Delphi!!!!!!! OMG, so glad to see you!! Sorry to hear about your poor little one but glad things seem to be on the up and up now.
And that's all I've got time for folks, things are crazy around these parts - it's exam time. Picture me buried beneath piles and piles and piles of paper.
Tummy - That stinks about your car, but glad it's fixed now. It seems like everything likes to blow up or go bad right at the holidays when no one has extra to fix them.
Ms. P - I know! I know! Thanks for giving me crap about it. The kids go to their mother's for a week starting tomorrow, so clean eating will happen. It's easier when it's just me and DH. He doesn't complain about what I cook, lol.
Mystical - My BFF used a dietitian/ Dr. for her diet, and it really worked for her. I think it's great they would come to your house and make a meal plan for you.
Dixie - GL with the new veganism! There's a lot of resources on this site for it. I believe one of the moderators is vegan.
Delphi - I've been taking that approach. I haven't been "off plan" per say, just not making wise food decisions. Like, i had the calories for that piece of fudge, but should have eaten a banana instead. I hope Santa brings me an elliptical too
Jello - Sounds like good news that he is changing your plan. Keep on truckin girl! Taking a night off sounds like a good idea.
Gekster - WAHOO!!! All good news!!!
Still creeping back down here. 165.0 this morning. Like I mentioned above, the kids go to their mother's for a week starting tomorrow, so it'll be a nice break for me to catch up on things around the house. I have a lot of work to do though because part of their Xmas present is I am re-decorating their rooms. So I'll be painting and sewing like a mad woman. They have no clue, so it'll be fun on Xmas when they come back and go to put their bags away and *poof* new room! And since they will be gone, there will be less pressure to make more fudge, lol. AND more time for me to do workouts. It's so hard to do a video with 2 kids interrupting. I don't think the gym membership is going to happen. My car needs brakes and tires and it has to be done before we go out of town for New Years. So bye-bye extra money. So, that means workout videos here I come! You know what would be great? If someone could come dump me out of bed in the mornings, so I could work out before work, lol.
Just stopping by to say, I did in fact stay POP yesterday and I plan on making that true for today as well. I'm really going to try to get "real" exercise in today. Tomorrow is the last day of school for the boys and it's only a half day, so I'm gonna try to be a good social soccer mom and go to the school for the boys parties tomorrow. That should breed all sorts of yummy temptations. I'll probably plan for a little room, just for good measure.
Shrinking ~ Hey girly and good luck with those exams. I'm sure you will do just peachy.
Gekster ~ Well, well, well...I'm am just giddy to see you around gekster and doing so well. my dear.
jellofer ~ Hahaha...I know what you mean. Good luck with that miracle. Let the miracle gods know I need one as well.
Nella ~ Oh wow, that sounds like an excellent gift for the children. An a mighty creative gift at that. Wish I would have thought of that. Too bad about the extra money going down the tubes, but brakes and tires are a must have and much needed for that peace of mind.
Well I'm off to look for some side rails for Canaan's bed. Woke up this morning and the poor thing was on the floor..just laying there all helpless and stuff. It scared the bejeebers out of me. He must of had a huge seizure or something, because otherwise he can't really move his limbs much less get enough momentum to roll his self over pillow's. He's fine now, but man it was a scare and a half. Well you ladies have a groovy day.
Delphi-Oh my! Glad the poor little guy is okay. I bet you had a mini heart attack when you saw him. Good to hear you had a POP day yesterday. I tell ya what...with all the kids' activities and family/holiday meals and stuff this month is a mine field of temptation. I agree I just try to plan for it, 'cuz I know I'm gonna have me some yummy stuff here and there. Have fun at the school parties! P.S. Sandye will check in shortly, I'm sure. She's gonna LOVE seeing you back!
SG-Oh yay...papers to grade. I don't envy you right now. Hope the grading goes by in a flash and you're at break soon! We'd love to see more of you around here!
