Helloooooooooooooooo (think Mrs. Doubtfire)
Well, well, well. Guess who jumped off the wagon again yesterday? I did so well. I was so busy. And then I stopped by Burger King for my PLANNED dinner... looked up calorie counts and everything and sure it's junk but it's counted junk and it's quick. But instead of my hamburgers, which I ordered... they gave me doubles which are apparently on the dollar menu. And instead of throwing away the extra meat like a good girl.... I gobbled it. STUUUUUPID. Someone kick me in the rear? Please? Couples therapy last night was NOT fun either. I likened it to giving yourself a papercut in the eye. MsP Maaan, don't worry about being behind! I'm just glad you're willing to step up and take over. You certainly didn't see me raising my hand! So, thank you. I'm glad to hear your appliance-free kitchen will be short lived! Congrats on the new dog! mystical Sorry to hear about the money troubles. That stuff is stressful! As for low-cost, I don't necessarily have anything but I can tell you that going vegetarian (mostly anyway) has seriously cut my grocery bill down. I don't know how your DH would handle that but perhaps it's worth a shot a few nights a week? Sandye I do hate TOM... but I do love when he leaves and takes weight with him sooooo I'm sort of hopeful, ya know? Go you with getting your workouts in!! I'm so proud of you for jumping back on the wagon! eclipse You know, sometimes i SWEAR the scales... they know what they're doing to us. Louisa Totally not stupid, I do that allllll the time. You do what you gotta do to still enjoy your life AND lose weight! Also YES I AM ALWAYS COLD. I am never warm anymore. I had to buy a heated mattress pad to get me through winter! nellonello Gah, I hate body problems. I hope your achilles eases up on ya! My IT band loves to give me problems... oh... and my back...Stupid bodies! (I'm totally just kidding) Thanks for the encouragement, I need it these days! FitGirlyGirl How. Great. Is. That???? I mean, weighing less than DH was one of my big goals because I just have it in my head that I SHOULD. Way to go you! Okies, I must finish up or I'll run out of time to prep for class!! have a great FRIDAY!!!! |
Good morning ladies! I hate to post and run but I'm hosting a playdate this morning and I need to tidy up!
Anyway, TOM showed up today--not sure if he's on schedule or what, I forgot to mark down when he showed up last month, but something tells me he's early--jerk. However, the scale was kind today so I'm happy about that. 159.6, almost half way to goal! Gotta love the water weight huh? ;) Workout is in, breakfast consumed, half my water too--over 800 calories burned so far today so I'm off to a good start! :D Really quick personal: SG~ girl, don't beat yourself up hun! Just pick yourself up, dust yourself off and sit next to me on the wagon k? Hey, I've got lots of Gorilla Glue left if you need some! :) But since you asked, here ya go :kickbutt: Okay ladies, gotta run! Have a wonderfully amazing day!!! :D |
A quick Good Morning. We are expecting like 6 inches of snow. I gotta get a few things done before it gets dumped on us. Weigh in this morning 159.4 Back to where I was before birthday, yeah! Everyone have a wonderful good day. Catch ya all later Pat
|
Just a hi, still no unplanned food for four days and today's day five, feeling better. Down to 137's too so that's great but my test is this morning so I'm going to head off for some last minute stuff and I'll hopefully be back soon. I miss my ladies!
|
Just a quick hello to everyone! Thank you all for the great vibes and thoughsts for me. It has been hard for us this week with it being my step-sons birthday Feb 3 and today is my husbands birthday. DH is upset because we always do something really special for the person's birthday in our family and we can't do anything now. I told him it was ok because we will be spending it with family but he wanted to do something special for his son since this is his first year living with us on his birthday and we couldn't do anything. But what can you do right! I am trying to put together at least somewhat of a special dinner for them but on a tight budget so I have no idea what I am going to do. Wish me luck :)
|
shrinking girl, HAHAHA i could totally hear Robin Williams w that hello! girl, you know what to do with that extra meat!! better it be in the garbage then on your thighs :D i'm sorry about counseling, that can't be easy.
