Good Morning,
Thanks for all the love. I spoke with my uncle, aunt and his daughter last night and please keep them in your prayers. They are really struggling with everything. It doesn't help that it's a small town and it's running continuously on the news. You never realize how painful it is to hear it televised over and over until it's personal.

I was a bit over calories yesterday but not as bad as I was thinking to go. I was too mentally exhausted to get on the treadmill last night so I'll be doing that today as well as walking around the home show exhibit. My husband had been so great trying to keep me busy. I plan to eat a little lower in my calorie range today so I can make up for the eating I did yesterday. It wasn't so much the amount of food I ate but my choices. I'm sure after a couple liters of water I'll be alright.

Today's Nugget: Don't sabotage your own progress by how you think about yourself. Keep something visual before you so you can continuously keep the vision before you. It can be a clothing item that you hang on your closet door, a picture that you look at, coming on this site to read goal stories or a positive affirmation that you post on the bathroom mirror. Do what you have to do to stay focused.

jiggle- i feel so bad for you, try to hang in there.

Calories are 1295 & rode the stationary bike for 22min. going 15-20mi. per hour. Weight is up from over eating on Thursday, but should be gone soon.

Unna 09-25-2011 03:06 AM

Yesterday was great:

- I ran 10km (approx. 1hr 10min)

- ate approx. 1600 calories.

The weather was beautiful - my boyfriend and I ran and ran.... around the city, around the lake.... everyone here was outside and enjoying the transition from summer to fall. We got back home and crashed, fell asleep for an hour!

I'm really proud of myself for how I dealt with dinner. Normally I like to feel really full, so I stuff myself with veggies - quite literally. But I want to learn to be more moderate. I had made a huge salad. Normally I would ration a small portion off for my boyfriend and take the rest, but not last night! I rationed off a regular bowl size of salad, then had one regular slice of pizza and then I stopped!

I didn't put anything else in my mouth the entire night!

Today we'll probably go for a shorter, faster run (6-7km). I'm shooting for 1700 cal. again.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend! And Jigglefree, I really loved your daily nugget - it struck home for me.

Ladies! It's been too long. I've been plugging away here at work and school and am just trying to stay afloat! But I've been keeping up my challenges so far and am doing well! The only negative is I haven't been getting my exercise in as regularly. I *think* I'm going to have to start doing it in the morning, because I always seem too tired when I get home from work or school. Hopefully that adjustment will work. I've maintained at 117-118.

I'm hoping to check in more frequently- I'm beginning to get my "routine" down, so we'll see! I make no promises though!

Jiggle- I'm so sorry! Hopefully justice will prevail and your family can get some peace. It doesn't bring your cousin back, but hopefully you can get some closure. Hang in there. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Unna- Sounds like fun!

Fruit- Happy to see you're doing well!

TDI- Excellent NSV!

Ekicna- I hear you about the muscle thing- I struggle with the idea because I'm pretty muscular now and like how it looks, but I also want to weigh less, ha. I'm learning to accept it though. A number is just a number and we all carry it differently!

KDM- Congrats for not giving in to the cheeseburger!

SparkleBE 09-25-2011 12:03 PM

Jiggle:  I’m so sorry that you and your family are having to go through this.
Corinne: Welcome back!
Unna: Sounds like a great day!
Fruit: You’re doing great, and I’m glad to see that you’re feeling better.
Tdiprincess: Great NSVs! Congrats on fitting into the 8s!
Ekicna: Even though you’re gaining a bit of weight, it’s great that you’re getting even more fit!
Tinneranne: I love the Dropkick Murphys, so it’s super exciting that you crowd surfed at one of their concerts! That’s an experience you’ll never forget :)
KDM: Congrats on not giving into that second burger!

My weekend’s going well. I’ve been on plan and getting in an hour’s walk every day. I made an addition error yesterday and accidentally ate in the higher range of my calories when I planned on being in the lower range. Oops :o. Good thing I never planned on being a mathematician. I’m still trying to find a class to replace my cancelled dance class (it was a mix of different dance styles, a new one every week which seemed really fun). I might end up doing zumba or a mix of pilates/belly dancing, although I’m kind of intimidated by both of those. But if I do join one of those, hopefully I’ll be able to keep up.

fruitlady 09-25-2011 09:10 PM

sparkle- thanks, great job on the walking!
Corinne- Thanks, since you've been maintaining at 117-118, maybe that's the weight your body is happiest at. My weight range stays between 114-118, I'm only an inch taller than you. That's my happy weight!

Walked for 27min. It was quite humid for several days, with this cold I still have, it's hard to do much outside. Had 1296 cal. almost the same as yesterday. Lost 1.5lbs so far!

Unna 09-26-2011 01:02 AM

Corinne: I know how hard it is to go to school and work the same time! And try to maintain a social life of some kind..... I actually find that a regimented calorie program is sort of helping me stay more disciplined in my work and studies. Have you noticed this too? I also have more energy while my calories are in a bit of a deficit and when I do daily exercise... so that helps too.

SparkleBE I hope you reach your goal walking everyday! Good luck with the exercise class - I really need to sign up for one too, to change things up.

Sunday, I :

Jogged 6.5km and ate 1745 calories.

I'm feeling my period coming on.... so no weigh-ins til that is over with!

I started this "venture" on September 1st and have stuck to plan ever since (which is probably due to my high calorie allowance... I suck at diets!). I'm starting to finally feel a bit 'flatter' and am hoping to be closer to 160 after my after-period weigh-in. We'll see!

