I've been AWOL for a few days..darn weekends!

Pat: That is awesome, I think the purpose of the Wii Fit is to get us to be more active and not to be our only form of exercise for ever and ever. Keep up the good work but don't kill yourself :D

full of grace: Glad to see you back at it, you'll feel so much better after a few days of exercising too. An congratulations on ONEderland! We should celebrate :carrot:

Hattie: Keep it up :)

Me - Saturday 50 min Wii (35 cardio, 15 yoga)
Sunday Spent like 6 hours moving furniture around... does that count? my legs were actually a bit sore haha
Monday - No workout, had to finish up cleaning the mess from Sunday
Tuesday - 25 min. cardio DVD and 40 min strenght training (DVD). I still do the body test on DVD days to keep my dots rolling and so that the thing does not lecture me haha.

Hattie22 10-09-2008 05:07 PM

Hey... where did everyone go?
Well.. I said on Sunday that I was going to try for 6 days in a row...but I didn't do it. I did keep up the Treadmill every day. It is so hard for me to fit in the wii after work and/or after dinner. The wii is in the living room and everybody has their special shows to watch.

Sunday: steps: beginner 3x and advanced 4x Hoola Hoops: 3X Long run:1
Monday: none :(
Tuesday: none :(
Wednesday: Advanced steps 4X Hoola Hoops: 3x Long Distance Run (OMG) 1

I am going to go do wii in just a few minutes. No really, I am!!!

Side note: I lost a pound!
Let me know what you all are doing it really helps to keep the motivation going.

Patt0 10-09-2008 05:19 PM

Hattie: I've been doing c25k and today is my day to run! Yesterday i should have done Wii, but I just didn't. :( I am quite disappointed with myself because I have absolutely no excuse for missing.

You see: once you open up the free step or the free run on wiifit you can do either of these WHILE THE REST OF THE FAMILY IS WATCHING TV! All it needs is to set up the wii programme during a commerical (if you don't have a DVR, PVR or TiVo) then pause it. Tune in to the channel needed then hold the wand controller pointed above the TV and slowly lower it till is vibrates once (that is the continue button), then click A and you are on you way to free step or free run. The controller clicks and talks to you! I have no frickin' excuse for missing yesterday.

Anyhow, my weight just made a drop after a couple weeks of plateau! Hurray! :)

Newshinyme: regarding the Jilliam Michaels wii game, where are you getting it from. I cannot find it listed on futureshop or bestbuy web pages and they usually list games before the release date and ebgame does not have it listed in their binder of up-coming game at Oakridge mall.

Promise for today: Wii Fit for yoga (stretching) and then W2D1 of C25K then WiiFit for yoga (more stretching).

PattO

Congrats on the Loss!!! :congrat:

The only problem with doing the free run is that my living room is small and I would be in everyone's way. :moo:

I did find the time Last night to do the following:
Adv. steps: 4X Boxing expert: 1x Long distance run: 1x 47 mins. That long distance run is hard but fun! :running:

For the weekends we are still going to our lake house and wii doesn't go there with me. :(

I am going to do some wii today and then on Sunday. I am hoping to fit in a nice long walk outdoors on Saturday. It should be perfect with the foliage coming out now.

Have a great weekend!! Where are all the wii fit challenge people? Check in... I miss you! :grouphug:

Hi guys,
It's been a bit hard for me to get to the computer this past few days, the hubby is at home studying and he needs the computer, so I can't use it for "fun"
stuff.
Hattie: Congratulations on the loss!. Don't beat yourself if you can't do the Wii every day, you are still using the treadmill and that means you are still being active, that is awesome :)

Pat: I am not sure about the game. I have tried Futureshop and Bestbuy's websites and there's nothing there like you said. Haven't checked an actual store yet, but if you tried and there was nothing, then I won't. The only place I've seen it for sale is at Jillian Michaels' website (on pre-order). Funny thing is that they don't have any info on that on the Nintendo Wii website either, so I don't know what the deal is. I will just wait and see if it ever becomes available from Canadian retailers.