mystical-anyway you can get a "special" present for him and--surprise-- give it to him right before he goes to bed? if he thinks his bday is over and has resigned himself to dream land, and then gets one last little surprise, that's a small thing that a kid will remember as super cool and special. just a thought. and it will prob feel special for hubby too, you putting so much thought into the kiddo. good luck! as for me... I ate 1600-ish cals yesterday, but I didn't record exactly. a little high bc TOM made me get chocolate, but at least it was dark. I felt like utter crap after eating it, though! Sugar high followed by a crash for sure! I stepped on the scale this morning and kinda tipped it on accident; I weighed in at 159.8 and was elated!! Then about an hour later, after laying around and thinking about it, I wasn't sure if it had been right so I tried again, 161.3. So Idk, we'll see tomorrow at official WI. For now I'm going to pretend the first one was the true number. I'd love it to be 150's... sooo close |
shasha Good luck with the WI you are doing so well... and thanks for the time I have already thought of that LOL I am giving DH me wrapped up in a pink bow hahaha. No extra calories from that dessert LOL.
As for his son I am going to make some chicken wings from my new cookbook the healthy way yeah! and since I use to be a cake decorater maybe I will come up with something there. My other sons and I are making some cards I make all of my own cards thank goodness I already have everything I need for that. Oh yeah I almost forgot to update everyone I am finally under that 215 mark I officially WI tomorrow but I have been holding at 213.2 for a few days now so lets hope I can get under that this next week. I sure wish I could figure out why my weightloss is so slow but I will take any loss it all adds up right :) Have a wonderful day. Does anyone have any ideas for a healthy dressing for my salads? |
My Eurka moment~I have been op doing good since Feb 3. Doing my thing trying to earn a bright shinney halo. My son comes home for lunch. In his hands is China Buffet sweet n sour chicken with duck sauce. Smelling it was driving me crazy. I came in and puttered with the computer. A few minutes he gives me the container and the duck sauce. I had 2 small pieces of chicken skip the sauce yuck. It was totally gross. So greasy. Now Im feeling queezy. Proof possive clean eating works. Put the container in the fridge and on with things.
PS: snowing like crazy out there. Im staying in and leting it snow. Got no where to go so let it snow let it snow let it snow! |
SG: extra burger, huh? You know the routine, just as you told me, pay later--and bummer, for a weekend when you could probably use a few extra calories to spend on Super Bowl (or in my case St. Louis Mardi Gras) dalliances. Oh how we love to torture ourselves!
MsP: the fact that you are so diligent about participating on here and doing all the tallying and record keeping on top of moving just proves that you are a rock star! Thanks for all you do. Congrats on the new baby--puppy love is so sweet! Sandye: you are a wild woman--800 calories?! Way to go on nearly half way to goal. That's gotta feel really good, especially since ToM's likely to leave you with even better numbers. Dixiemae: Good going on the loss and good luck with the snow--do I hear snow shoveling in your future? That'll burn some calories! TG: Rockin' on the weight loss! How'd the test go? Mystical: Money issues suck, no doubt about it--especially when you want to be able to celebrate. I find soups and stews to be very economical, and when you are the one preparing them, you can control what goes into them to keep them healthy. I know plenty of people who love a pot roast for their birthday dinner. Another suggestion for eating frugally is to buy a whole chicken, roast it, feed the family, and make chicken stock out of the carcass. Reserve any meat left on the bones for a soup or other recipe, then cover the carcass with water and throw in an unpeeled quartered onion, a carrot, some celery tops, simmer for a couple of hours, and you have the basis for an awesome soup. I save all my washed veggie scraps in a zip lock in the freezer (not crucifers, like broccoli, cauli and cabbage--they smell like, um, you know, when they are boiled) and I throw those in with the carcass. You can make veggie stock this way too. Buying cheaper cuts of meat like roasts goes a lot farther for a lot less money. Brown rice. wheat berries, and barley are often cheap, great grains that are healthy and filling. Dried beans are also often cheap and very filling, with lots of protein. Throw all these in your soups and you can eat off them for days. It is tough to count calories, but possible. Good luck with it. Shasha: I'm crossing my fingers for you for the 150's! My new scale came (one of them, now that the other is also on the way--when it rains it pours). It read 202 this morning, so that's okay. I was hoping for a lower number, but am not an ungrateful person. This means that I am no longer obese, yippy skippy, I'm sure everyone will start commenting on how slim I look, lol. New scale also reads body fat, which, naturally was way high, but I am pleased to report that my visceral fat is in the "normal" range. I attribute this to my diet because I pretty much don't eat industrial food--only grass-fed/pastured meats, no processed foods to speak of. Good fats, good for the environment, good for my body. Now I am eating less of everything that's good for me so there will be less of the good me! |
WOOHOOO! Test is done!! And I'm now the proud owner of a 93% and a 90% in my first two tests in human anatomy. Only 4 more :fr: left. Does anyone want to know where their acetabulum labrum is? Cuz if you do this is the girl to ask, lol.