Nella-Oh, thank God you have good sense of humor. I was alittle concerned I might offend you by the remark I made. I hear ya on it being easier without the kids. Oh, and I love the room decorating idea. How fun!! It's so perfect...a week to do it all and then to have them come back on Christmas day and see their cool new digs...Nice! Bummer about the tires and brakes, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. The videos are holding me for the time being too. Work those dvd's baby!
Pat-You'll have to let us know how vegetarianism is working for you. I'm a carnivore hardcore (well, technically, an omnivore), but I can appreciate the choice to go veggie.
Jellofer-Now I'm curious too. You'll have to come back and report what you hear from the dietician.
mystical-Speaking of dieticians...I think it's a great idea to have one come give you some fresh new ideas and help you work on your menu. It's not like you have to do it all like they say, but I'm usually up for new ideas and something fresh and new on the menu. Oh and good idea about the night out!! That's one of the best gifts for a couple to give each other, IMHO.
Gekster-Yay on being done and the pound gone! AWESOME!
I'm down to a new low by a smidge. I'm feeling good, other than being freezing cold most of the time. I've been pretty much OP all month except the weekend out of town and one birthday meal. I'm thrilled with that. The goal at this point is ending the month steady (at least under that 132 mark). Pounds that come off beyond that are bonus pounds.
Ladies it (vegan) must be working. Got on the scale it said 165.0. my eyes popped. I stepped on the scale again just to make sure it wasn't messing up or my eyes crossed. Sure enough it said 165. I freaked out!! Soooooo I went to the store and loaded up on cucumbers zuchini broccoli baby carrots peppers box of raisins, apples and oranges. I got a bag of raw natural almonds for snacks. Im set with what I already had for the week.
Nella~ thats a wonderful Christmas gift for the kids. You making curtains and bedspreads? can we have pix please
Delphi~congrats on your OP day! Doesn't it feel great
Ladies~let us know how the dieticians ideas work out. Im green with envy. I found some good sites on vegan.
CONGRATS to all who have lost weight and being OP. We will get it done! Got to scurry and pick up kidos. Please don't be offended if I didn't mention your posts. I havent forgotten you Gotta run Pat
Delphi OMG! I bet that your heart just about jumped right out of your chest... I am so glad he is ok. Great job on the POP
Ms Perception You are so amazing you are doing so well... It gives me hope and inspiration to be able to do this thing. Thanks for the inspiration.
Nella I bet the kids will be so excited when they see their new rooms. Workout videos can be great... I like the 30-Day shred I use that one when I can't get to the gym. Keep up the good work.
Shrinking Girl
Well I did it I made the call today to the dietician and she won't be able to come out until after the holidays so we scheduled it for Jan 9th. She is going to meet with the entire family and make us a meal plan that will be healthy and full of new ideas. I can't wait. I will meet with her every month so she can see how things are going and if we need to make any changes... Not a bad way to start out the new year... I am so very blessed that I have wonderful husband and family that is so supportive and willing to go through this journey not just for me but as an entire family... Thank all of you for the motivation and help.... I will keep you posted and let you know how things go with the all of my journey... Hope you all have a wonderful day...
Well I did get that "real" exercise in today. Although that hour with Maya about killed me. Actually it wasn't too bad. I was a bit worried that my two month hiatus from exercise would have me so out of shape. But it wasn't too bad. Feel good and definitely had another POP day today. That deserves a woot. Also got that side rail for Canaan's bed, so a little peace of mind will rest with me through the frigid winter nights.
mystical ~ Hey doll. That's great news about the dietitian and your family being so willing to help. Having a great support system really can make or break ones journey.
Dixiemae ~ Congrats on the loss and bravo on the whole vegan thing. It's nice to find something that improves our health and at the same time, is something we can enjoy and maintain.
MsP ~ I'm gonna have to get you on facebook so I can check out those photos. An all time low ...eh? Well bravo and on the panties girlfriend.
