Ever have one of those months? Holy cow. Got my medical procedure, thought all was going to be great after that. Get off the stupid NSAID, get my weight training going, kick it into high gear and get fit and lose the stupid weight. Doesn't look like that plan is even close to reality.
The Dr. said before the procedure he'd try to get me back to what I call numb and dumb. That was the first time I'd heard that a full "recovery" might not be possible. Going into the procedure I had what I call numb and totally pissed, which is what happened after I did physical therapy. I had no idea what a great job the muscle relaxers and NSAID was doing keeping me going until I went off them. So here I am a week post procedure, it's still numb but I can't call it pissed and I can't call it dumb. Off the NSAID but popping Advil like it's candy. I'm going back and restarting the cardio today, don't see the Dr for the "post" appointment until next Monday.
Utterly frustrated, disappointed, and just plain depressed about the whole game. I HAVE to exercise to lose weight, it just won't budge any other way. Yet exercising seems to make the whole situation worse, not better. There has to be a way to get this situation out of the gutter and improve things! There has to be a way . . .
60 mins of walking today. We had a very pretty day. It was kinda dark, threatening rain, and the wind was blowing (well, it was pretty to me!).
Someone noticed today and it was weird cause I really haven't lost anything and when she asked, I kinda denied. She then asked me if I was trying, I said yes, and she said it showed. Not sure how to feel about that.
Hello Darby1
Don't let minor set backs, set you back. Remember you can do it, we are all here to support you and I am quite sure that we all have those days when all we seem to put into our mouths is junk. So keep your eyes on the prize and stay positive.
30 mins walking today. I think I need to set up the coffee pot again! since I've switched to nights, I've been sleeping WAY to much as opposed to too little. I need to shot for 7-9 hours because if I get less or more, I get horrible headaches.
Electronics rant:
Okay, I am SO pissed right now! my cable got turned off, which was totally my fault, so i had been watching DVDs for the last couple of weeks. So the other night, after I had just got finished watching The Brothers Grimm, I had a urge to watch Helen of Troy. so I pop it in, I knew something was wrong because it didn't immediately go to the DVD screen. It said 'loading' for about six mins then popped the movie out! I tried again, same thing. Assuming it was the dvd, I tried a different movie.....then another....then another....then another! Same thing. finally I put back in the Brothers Grimm, which I had just watched that morning, and IT DID THE SAME THING! So somehow my DVD player is screwed up! *screams* So no TV! All the channels are fuzzy and I have no rabbit ears!
Today.....
I was finally ready to try this pumpkin pie smoothie that I had got out of Prevention. I got the ingredients, stomach rumbling, and started the blender. it started to blend then I pushed another button for a higher speed, saw a spark and heard a little pop. Blender went dead. I'm thinking, plug outlet blew. But the microwave was still on! Unplugged the blender and tried every damn socket in that kitchen...no dice. So my blender is broken! And I can't find the receipt! I just had it last week! I think it's in the car....at the shop....with my umbrella and my license! *screams*
Man I realllllly want to incorporate some freaking exercise, I just can't do it! I always get so bored with whatever I do, and get angry if I don't see results like......that night I have videos, an exercise ball, an elliptical, a mountain bike, two 5lb weights, and money.....what can I do? I liked the elliptical for literally, 15 minutes. I refuse to hang things on it because that's what everyone does....but still, I sure don't use it!!!
Theprettyone, you crack me up! How about walking some every day like Shari has and recording that? That will help you know you're doing SOME exercise. Or maybe taking the stairs instead of elevator?
I just got one of those 10-minute workout videos-- there are 5 10-minute workouts, and it's easy to find 10 minutes, even with a little munchkin around.
Hey all--I was just thinking about how I wanted to lose 15 lbs by T-day, and even though I don't know if I'll make it, I've lost 7 lbs just trying to meet the challenge! That makes me so excited!! Thank you all for the motivation!
Have a great day! We're off to vacation for a few days, and the food diary is coming along...