And I'm only going back two pages :p Eclipse - Congrats on the new low, I just love those and no kidding about the move, that would likely be rather challenging when you're special ocassion food is actually everyday meals. Pokeycactus - Congrats on that 30lbs you lost already. And just a thought, I would totally but that on your profile numbers and your ticker when you get it, shout it from the rooftops that you lost that already! Do you know if there's any Zumba videos that are any good? Dixiemae - Yeah for new sizes, how marvelous, shopping is so incredibly rewarding when everything's going in the right direction. Jellofer - I was thinking about that, must have multiple massages to fix it ;) even if it feels better, lol. Where are you going on vacation? Nello - I must say that is a gorgeous picture of you my goodness! And I'm all over 600 calories in an hour, and I've heard it's super fun too, now that is a winning combo. Bigmomma - Hope you're feeling better, did you have a cold or the flu? Gtowngirl - Ah a wedding, I think we should all have those spaced a month or two apart throughout the year if they weren't so stressful. Or maybe trips to Mexico just to help having some nice motivation. Taurie - I'm so hoping you break that 120 for good this month, that has got to be torture. Loves2Cook - Goodness you've lost a big ol' chunk of weight already too. The slowness of things towards the end is kind of brutal I will agree but at least it's easier to look at by this point, kwim? Shasha12 - Welcome and congrats on a marvelous January, we like bold around here, lol, you'll fit right in. MsP - At least you're unpacked, little by little right? I hate crazy chaos too, it's makes me feel unhinged and therefore hungry ;) I hope you're getting closer to tranquillity everyday and can finally spread out past a bedroom! And I need my running buddy back and maybe by then I'll be running, lol. FGG - Thanks for the vibes, it is getting better, incredibly slowly and I'm not a patient person so this has been one marvelous lesson for me. The meatless thing is a marvelous idea, we've cut off about $100.00 a month since I went veggie and it's probably more now since I'm getting my beans dry in bulk. Hope you enjoy it. hmmm, belly dancing, that's where my screen name comes from anyway, lol, might be a thought, and probably a hoot of a good time too. Yeah on weighing less than dh!! Mine is weighing in around 136 these days so I've almost got him too! Yup, he's thin, lol. Louisa - You have some luck with scales, pretty soon you'll have four and they'll all be different no doubt. I hope the new one is at least reliable anyway. Katz - Good luck on those 11! Sandye - I seem to drop faster when I'm not exercising like a mad woman oddly enough. I can eat around 1400 and not starve but when I workout tons I eat 1800-2000 and it takes longer. So is life I guess. Oh I've never seen LOST but with Delphi all over it I think we're going to rent the season with our netflix one of these days when we have a moment. So how is day 5 holding up, still OP? Yup lazy has advantages for sure, it's worked out not too bad that this was a studying week so at least I had something to keep me busy while I was sitting on my butt. I'm glad the shoulder is great, makes all that lifting easier I would imagine. I haven't found the stregth videos too bad to do with the hip issues, I just modify the warm up part (no leaving the ground for me) but a shoulder you can't do alot of the moves. more power to you on the hubby front, mine thinks b/c he's skinny he can live off diet pepsi and reese peanut butter cereal and be just fine, then he wonders where his energy is, hmmmm:chin: SG - Double Patties are the  and so is couples counselling, lol. I encountered it at the end of an 8 year relationship and you're description is pretty accurate. I spent the sessions contemplating my finger nails and the number of ceiling tiles, I wonder why that one didn't work out, opps, my bad. I do fairly well once I get on a roll but you're trucking along too, we'll get there one day at a time. I also don't have to leave the house some days, no temptations. Nella -:hug:on the drama. My friends' hubby had to sit on an invalid ring for a couple days after his reversal she said she had no idea they could swell so much. Have fun;) Lil Judy - :welcome: Mystical - That sucks to hear, is January usually slow? Maybe with the after Christmas slow down. As FGG said, use beans, they're keep! Ok, well back to real life for me, it's a late lunch and some working out, going to try my hand at some non impact cardio today and see how she goes. Catch you lovely ladies later. |
Kawfee Welcome!