Well that's it for me ladies. Off to watch some more Christmas flicks. You ladies have a brilliant evening.
Glad to hear that the little one is alright Delphi!!! YOu have definately been missed here!
I met with the personal trainer at the therapy office that I go to. He will be awesome. A body builder who is willing to get in my face to help me acheive my goals!!! I love it. Tomorrow is with the dietician. Today I did pretty good except for some eating to kill time, but I think that I should be sort of ok. I did fall Tuesday while doing a really deep lunge at the therapy gym Having really big issues with the knee. Just not staying stable. Makes me a bit nervous. But The PT taped me up for the weekend and we shall see. My knee cap was jumping all over the place. Yeesh!!!
I will let you all know what the dietician says. They are putting me on a 1600 cal/day plan. Ok. I think that I can do this. my daily burn is over 2400 so that alone should put me down at least a pound/week. then you add the workouts and that should get us down 2 punds/week. Still high protein and low carb. I like eating this way. Need to start measuring again. So this I will do. I want 228 by the new year!!!
Tummy Girl OMG!!! You look so awesome... I am so very proud of you. What an inspiration you are girl... Thank you so much for sharing. Hope you have a great night. I won't be here tomorrow have to go to the city with DH... Take care and I'll check in later
Tummy-Fantastic pics! I gotta say..the thing I'm most impressed with is that you still have boobs! Mine are leaving me....sure the body fat is decreasing, but unfortunately I can tell ya right where it's coming from!! LOL
Good Fanfreakin'tastic Morning to all you wonderfully beautiful ladies.
Well, Well, Well...doesn't our Tummy just look absolutely amazing. Hun you are so beautiful inside and out...you better never forget that either darling.
And as for me, I have two Christmas parties to attend this morning and I have to bring fudge and cookies. Mmmmmmmmmm...fudge. (in my best homer simpson voice) This should be interesting. I'm prepared though and as always, the force is with me. Anywho, I hope you ladies have a wonderful day, full of joy and happiness....just don't forget those smilies when you walk out the door.
jellofer ~ Sounds like you have yourself a groovy plan dear. And something that you can work, as opposed to it working you.
Alright I'm outta here. Have an inspiring day ladies!
Nella - I have doubt you can be there by April, I'm with you, I'm uber competitive too and if someone I know can do it then dang it, I can too, lol. And maybe you can borrow some of her hints for free, lol.
MsP- Busy busy, and Christmas #2 is tomorrow, how many do you have this year? lol. And thanks so much, you know that is exactly what my dh said, you still have boobs! But they went from D to A and there's definitely some structural assistance with the bra but they're here for now, I hope the rest doesn't come from there too!
Delphi - darling so glad you're back, just thought I'd say it again. We're doing great other than some minor colds here and there with the dh and dd, I just can't seem to catch one these days, must be running to fast Awesome job btw on maintaining during all that stress too, I know the first thing I want to do is jump head long into a pizza so bravo to you! And you're cooking, OMG, I'm going to go see if **** froze over...yuppers I knew it
Dixiemae - Well look who made goal! Congrats that awesome, and the Y extension and everything, just marvelous. So glad you found some helpful resources on the vegan front, if you need any help I can try to do my best as well. Lauren - and almost at 199 oh can't wait, it's gonna be incredible!
Mystical - You'll have to let us know how the dietician goes, that could be really fun. I've worked with a few through work over the years and some are just fantastic and have some great strategies to make eating healthy very practical. I have no doubt it will be awesome. And thanks, and have have fun in the city!
Jellofer - Maybe it's that lack of almost 40lbs of insulation? I know I'm frozen all the time now, and wear a million layers of clothes and slippers and socks, lol, new body but layered to look 20lbs heavier. Stay warm and fill us in on the new plan when you get a chance today.