I haven't been doing the Wii other than Body tests.
On Wednesday and today I worked out to DVDs and that kicked my butt.
Yesterday was my Wii day, but I didn't have a chance to do it :(
I'll try to get some Wii in tomorrow.

Back on the Wii

I am excited to say that I am back on the Wii Fit. I had been using it since the 27th of August and worked out on it for 17 days through the month of September. I started out at 198lbs and need to weigh myself today. I fell off the wagon for the last 2 weeks but am back on. I will also be calculating my measurements today too. Last time I weighed myself on there I was 189, however, I am just finishing up my cycle, so I know the water weight will change that number a little bit. My goal is to work out another 15-20 days this month if possible.

Hattie22 10-15-2008 04:45 PM

Hi everyone

Friday: Treadmill AM - I did Adv. steps 4x Hoola Hoops: 3x and free run for 10 mins.
Saturday: No wii but went for a walk for 30 mins. (don't know milage)
Sunday: Went for a beautiful walk outdoors on a trail and enjoyed the beautiful foliage. Walked 2 miles
Monday: No wii but Treadmill for an hour
Tuesday: Treadmill AM - Adv steps 4x Hoola hoops 3x Expert boxing 1 40 mins.

Lost 2 more lbs. and am now down 25 lbs. since Aug 11th.

Wecome back to wii magray! Go for it!!!

I wish there was more aerobics on wii. They are fun but I want more! I love the boxing and I guess the expert is the last one. At least it changes the moves around. Did I tell you that my dog barks at the boxing? I don't know if she is trying to protect me or what.

Time to go wiiiiiiiiiiii :) See ya later!

JamieJo 10-15-2008 06:45 PM

Ok ladies - SO my husband just brought home a wii. What is this Wii Fit deal? So far all we have is the program that comes with it with the tennis, boxing, bowling...stuff. What do I need for this "fit" game? From the sounds of you guys, it really works. I'm also doing the C25K and just did week 4 day 1 yesterday but I've also been doing the tennis and boxing and find that to be a little bit of a work out. Do I just need to buy the game for the "fit" game or do I have to get other attachments with it?

Newshinyme 10-15-2008 07:35 PM

Hi JamieJo,

The Wii Fit is a game disc you buy for the Wii, along with the disc it comes with a balance board, which is the coolest thing. You can do yoga, aerobic exercise, strength training and balance games on it. The cost for the entire package is about $100, but IMO, it's well worth it. It has helped me get back on track with my exercise and activity level.

magray: Welcome!

Hattie: You are so good :). Congratulations on your loss. I know what you mean by wanting more aerobics. I really can't do the running thing because I live in an apartment and I don't want to be pouncing on my neighbours' heads LOL, so that leaves me with the hoops, step and boxing. Boxing is my absolute favourite tho. It is so funny that your dog barks at it

Now, I have a confession to make: I have been a bum all week :o. Saturday I did 30 min aerobics, but that has been it. Yesterday I was out doing errands all day and I walked everywhere, but somehow it's not the same. I have to get back to it or I am going to lose all the progress I've made. Somebody kick my butt please!

Hattie22 10-15-2008 08:16 PM

Newshinyme:

Here you go...:kickbutt:

No really... just get back on the balance board and do a little moving. You can do it! :cheer: Moving doing errands is good but I know what you mean...it's just not the same.
You can help me though if I know that you are doing it along with me :smug:

I will be one of those miis cheering you on!!!!

Patt0 10-16-2008 03:31 AM

Well, I've been a bit remiss on the Wii. I am weighing myself everyday and instead of wii excercises I do the C25K programme. I also completed 5K in the Canadian Thanksgiving 5K challenge. Me and the little dog did it in the rain! He was not happy with getting his feet wet.

