Hello all! I finally got a WiiFit ordered! WHOO-HOO! I've been trying and trying and finally got one through Amazon! It's not here yet, but I have loved reading all your posts and I'll be right there with you as soon as it arrives!
You all have cracked me up... the visuals are awesome. I can't wait! |

I've gotten at least 60 minutes in every day for 32 days! :carrot: Very exciting!! :D Have a great weekend, everyone! :goodscale "Ooh!" :goodscale "Okay... all done." :goodscale "Great!" |
I've wanted one of those. Good to know you like it. I plan on getting one now. =)

I haven't been able to do my Wii Fit since Friday:(! It's not that I don't want to, but school starting (I'm a teacher and today was the first day) has throw me for a loop! I've managed to get over 14000 steps each day on my pedometer, but have had NO TIME for formal fitness. That WILL change!

ankle has been acting up for me
and my pool is closed for two weeks  |
YEAH! My WiiFit is at home, ready to go.
BLECH! I'm at work and can't play with it! Isn't what we have sick days for? LOL! I can't wait to get home. :carrot: |
wow...here's a little advice, don't think Wii has gotten you in such great shape that you can accept a challenge from your kids on the Play Station Dance pad...ugh...tore ligaments in my heel...have to be casted tomorrow...not even a boot! Ugh!:dizzy:Boy...do I feel stupid...all this time on Wii Fitness...feeling great...now this! Guess I'll be doing the meditation guy for awhile! Ha...can't wait to see how steady I can be on my booty! I'll be so jealous as I read your "Wii" fun!:smug: Stay safe :)!

Sadly, I've only put in ten minutes each of the past two days, but I guess after 35 days of AT LEAST an hour a day, that's not the worst thing that could happen. ;) I'm back on the wagon tomorrow, though. I do love my Wii Fit and miss it when I can't get in my full hour. Quote:
We live near a school and it's FASCINATING how different the whole "vibe" is around here when the kids come back. Definitely intense... and then it starts to settle down a bit after Labor Day, thankfully. ;) Good for you getting 14000 steps in, though! Impressive! Quote:
Hope you're on the mend soon and that your pool opens SOON! Quote:
I've actually MISSED my Wii Fit when I'm away from it, so I totally know how you feel. Here's to a good, long weekend filled with Wii Fit time for us all!!!! Quote:
I've found that the Wii Fit step class doesn't move as fast as I'd like it to, but if I do FREE STEP, I can increase the pace using the remote, and that keeps me a little more active and sweaty and interested in doing it. ;) But I'd love something that REALLY gets me moving. Is there a dance game for the Wii? I'd love that option without having to buy a Play Station. (Kind of all spent OUT, after buying the Wii Fit bundle, ya know.) ;) Okay, so I can now say that I've gotten in at least 10 minutes of Wii Fit daily since beginning the challenge, but only TWO of my days were less than 60 minutes. So, that's pretty good. I'm going to try and get back on the hour-a-day wagon starting today and hope to start off with a GREAT weekend! Hope ALL of you have a great weekend! Step on. :goodscale Great! :p |
Just checking in.
After those two days of only 10 minutes each (boooooo!) I've been back up to 60 minutes or more of Wii Fit every day, plus some walking a few days too. Phew! Back at it! Feels good! How's everyone else doing? Having fun? Step on. :goodscale Great! :goodscale Ready! |
This thread convinced me to get a Wii and Wii Fit. The kids have been bugging me since it came out that they wanted one, and I found a bundle with a bunch of games for a good price, so I picked it up. I haven't found Wii Fit yet but I plan on hunting again tomorrow.
The bundle I got included Dance Revolution for Wii and boy is that a good workout!!! I spent an hour on it this evening and I was working up quite a sweat and having fun too. If you come across the game, consider getting it to add some variety. It's really a lot of fun. |
OMG. I don't have a lot of time right now, but I wanted to post and say... I LOVE WII FIT! My everything hurts... even places that I didn't know was possible to ache. In addition, I am convinced that some of the yoga poses are not designed for a short, round woman with no coordination like me. I about fell off the board a couple of times! I have to laugh at myself, I am so clumsy. Anything on one leg is slightly dangerous! LOL! It is the coolest thing ever. My DH and DS are loving it and we have some good competition going on in this house! Now if I just had more time at home.
:carrot: |
I got my Wii Fit today...yay! I did an hour of that plus an hour of Dance Revolution. I must admit it was a lot of fun but with all the breaks involved between exercises, it's hard to get your heart rate up to where it needs to be for fat burning. I loved the yoga and am going to even get up early tomorrow to do it first thing.

Excellent! Thanks!! And congrats on your purchase! Yay! Quote:
LOL about the yoga. Yeah... I've had some challenges there too, but have found that it does get a little easier each time. Yay! :D I think the competitive element is one of the smartest things about it. Really keeps me jazzed to "earn" my coins in my piggy bank for the day and reach certain benchmark goals. I've only had four days in 53 with less than 60 minutes of Wii Fit time (and those four days, I still got 10 to 50 minutes each), and I've had probably 10 days of more than 60 minutes in those 53 days. I don't know why that matters to me. LOL I'm obsessive! Just goes to show ya why that whole competitive element of the Wii Fit really works for me. Much better than "earning" time at the gym or something. LOL Quote:
Yes, I agree about the breaks. When I really want to do cardio, I will set the "free step" to 20 or 30 minutes and boost up the pace as fast as it will go, and I'll hit 1000 steps every 10 minutes, work up a sweat, and not have to stop so much. Same with doing longer-time hula hoop challenges or the expert rhythmic boxing... going to the highest number of reps in the strength exercises, etc., anything to get more work with less downtime between things. But I'm all over the hunt for Dance Revolution now. Time to shake things up! Woo hoo! Let's go, y'all! Woo! :carrot: |
I have been doing Dance Dance Revolution even more than my Fit as I find it works up so much more of a sweat. The issue I have with both of these 'games' is that they say to do them barefoot, but after an hour or more of the activities, my feet and ankles start to get sore and I worry that I'm not getting enough support. However, they say not to use shoes on the equipment as it is 'unsafe'. It's a catch 22. I'm not sure what to do as I don't want to become injured.

Hi full of grace!
I'd love to keep you company with the Wii Fit challenge. I've kind of abandoned mine for a few weeks now and should really get back to it. How does the challenge work exactly? |