Gekster - That sounds like a brilliant day! I mean could anything be better than that, WTG on all those fronts, school, workout and the loss.
SG - Have fun marking! Or don't have fun but get it done quickly, lol.
There I made it, finally, personals, woohoo for me! A bit of a slower day today, going to bum around home and then head to the office for some treadmill time, got me some new tunes last night so I can't wait.
Finally saw a budge in that weight from our unexpected stay in the city, down 1.4 today, to 137, just another 0.4 and then it's all gone baby and I can get to this goal business.
Tummy - You look great!!!! Rockin' those guns like Ms. P and Sandye!
Delphi - Have fun at the parties! I sent the last of the fudge off with the girls this morning. 6 days of no kids starts at 12:30, so clean eating here I come! Great on you for getting back to your workouts!
Jello - I loved when I had a trainer to yell at me. I need to win the lottery so I can have one again, lol. My DH said he'll do it, but I can only see that ending with me beating him or us in a divorce, lol.
So, I haven't put in all my calories from yesterday, but I am proud to say I resisted the fudge! I did have one cookie...but I had the room for it in my calories. So, that puts me at being on target of 1400ish calories every day. I had at least 5 bottles of water everyday, some days more. Just need to get the workouts in and I'll be good. We have an Xmas party out of town tonight, but we'll eat before we go, and I don't really drink, so that won't be an issue. Then tomorrow, the workouts begin! I've got 11 days to get off these darned 5 pounds.
I'm thinking I might try a lower carb diet for a while. Anyone else have good luck with that?
Well, I'm taking a mental health break - one can only grade papers for so long before going completely insane - and so I thought I'd come in and do personals. Now, I'm starting at the top of the current page since things move so slow around here and I don't want to be commenting on way old news. So, if I leave you out, I'm sorry!!
Nella You know, I've noticed that just about the time I get some money saved up, something happens to spend it for me. I don't know if it's me getting a vibe from the universe that I'll need money and so I save... or just karma telling me I don't need extra money! As for dumping you out of bed... I'm sure a handy person could rig something up so your bed dumps you out when your alarm clock goes off!
MsP Kudos to you for being so OP this month. I certainly haven't been. I haven't been terrible but I haven't been great either. Congrats on the new low! How exciting!
Dixiemae WooHoo on that scale moving!
mystical Wow, what a great step to plan with a dietician! This must be sooo exciting! I'm so happy your whole family is on board with you, how motivating!
Delphi Yay for side rails for the bed! Yay for real workouts! Yay for fudge! Er... yay for the SMELL of fudge? Something like that. May your willpower guide you through!
jellofer Wowee, personal trainer! I watched the biggest loser all of twice this past season and when I saw Jillian climb up on top of one of her people to get in their face I thought "woahhhh, she's scary" I don't know if that would motivate me or make me pee my pants but good luck to ya!! I hope it works out great!
Tummy As always, your pictures motivate me beyond belief. You look amazing. Simply amazing. You rock!
As for me... I'm having a rough month, really. So much going on, so much food around and tons of stress to boot. My mom's knee has kind of given out on her and that's added to a lot of my stress. She lives 45 minutes away and I wish she were closer so I could help her out more. I'm going on Sunday to do some shopping and cooking for her but I feel awful just leaving her there. Ugh. I feel like I've been really struggling with my eating lately and I don't really know why other than I'm letting myself struggle. Self-sabotage maybe? I somehow gained 1.7 lbs in 2 days this past weekend (impossible - I ate nowhere near that many calories) and so I'm not quite sure what's going on with my body these days. I'm finally back down to 186 and the loss has been steady all week - a bit more each day but I"m certainly hoping for a whoosh at the end of the week (which I was hoping for today but NOOOO). It's how I usually lose my weight (all at once) but since I've had the gradual loss all week I really don't know what to expect.
I'm frustrated with myself for being so wishy washy but I'm pretty sure it's stress related and I'll straighten out.
