HAPPY OCTOBER all!

Here's to a new and hopefully productive for all month! I was looking at my WW wi booklet and realized that Sept was just a month of steady gaining. No more! While the promotion is still valid, I'm going to rejoin WW and get the new material. Just to see what's going down. I highly doubt I'll make my orignial Halloween goal but I'm going to keep the ticker and get as close as POSSIBLE! My BFF fixed my MP3 player so now I actually have some music! Can anyone say GYM!

Darby ~ I know exactly where you're coming from. I'm a big emotional eater. I tell myself it's not good for me while I'm eating it but I can't stop. I heard both acu and hypo work. I'm more interested in massage.

141 all weekend and still down today! Soooooo close to the 130's!!!!

Hope everyones weekend was a good one! I had to work a lot (my 2nd job is weekends), but still managed to eat a plate of chicken wings watching my TiVO'ed hockey game

I've only lost 2lbs since I started my Thanksgiving Challenge on 8/22 but I am used to losing that slowly My original T-day goal was 9lbs, but changed it to 5 since I was losing SOO slowly, but I still have 7 weeks so hopefully I will at least hit the 5lbs mark and be under 140.

Hi, I am new here and was wondering if it is too late to join the challenge. I really like to set small goals and I am hoping to lose 12 lbs. before turkey day. I am not a real chatty person, but like to have some accountability. Please let me know either way.

Thanks

Hey all! Can't believe some of you have already met your challenge. I'm jealous! Actually I'm very proud of you all, that is wonderful!

Jasonslea I adore that chickee at the bottom of your messages. Too cute!

I had a real bad emotional eating day last week and ate a whole box of Milk Duds. I've been paying for it ever since. Boy, talk about a tough lesson! Crap. Crap, crap, crap! Now I have some rework to do to get to where I was when I leaped off the wagon. Oh, I've also discovered also the hard way that I simply cannot ride the stationary bike at the gym. Drives my pinched nerve nuts and causes all kinds of problems afterwards. It's just not worth the cost. So it's back to switching between the various elliptical machines. I seem so talented on the one and look like a total klutz on the other. Whatever, as long as it's burning calories I'm fine with however it looks!

My company just started open enrollment for health insurance. Good golly folks, if this is health care in the future don't ever get sick or injured. One of the options has a new bit in it. Say you're hospitalized for whatever reason. Every time the physician sees you while you are there YOU HAVE TO PAY $50! Can you believe that? On top of all the other hospital fees! OMG. "Doc, love ya, know you're trying to help, but don't EVER cross that threshold again while I'm here!" Heaven help us!

Thanks Kappy! Healthcare is going down the toilet like everything else. Crap.

Tried this snack today and LOVE it:

CandyLike Almonds

You need:

20 raw almonds
zero calorie butter spray
1 tsp cinnamon
1 packet no calorie sweetner

*Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
*Spread almonds in a single layer on a nonstick cooking pan.
*Roast for 7-10 minutes.
*Pour in a bowl, sprinkle on cinnamon and sweetner, toss until well coated.
*Cool 5 mins.

Makes 2 servings (10 almonds per serving).

Nutritionals:

I left the sheet at home so all I can tell you right now is that it was 70 calories, 1.5 g fat, and 2g fiber. I'll get the complete list for yall tomorrow.

everyone!

So today was a good day.....healthwise. I made the decision to go to nightshift today. I start Sunday. My BFF works nights and she says it's great. Not only are the supers more laid back, you get to leave early AND you get paid more (almost $1 more)! Today was the final straw for me in day shift. They are so full of crap. I didn't want to leave Birmingham with a bad taste in my mouth.

Car's in the shop, this time for the last time for a while hopefully. Finally decided to just go ahead and take it to the 'real' mechanics....the ones that will tell me EXACTLY what's wrong, not what MIGHT be wrong, and will go ahead and fix it. Should get it back in a week or so.

I WENT TO THE GYM TODAY! It was great! I felt fantastic! I walked there from the job. It was a nice day. Not a Shari day but nice. The sun was shining and it was warm but there was a nice breeze going so I didn't feel like I was going to die. It was an almost forty min walk then I got to the gym and did weights for another 30. My thighs were SCREAMING so I went into the sauna, first time in MONTHS. I missed it so much! Would have went into the whirlpool but TOM is here so no dice. Funny thing, a woman came in while I was in the steam room and sat down. She was bigger than me and FULLY DRESSED! I've never seen anyone dressed in anything more a swimsuit in the sauna. I kinda understand though. It took me a while to get used to walking around naked. The first couple of weeks, I just brought a huge towel from home and wrapped that around me. I'm a little more comfortable now, even though I still bring the towel when I remember. After that, I walked about five blocks to the library. I almost smacked the security guard though. He told me I couldn't come in because I had my work clothes in my bag! WTF?! He said 'rules' so I went outside, walked over to the research building (which is just a extension of the library) and ran into another security guard WHO LET ME IN!!! So the first guard was just a jerkoff. And now I'm here typing in the computer lab. And I'm going to do more walking soon cause I have to catch the bus to my neighborhood.

WOW that's a long post! Oh and I'm OP today too......including NINE glasses of water so far!

JasonsLea - I wish I could get excited about going to the gym I had a membership some odd years ago and used it religiously for about 3 months, then like most people I lost interest and never went back. Mind you, I pre-paid a 2-year membership

mom2molie - Sometmes a little cold is all it takes......works for me 1.5lbs is awesome regardless!

Pretty ~ When I take the time to go, I generally enjoy myself. Plus, I'm not paying for it, my stepfather's company is so I really have no excuse.

Congrats MolliesMom!