Hattie: I enjoyed your story of your dog barking at the boxing guy. My wiifit/dog story: Are you guys familur with the Lotus sit "excercise" on the wiifit? You have to sit on the balance board perfectly for 3 minutes. The Screen just has a candle burning on it. You also get to hear sounds and stuff like horses galloping and sometimes a moth circles the flame. Well the little dog is quite visual and one day when I was doing this 'excercise' at the end of my workout he noticed the moth and started jumping around and following it from oneside of the screen to the other. Then, sadly, the moth went into the light and burnt to a crisp! The little dog was so shocked !!!!! He just sat down and barked once in horror. I was trying so hard not to laugh, but I couldn't hold it in and failed the 'excercise'. :D

Since we all seem to love the boxing, wouldn't it be fun if we could have boxing sessions online through the Wii with each other? It would be way more excersizing that my sons online gaming where he just sits on the couch and shoots bad guys.

Hattie22 10-17-2008 05:41 PM

Hi everyone

PattO:

I laughed so hard about your dog and the moth. I don't know how you could have kept your composure! What kind of dog? I would love to see a pic. I loved that meditation thing. It is hard to sit perfectly still. I haven't done it for awhile. Maybe I will tonight. Love your idea of Boxing each other!

Wednesday: Adv step: 6x Expert Boxing: 1x Hoola Hoops: 1x
Free step: 1010 steps

Thursday: Adv Step:5x Hoola Hoops: 3x Expert Boxing: 1x
Free steps: 1144 steps

Weekend will be without wii. :( I will try for walks on Saturday and Sunday and possibly be back Sunday for a round of wii.

Have a great weekend everyone! :flow1:
Where are all of the wii people? We can't do this alone. We need you! :coach:

Newshinyme 10-17-2008 05:41 PM

I am back!

Pat: Wow, that is amazing! Were you a runner before or is this your first time around?

Hattie: Thanks for your encouragement  I kept thinking of your words and that finally got me back to exercising today.

It would be a blast if we could box against each other through the Wii, maybe somebody will listen hehe.

Today I did 30 min. of assorted cardio (step, boxing, hula hoops). Not as much as I had been doing but I figured at least I should get moving again.

I am at my TOM and I figured the weight according to Wii was not going to change, but I actually dropped :). Best thing is that I had set some random goal on it and I am actually only .2 lbs away from reaching it and I still have 1 week to get there. I didn't think that was going to make any difference, but it actually made me smile when I jumped on the thing today.

I was thinking, and I don't want to hijack fullofgrace's thread here, but it seems like a lot of us are doing more than just the Wii Fit for exercise now.
So what do you say we make this a more "general" exercise accountability thread so that we can post all other forms of exercise we do? (I know we kinda do that anyway). Otherwise, we can start a brand new thread, but I really would like to keep your support since it has helped me immensely :D

Hello all. I'm new here. I'm been using the Wii Fit since late July. I absolutely LOVE it. I decided I had to do something and it was this or the gym. I do pretty good on my exercising. Seem to be stuck weight wise, lost 10 pounds in the first 2 months, the last 1 1/2 months, I may have lost 2.

I preordered Jillian Michaels new game at Gamespot. It comes out this week and they should have it in on Wednesday.

However Wii Fit works, it has worked for me. So I keep plugging along. I do about 40 minutes a day, don't do a whole lot of the balance stuff, probably concentrate on Yoga, strength and aerobics.

Patt0 10-20-2008 01:51 AM

Well today I did 30 minute free step on the Wii fit, while watching X-weighted. It was covering a fellow this time who ended up loosing 113 pounds in 6 months!!!!!!! I like to watch this show as a from of motivation. :)

Hattie: Our little dog is a Papillion and our big dog is a Golden Retreiver. I will change my avatar to a pick of the little dog.

Newshiny: No, I could never really call myself a runner. I have on occation in the past jogged for excercise and I went in a race once and nearly killed myself starting too fast. Never again!!!!! :) AND.... I'm good with talking about excercises we do other than WiiFit. ;)

Hi Swok. Try not to let the weight loss slow-down get to you. I'm in a similar position, was bouncing around 198 for ages, then suddenly dropped to 194 and now I'm bouncing around that weight. That is one thing I don't really like about WiiFit, if you want that stamp you have to weigh yourself everyday. I find it really hard not to let gains depress me! :(.

Lets all have a good week.