Shrinking Girl- consider your rear kicked! Those busy running around days are hard for me too. Sorry about therapy :( Dixiemae - Good luck with the storm! Congrats on the after bday loss! Isn't it weird how you can lose your taste for old favorites? Dh had some sour cream and onion chips the other day and I stole one - it was totally gross and greasy and too salty. I used to love those things. Tummy Girl - Good luck on your test! mystical Bdays are hard for me. I hope your hubby has a good one. shasha12 - ha! I'd take the first number too :) Part of the pound I was up was gone this morning - I'm hoping the other .4 is gone by my weigh in tomorrow (and maybe a little more!). I can't really get a grip on how my cycle affects the scale because I got a mirena in November and now I just sort of randomly spot - and a couple of times I've had a few days of. . .I guess, heavy spotting? Not enough to wear more than a pantyliner, and even then not really seeing anything on it - but heavier than my normal spotting. Anyhow, I'm having that heavy spotting right now, so I'm wondering if the random weight gain is due to that, or just regular scale fluctuations. Who knows?:?::dizzy: |
Hey girls! I just finished catching up with today's posts and now I need to make dinner, but I promise I'll be back for personals later, but I had to do one quick personal before I forget...
Mystical~ girl, just call me loopy!! I have no idea what on earth I was typing when I was talking about your etsy store! I had a major d'oh moment and I somehow started thinking about Jess and her business...anyway, that's how that got all mixed up and crossed up. Sorry, you must have thought I had gone off the deep end huh? :dizzy: Well, perhaps that's not too far from the truth! Well ladies, dinner needs to be made so I best get goin'!!! I'll be back later! Hope everyone is having a great day! :) |
My February Weight Loss Goal is to get to 167-165. That's 6 lbs by the end of this mnth. I lost 4 last mnth. SW:171 lbs I will weigh in at the end of the mnth.
Hope everybody hits their goals by the end of the mnth. GL!! |
Ok, so fell off the wagon yesterday. And I agree with whoever said it. There is something to be said for how food makes us feel. I ate crap, felt like crap. Today, I was great. Actually not sure if I ate enough. But I also went and ran and swam after work. What a great feeling. But I am wore out. Need to read for school and then dream land. Trainer at 0900. I will work on personals this weekend. Have a good one ladie!!!
Love and light to all my peeps! |
Hey Chickies!
no time for personals this morning but I want to say THANK YOU to everyone who gave me encouragement/kicked my butt yesterday. I needed it. Last night was a freaking disaster for me. I came home thinking I'd be productive and deep clean the bathrooms since they desperately need it. Well I get to bathroom number 2, clean the tub, go to shut off the water... and it won't shut off. Great. So the outside plastic thing that controls the water is broken and I can tell it's broken so I try to remove it so I can shut the water off manually... only I strip out the screw. When I decide it's time to shut the water off to the tub, I find out the only option is to shut the water off to the entire house. So I ended up trying to call my Dad who wasn't home so I had to break down and call my husband who leapt at the opportunity to come over and help and he was able to fix it... I just really didn't want to do that. Meanwhile my dad called back after the whole thing was done and so it was the first time I told him I'd kicked out the husband and so it ended up being a very emotional night. Sooo at 9 pm, which is usually my bedtime I still had to get my run in and finish the second bathroom and.... I'm pleased to annouce... I DID IT! I sucked it up and did it. Both things. It felt fantastic. Have a great weekend! |
