when that happens weird but true. I am so excited to hit my goal of onderland this month it will be awesome to do. :celebrate: HAPPY BIRTHDAY LatetotheGame :gift: I hope you have an absolutly fabulous day. iDream - glad you are back with us congratulations on making the committment to come back again way to go on being POP and drinking your water and getting in your workout. Okay everyone, FOCUS! This is a short month and we need to make every day count to reach our goals.
Jellofer--broken record? That's okay, I love that song! TG--you might want to keep up a prescription dose of ibuprofen to keep the inflamation down on your hip, no? Good luck with the massage, I hope it loosens it right up for you. SG--Look how good you are at maintaining! Welcome to the rest of your life--lol! Everyone returning and new, glad you're here. I got on unreliable scale #1 this morning and it would not even function (it's the digital one with an attitude problem). So I used the old analog scale that has to be set to 6 pounds to read accurately, and if you sort of give a little shift and settle back in, it will keep going up. (I guess both scales have an attitude problem.) I am going to make sure it is set up to it's six pounds=zero mark, and then step on and take that measurement as the honest to goodness truth. It was 203 (thankfully, that means I made goal last month, hee hee). I'm worried that my 10 pound goal is overzealous for this month, because it's a short month, plus it's Mardi Gras in my hood, and there is much debauchery to be done. I'm going to focus and try to behave. Wish me luck. Lots and lots of luck. |

I've been away from 3FC for awhile now and gained back all the weight I lost last time plus some :( Bah.
My goal for Feb is to loose the 5 pounds I gained in January from stress eating, and to stop the stress eating so it doesn't come back again. SW 218 GW 213 |
OK ladies... weighing in at 136.2 I am shooting for 4 pounds. So my goal will be 133.2. Last month the goal was too high for me so I am going to bring it down a little bit and see if I can reach this one.

Heya Chickies!! Wow, a new month already. Well I don't think I quite made my January goal, but such is life.
So I made it to 158, then somehow this morning I was 160 again. Those stupid 160's just don't want to let go!!! So goal for Feb is a reasonable 6 pounds. That would put me at 154. |

Joining the party a little late, but the plan is to lose at least 10 pounds this month and to meet most of my 30-day mini-goal (that ends March 2, since Feb. is a short month).
So 225ish now and hopefully 215 at most by March 1. |
WELCOME Everyone!! I tried posting my goals last night, but I guess it didn't post since it should've been the first one. Anyway, I'm keeping it simple this month. The goal is to maintain under 135. My only other goals are exercise related so I will hop on over to the exercise thread and take care of that!
Soooooooooooo much to catch you all up on, but suffice it to say I have been eating like crap and working like mad at all the moving stuff. It should all get better during the course of the month so I can get back to the lovely routine! :D |

And I'm the proud owner of a snack free day today, well that's not true, I had snacks but planned ones, nothing unplanned is probably more accurate. Felt pretty good after this last weekend. And SG oh I feel your chex mix pain, lol. Hey MsP, glad you're in there finally!

Looooong day at work yesterday with an Academic Bowl meet after work. Stupid sugar cravings too and I caved with a snack size chocolate bar and like 3 dum dum suckers. Other than that, though, nothing off plan and so I'm pretty sure I ended up within calorie range as I ate subway for dinner and that is usually far under what I budget for dinner. I will be strong today and not eat anything outside of my plan. I can do this! Tummy Maaan, I thought I was the only one in the world with a chex mix bug. That stuff KILLS me, I mean... why is it so good? |
