I am too! My husband and I went for a swim at the gym last night and I used a whole bunch of muscles I don't usually use, I think. ;) LOL

Hey, every bit of activity counts!!

Ooh! Italy! HAVE FUN!!!!! Wow! That's totally worth saving your pennies for!!!

I sure hope to be! I haven't missed a day on Wii Fit since we bought it in mid-July. I think I'm up close to 70 days now. NO MISSES! :) Now, four or five of those days, I got less than 30 minutes, but there's also a good dozen days I got over 90 minutes, so I'm still averaging an hour per day (or more), overall.

So, while I may celebrate with a day off after I hit 100 days, I'm trying to go strong!!!

Came out in May, here, so not THAT far behind. :carrot: Yay and keep it up on the treadmill in the meantime! :)

Mine too! I do love it! :) Silly little things like that really drive my interest in doing it all, day after day.

Wow! That's a great day back!!!!!!!!!! Woo! Go, you!

As for my check-in, got 45 minutes in today, the 10 minutes plus the swim yesterday, Friday was a good 60 minutes, and I think I already posted about before that.

Woo!

Back on the wagon with my food plan this weekend after having slipped last week (but not with exercise--stayed with that, daily, which is awesome), so I know it's gonna feel great to add that to the daily exercise and see some good results at weigh-in this week. :)

Have a GREAT week, everyone! :goodscale "Step on!" :goodscale "Great!" :goodscale "All done." :D

Way to go! Let us know how your weigh-in goes ;)

I did a Walk at Home DVD this morning for 1 hr and the body test on the Wii. Am planning on some free step tonight while watching TV. I unlocked that a long time ago but never thought of it until very recently. I love that I can move while watching TV instead of sitting on my bum :carrot:. It makes it go so fast too.

spammerhamster 09-22-2008 06:43 PM

I've bought the wiifit a few weeks ago too. Can't say that I'm playing with it daily, but I'm trying.

The jogging thing is kinda awkward for me and I think it can lead to injuries, so I thought up a nice solution to it. I do the jogging on my elliptical trainer. No injuries, and it is a "true workout"

I usually do this.
Warm up with a basic step, boxing and some yoga.
Then a basic hoolahoop.
Then I'll do the short jogging on the elliptical on "moderate intensity"
Then i'll do either long distance or island lap on the elliptical with increased resistance.
Finally an advanced hoolahoop to loosen those hips.
And cool down with an advanced step
And finish with some yoga.

usually takes me 30 minutes or so, but it's an intense workout. Esp. the elliptical.

Patt0 09-23-2008 01:12 AM

Well, back at it after a sketchy weekend. ;)

Today I did 53 minutes on Wii Fit.

Yoga: 6 minutes
short run: 4 minutes
boxing: 13 minutes
step-on-a-step: 30 minutes.

I am pretty disapointed with the HRM that we just purchased. It keeps dropping off and not recording! Gonna take the darn thing out and shoot it... Uhh I mean back to the store (MEC) and maybe get one from a different supplier.

Hope y'all had a good day. :)
P.

Patt0 09-24-2008 01:16 AM

So, where is everybody?

Got a new HRM - and did a short Wiifit workout: 30 minute
step on a step. :)

smiles4u 09-24-2008 06:54 AM

I was told on Monday by the Doctor that I have to stay off my knee for a while....if it is no better in a week I will have to have an x-ray. At the moment the Dr thinks it might be a sprain or a small tear in the cartilage. It's frustrating as I just got back into my Wii routine and now I have to take a break! I'll let you know when I am back up and running!!!!!

Hey Patt, Tuesdays are a bit hard for me to work out, so nothing to report for yesterday.
Glad you managed to get a new HRM. I have a really cheap one from Wal-Mart and it's not fancy at all, but at least it gives me an idea if what I'm doing is useful haha.

Sorry to hear that! Hopefully it is nothing major and you'll be back with us pretty soon.

Today I got 30 min. of aerobics on the Wii Fit and 40 minutes of strength training. I am starting to like this working out stuff haha (as long as I don't have to do aerobics and exhibit any sort of coordination) :D

Wii time

I've got a question. (I posted a comment at your blog Gracie, but I think it was to a not-so-recent post)

Are you doing 60 mins of actual Wii time, or 60 mins of real time? And if it's Wii time, how long is that actually taking you.

I find the time between switching, esp with the yoga and strength section is just way too long!!

Newshinyme 09-25-2008 06:19 PM

Hi All!
I am the first one to check in today :D
Today I only did 30 min. of free step while watching TV. Since I worked out abs, upper body and legs yesterday I figured I'd give them a rest today.

mgggal: I can't answer for anyone else, but the times I report here are actual Wii times. Counting the Body test and switching time it probably takes almost twice as much. Lately I've been opting for the workouts I can do for a longer period uninterrupted like advanced boxing, hula hoop or free step.

Newshinyme 09-26-2008 02:56 PM

Where is everyone?
Don't tell me I am the only one working out, it gets too lonely in here like that!

Got in 30 min. cardio and 30 min. strength training :carrot:

Maybe it's just me, but yesterday I went out to buy some groceries and the walk seemed much easier than usual....Could it be? could I possible be getting in better shape??? yay!!!

Patt0 09-26-2008 05:38 PM

Well after a bad couple days where I only did 12 minutes each day and went UP 1.5 lbs then 1.1 lbs. I have finally turned around and traveled down 1 lb. ! Sometimes I really hate weighing every day, but I want that stamp on the WiiCalendar. LOL. I -know- that my weight fluctuates day to day, particularily during TOM. But those huge up-swings are depressing.