My boyfriend was asking me about rings yesterday (I'm super picky and don't like many). I'm not sure, but I think the proposal will be either in December or early next year. It sort of gives me a kick in the butt to stay on plan. Now is the perfect time!

SOOOOO, I have a question: Why is NOW the perfect time for you to stay on plan????

tdiprincess 09-26-2011 05:48 AM

Hello all!
Jiggle: I'm glad things are getting a little better. But, I know it will take time for you and your family!
Unna: Liked the question you posed at the end! Very thought provoking!
Everyone else: Keep up the awesome work! It's a daily struggle for us all, but we're doing it and we can keep doing it!

My weekend was very busy. I went high on calories sat and sun. Sunday was better than Saturday though.
Today is back to normal plan. Eat right and get as much exercise as I can in! :D Also drink lots of water because I feel quite bloated right now.
See you guys later! Have a great day!! :carrot:

Hey Girls, the weekend was pretty relaxing for me. I didn't do any work, or over do any kind of chores.. I wanted to lay back & catch up on sleep.. & I did just that. This month is almost over & we're halfway to our goal... I just hope that I see a loss for this challenge, even if it's just 3 lbs.. My scale has been acting up. I have to get on it 3-4 times to get an average.. it kinda sucks cause I paid over $50 for the scale, & now it seems like it's going out or something. I might just have to suck it up & get a new one cause it's frustrating not knowing exactly where I'm at.. I just want to get an accurate reading & face the music cause at least then I'll know where I'm at & what I need to work on.. Sigh.. as yall can see my mind is everywhere.. also my brother will be moving in with me because him & his STUPID IDIOTIC HOE of a girlfriend broke up finally.. so I'm also thinking about that, maybe it's for the best.. at least then my niece will be closer to me & over my house more, which is a plus since I <3 her so much..

eh, well I have 15 more minutes before I'm leaving work to go home for the night.. you ladies have a peaceful evening..

NorthernExposure 09-27-2011 12:07 PM

Hi guys,

I've been offline longer than I intended....between work, our renovation projects, business travel, etc. etc., I've just been away too long!

I didn't log my calories over the weekend, but I think I did OK overall. (I did have Chipotle when I was on the road, but since I don't live near one, it is a MUST for me, lol!) Yesterday I started logging again and was comfortably within my budget. Also took a 45-minute walk with the dog on the x-country ski trails near my house. We did a 3K loop (not including the walk to and from the trailhead) with lots of hills...good workout!

Not sure that I will have time for a walk this evening as I need to finish up with some painting, but I will try to make some time for some yoga at least. Looking forward to zumba tomorrow :)

Well, I will hopefully have some time to catch up with you guys soon! Jiggle, I'm not sure exactly what's going on with you (just saw your last post and haven't scrolled back), but my thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Catch ya later, chickies!

NorthernExposure 09-27-2011 12:20 PM

Had a few minutes to read back over old posts...Jiggle, I'm so sorry. And to have the media involved during a time of grief...I can't imagine. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!

Unna 09-27-2011 12:51 PM

NorthernExposure: What kind of yoga are you doing?

Today I ran 40 min. and then did 30 min. ashtanga yoga - it is such a perfect combination. My calories were around 1750.

I've been questioning myself a lot today, why do I keep making goals that I don't ever reach? I mean, sometimes I do - but often I don't.... it is not just weight loss or exercise, it is sort of everything (work, studies, when I wake up in the morning, etc.). I'm like, addicted to setting different goals. Sometimes I can find the motivation to follow through, other times I can't.

I sort of think maybe I need to take that new age advice - stop planning so much and live in the NOW.

Anyone else a crazy-continual goal-setter?

RobertW 09-27-2011 03:16 PM

Cal=1,571 (87 gm protein) and 1 hour cardio (920 Cal)

Weighed in at 317# this AM (314# after workout).

Still on pace to lose 5#/ week, and have dropped 17# in the first three weeks of my diet. That seems like a lot of weight if you imagine what 17# of butter would look like, but it is barely noticeable on me.

tdiprincess 09-28-2011 08:52 AM

Robert: You're doing absolutely fantastic!
Phat: Awesome work!!

I've been quite busy. Food has been going allright. Yesterday I did have almost a whole chocolate bar. It was quite tasty though.
Today is back to usual.
I walked 3 miles between Monday and Tuesday. Today I'll probably walk about 3-4miles, hopefully. I may do some dancing as well. We'll see. No other formal exercise planned.
Off to another long day. Hope everyone has a great day! :carrot:

60.6miles down, 189.4 to go!

jigglefree 09-28-2011 09:21 AM

Hey Everyone!!!
I'm doing better today than I've been doing these past few days. The services are Saturday at 1pm. Looking forward to seeing the family not looking forward to the reason. I've not been eating everything that calls me. The good thing is I tend to eat less when my emotions are highly charged. My official weigh in day is Saturday...We are leaving for Mississippi on Friday so I'll weigh in on Friday Morning. My plan is to eat strictly near the low end of my calorie limit for the next three days so after Saturday and Sunday I don't weigh more than I did last weigh in. I'm sure there will be enough fried everything, salt packed veggies and plenty of cakes and pies so it's going to be a matter of portion control and LOADS of water. I know I won't be getting in any workouts. Speaking of which I did get that in twice so far and I plan to get my third session done today.

Today's Nugget: There is always time to take care of yourself. Choose your food wisely, do some type of physical activity and get some recuperative rest!! What we look like on the outside will become what we want when we make the determined effort to take care of our insides!!
