hey Pretty do you have a gym memebership, because maybe taking some classes can add variety so that you won't get bored. I do definitely understand that monotony gets boring pretty quickly, but i find that the classes help to keep me motivated because its almost like having a personal trainer.

Hope you find your motivation

all.

70 mins today. I bypassed my goal this month!

Someone else noticed today. My mama's BFF asked me if I was losing weight. I told her 'not really, I think I'm losing inches'. We'll see at the end of this week. I actually measured myself at the beginning of this month so....

I had a gym membership......I was told I would save like $.50 a year if I prepaid, so I paid for a 2 year membership....24 months....730 days. It sounded like a wonderful investment that night...all the mirrors, music, machines.....AYE AYE AYE, how could I go wrong??? I stuck it out for roughly 60 days

I definitely wouldn't cal myself sedentary...I work 65 hours a week at 2 jobs, keep busy in my off time (shopping totally counts as cardio)...not too mention I watch lots of comedies to keep my abs tight, tons of horror movies to keep my heart pumping! I'm not terribly out of shape because once I actually get moving, I can sustain a 2 hour power walk or even a 25 mile bike ride.....I just HATE having to get up, get ready, and go do something that won't give me instant gratification like a new pair of boots or a mani/pedi might!

Congrats on overachieving Jasonslea! Good job!

ThePrettyOne, I hear ya. I have to have a gym that is between the office and home, that way I have to go past it. Once I'm there I'm ok, it's just some days getting there is a battle. You're not alone. Maybe you need an exercise buddy, a form of 'public' accountability?

As for me, well, I wish I was doing as well as you ladies. The Doctor told me yesterday I can get "another" shot before the end of the year if needed (at another $200 and another day off, this time unpaid). Silly me, I thought one and done, hello world time to kick some butt! That would be so totally and absolutely WRONG! Instead I'm still on the blessed NSAID, still in pain 24/7, still trying to find a way to make it work despite it all . . . and no way in heaven or earth I'll ever, ever come close to the Thanksgiving goal. Just not humanly possible. With any luck at all I'll be able to keep to my current average of 1 pound a week which brings me in at least 10 pounds higher than the goal. Matter of fact, that puts me at my Thanksgiving goal the last week of January! OMG. Well, crap. Crap, crap, crap. It is what it is, so suck it up, quit complaining, and get on with it already.

My gym was a little out of the way. We have gyms on every corner, but I wanted an all ladies gym (let's face it, I don't need another boyfriend, I need workout!), and the one I chose was about a 15 minute drive past my office. I know it doesn't sound that bad....but on Long Island....it's torture. I really liked the gym, but they closed at 9 during the week, then were only open for like 5 hours on Saturday, and something like 3 hours on Sunday...it was just silly. With my crazy jobs (one is 8-5 Mon-Fri and one is 5pm-1am Sat and 3pm-11pm Sun, give or take), I need all kinda of available hours!

None of my friends are going to make me stick with it. And with my jobs and everyone elses.....everyones schedules overlap. I'm lucky if I have 4 hours once every 2 weeks to spend with my best friend. But I figure if I don't work my @ss off now (making money), I never will

Guess what everyone?! I GOT THE FIRST CALL!!! Anyone who has worked for the government, especially the VA, should know what I am talking about. The first call is one of about three communications you get when you've got the job. In other words, San Antonio has accept my motion for a transfer! I got a call yesterday from the chief himself! He asked me if I was still interested, how long would it take for me to get there, then we made small talk. Then he told me that HR would contact me. HR will be the second call, then I will probably get a letter telling me when orientation is. Since the SA VA is about four times bigger than the Birmingham one, I'm sure I'm going to have to do orientation again. Now, if I hadn't gotten the job, he wouldn't have called me and he definitely wouldn't have told me HR would call me! YAY!

Oh and I lost 2.2 lb this week.

Ok I asked because I am an occupational therapy student and I was thinking about a government job and was looking into VA hospitals in NJ. Heard great things, so I was just curious.

I love working for the VA. Working with our veterans makes working for the government worthwhile.

So I had a NSV last night and NO it didn't have anything to do with halloween candy! I got a call from my BFF telling me that she had just got a check in the mail from our school for over a $1000! Left over financial aid. So we were both psyched but as soon as I got off the phone, I could feel myself going downhill. I was thrilled for her but I couldn't help but wonder why does everyone else get the good luck? Then I looked at the huge stack of bills on my kitchen table and started crying. then I immediately started to hate myself. i ran into the bedroom and dug out the whooping $2.17 that I have to my name, fully intending to march down to the gas station and drown myself in 25 cent fudgies. i was counting out the change ( yes! CHANGE!) when I actually stopped and asked myself, what the **** are you DOING?!?! I'm shocked no one called the cops cause I got up and started screaming at myself and cussing. I bit my tongue and that quieted me down. Then I went and made myself a packet of hot chocolate. it worked.