Anyhow: Today I did 6 minutes Yoga and 13 minutes Boxing and 11 minutes hoolahooping and 10 minutes running on the island. For a total: 40 minutes.

Congrats on the 30 min each of strength and cardio. Do you do it all at the same time? 1 hour straight? Or do you split it up?

Wii Fit Challenge

I am joining in on the challenge. I love my Wii. I usually do 3 beginner steps and 3 advanced steps. I follow that by doing the expert boxing. I really work up a sweat and it is about 45 mins.(wii time). I also do the treadmill for 30 minutes every morning. Maybe I am crazy but I thnk my balance is getting better.

I have to start the challenge on Monday 9/29 because I am going away for the weekend without my wii:(

See you on Monday:carrot:

Believe it or not, I'm at 200.0 and that means next weigh-in: ONEderland! I'm even premenstrual right now, so that's pretty much a guarantee I'll be in the 190s next week. Ack!!!

I totally agree. I really like the free step because it allows me to go faster than the Advanced Step Class does. :) It's a great way to pass the time while watching a show. And I keep the Wii remote in one hand and the TiVo remote in the other! LOL "The lightest handweights ever??" ;) Hee!

This looks like a GREAT program! Yay!

I've been building Dance Dance Revolution into my workouts with Wii Fit and then have hit the gym for some swimming and machines too. It's awesome!

Sorry. VERY busy week, here. Like, ridiculously busy. But I do keep checking in and despite how ridiculously busy things got for me this week, I did manage to get on the Wii Fit every day except for TWO... and that's the first time I've missed AT ALL since buying the dang thing.

So, I went 69 days straight... NO MISSES. And that's pretty dang good, if you ask me. :D So, I missed days 70 and 71... and then got back at it on day 72. Phew! I'm gonna call that a "win," for me. ;)

I hear that! LOL I do love the "privacy of my own home" thing, even though my husband sometimes watches my workouts... and sometimes that bugs me more than others. ;)

Hi MTG. I replied in my blog comments (as it's like a two-hour commitment, minimum, every time I visit the message boards, and I could do a quick reply to your comment without logging in here. ;) I have to see SO many threads when I visit here... it's such fun), but the answer is: I do an actual 60 minutes of exercise, which usually comes out to about 75 to 90 minutes of real time, depending on which exercises I'm doing and how much downtime there is between each thing.

Like, I'll start my workout at 10am and be finished sometime between 11:15am and 11:30am, but only get 60 fit credits on the Wii. But that's 60 minutes of working out, so that's my "hour a day" thing. ;) I try to keep my workout going between exercises, just to keep my heartrate up and my body moving, but I'm not worried about "earning credit" for that amount of time, as it's pretty incidental. ;) Hope that makes sense. Lemmeknow.

Yep. Me too. I like the Expert Rhythmic Boxing and Free Step and Free Run and things that let me go for longer periods of time. I do the same thing with DDR. I'll tell it (in workout mode) that I want to get 45 minutes of dancing in, and it'll devise a program for me that gets me to that level (it also calculates my calories burned, which the Wii Fit does not do).

And no, I don't count the time it takes to do the Body Test as a part of the workout. That's extra.

What upsets me are the choices the dang thing gives you for when you've gained weight. It never offers a choice of, "I'm premenstrual," or, "It's 12 hours later in the day than I usually weigh in," which is really silly NOT to offer, considering that it will then tell you that you need to weigh in at the same time every day. :\ I mean, if it KNOWS that's the cause of an up to two-pound fluctuation in a day, then why the HECK won't it let you choose THAT as the reason for the gain?

None of the reasons work for me, 99% of the time I go up. It's almost ALWAYS due to TOM or time of day! And since it won't let me choose TOM or time of day, I just say, "I don't know," because NONE of the other choices is right.

Well... I learned not to do that, though. Because if you do that more than a couple of times, it "lectures" you about not being aware of what happens in your diet and overall fitness. And while I know better than to feel chastised by a machine, sometimes it just gets to me that I can't program it to deal with the REAL reasons... if it's gonna go and get all preachy about 'em. ;) Ah... especially when TOM is the reason, it's something that gets to me. ;) Heh heh!

That's fantastic!! I definitely think my balance has improved since using the Wii Fit. Have you clicked on the "track progress" option in your little calendar screen area? (Not sure exactly where it is.) It shows you red dots all over the Wii balance board, corresponding to your progress over time. I love that! Very cool!

Well, I'm off for today. I'll try to check in again this weekend. Hope everyone is having a great weekend and nearing goals at a good pace. :D

Just checking in. Hope everyone is having a great weekend. :D

Got my 40 minutes of Dance Dance Revolution and another 15 minutes on Wii Fit today, plus will go for a walk tonight.

I ordered the Jillian Michaels Wii Fit thingy (I think I have her name right... not sure and I don't have it in front of me) and can't wait to have a more intense workout on the Wii Fit. :) Not sure when it will arrive but I can't wait to give it a shot!!

Meanwhile, just keepin' on keepin' on. Did an hour of Wii Fit yesterday, plus a small walk.

Every little bit! Wiiiiiiiiii! :D

Have a great week, everyone!

Patt0 09-29-2008 02:22 AM

Did 30 minutes on Wii today. :)

Agree with how stupid the weight gain choices are. However, I hope to never see them again! LOL.

Pat.
