I want to join and NEED to join!
My Halloween goal: 1. Stick with my no more than 1700 cal. a day goal. 2. Continue jogging 45 min. x 5 days a week (and try out some new trails) 3. Don't neglect my upper body (pushups and yoga) 4. Stay busy! 5. Be happy! (I do have to always remind myself throughout the day - sort of prone to depressive thoughts, exercise helps too) I don't have a pound-goal yet. We'll see. |
I'm late to the game, but count me in please :). I want to continue to lose...no target, but just to see the numbers move downward.
I want to exercise more...at least the 2 times a week that I promised myself I'd do, and 3 or more would be better. Life is hectic (but when hasn't it been) and this needs to become more of a priority. Lastly, I'd like to only weigh in once a week. <--- I have been driving myself (probably others) crazy with that issue. I never used to even own a scale (daughter wanted it, hubby bought it) and even then I'd get on only occasionally whether I was actively dieting or not. Its a problem. I'd like to love the scale as someone on the forums wrote it is her best friend, never lies to her ... lol Good luck to everyone. |
Good Morning Ladies!!
I had a good day yesterday. I actually had time to get my workout done. 1.5 miles on the treadmill. I will be back at it again today. I'm looking forward to a great day. Hoping TOM is over by Saturday. I thought it was going to be over Sunday but is seemingly got a second wind. The JOYS of Womanhood!!! :welcome3: To those just joining. You aren't joining that late. You have more than a month to work your plan which is a good amount of time. Northern - That is funny and awesome at the same time...You have finally accepted the fact that you are not plus sized anymore. :carrot::carrot:YAY!!! Today's Nugget: Do something fun and unconventional that would give you a good workout. Try playing hopscotch, jumping rope, if you have kids play tag. It'll be fun and you'll get your workout in. Exercise doesn't always have to be WORK so have some fun today. |
Jiggle - Glad you guys are feeling better! TOM finally arrived for me so I'm excited to get to weigh this week...it'll probably be Friday AND i've had 2 good weeks of exercise & being OP!!!! *Here's to hoping TOM leaves quickly!!!* BTW, have I told you I LOVE THE NUGGETS!!! Do you come up with them yourself or find them somewhere?? I'll admit, I stole one last week and used it as my FB status :) Hope you don't mind!! :D
PHAT - its yucky here in Nashville too! Yesterday was just the same!! YUCK! tdiPrincess - What kind of Pedometer did you get??? fruit - I envy your exercise motivation! You always seem to get so much in a day! I wish I could do that!!! :) WELCOME EKICNA , UNNA, AND 124CHICKSINGER!!! Well, I've been killin it at the gym!! I used to go and just do 30min of cardio, sometimes a little more...well, these past 4 or 5 times I've been to the gym, I'm doing 20min of strength AND then 45-60min of cardio!!! I'm so proud of myself! I *THINK* I'm finally back into the groove of things!!! I'm really hoping for a "good" number on the scale Friday...anything below 195 will make me happy :D I've been scared to get back on the scale because if it's not good, then I might just get discouraged :( I've even thought about not stepping on the scale til Halloween and giving it my all til then. We shall see! I'll let ya'll know what I decide come Friday! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK EVERYONE!!! |
I lost a pound between yesterday and today! :carrot: Even though I didn't get any exercise in, I was great with my calories.
Today will be back/shoulders at the gym and then power yoga! I'm excited! |
Thanks everyone for the welcome back!!!! It feels weird to be back on this site, but very refreshing and great as well!!!
Alright, had a pretty rough weekend, kind of slipped up...a lot. My little brother had his 22nd, birthday and considering he really didn't celebrate his 21st, we all had to go out and I may have partied a little tooo much. haha. Felt terrible the next day. But I've been doing well the last two days. I'm going to make it another goal of mine to cut alcohol out of my diet as well, it just leads to the drunken munchies and a fight with the scale later on. haha. A lot of my friends are still in the "partying" stage, but I think i have the will power to reduce my partying. My desire to get healthy is outweighing my desire to go to the bar. Two things I need to work on as well: drinking enough water and exercising. I'm becoming bored with the elliptical machine. Any recommendations on new exercises? I better get to work, but I will be making a more conscience effort to check in daily. Have a good day everyone!!! :) |
Got a good walk in yesterday, but have screwed up today by giving in to a cinnamon roll (homemade...so just have to guess at the calories). Definitely going to be over in calories today...and I go on the road Thurs-Fri. Not shaping up to be the best week for my diet!
On the brighter side, I do start zumba tomorrow! I'm a little nervous, but it should be fun. I'd also like to welcome all the new people ;) Hope to have more time for personals later, but gotta run! |
I put in 1.5 hours in the gym doing back/shoulders and then did an hour of power yoga. I lost 1lb between 0630 and 1230. Let's hope I can keep it off and continue losing.

Hi All!!
Still not feeling great but still make sure to do some type of exercise. Today walked 30min. & had 1390 calories. I gained 2 lbs! Does anyone here ever retain water from cold medicines?? I'm thinking that's what caused the gain, not sure. |
124Chick: :welcome: its never too late to join the challenge! I really like your goals! I think for the next challenge I may do the same as you with just seeing the scale go down!! :D
Jiggle: Awesome work with getting the exercise in!! :carrot: I really like your nugget as well!! I didn't get to do anything "fun" today...but I will be doing Zumba for a bit later on and I think that is FUN!!! KDM: It is an Omron..the one with the computer program to track your progress! I'm really enjoying it! It turns out I've walked about 2miles today just walking around the house and doing stuff. That makes me pretty happy! It is also motivating me to get my steps up a bit more. Even though I'm not a huge fan of walking for exercise, I'm finding that I just want to increase my steps LOL!!! AWESOME work at the gym!! It feels so great to increase exercise a bit more and push a bit harder! Love it!! :D Ekicna: Very nice work with the scale and eating OP!! :carrot: Farn: I know how you feel about leaving the site for a bit and then coming back! I did that this summer!! As for exercises: Zumba is fun, bike riding is enjoyable....doing some circuit training is pretty much HITT level at times and quite energizing!! Maybe try a couple exercise videos. On Youtube I found some GREAT pilates videos and some Zumba ones as well. Those are just my ideas. Swimming is another one. Is there a sport you enjoy? I'd say to try different exercises out to see what works for you! Change it up a bit! Most days I do something different than the day before to keep it interesting. Northern: I don't think I could've said no the a HOMEMADE cinnamon roll! YUM!! (sorry..know that's not the motivating speech! HA!!) But, sometimes we all enjoy a treat here and there. I did this past weekend for 2.5 days. Just get back on track, move forward and ENJOY your treat!! Fruit: Just keep eating right and exercising and it all works out!! Sorry you haven't been feeling too great!! Me: Well Today was better than yesterday calorie-wise. Also exercise-wise. I walked about 2 miles according to my pedometer! I have to figure out where I'm at for miles.. I will be circuit training shortly with some zumba at the end. Just gotta let dinner settle :D I will check in later! :carrot: |
As for miles...
50miles down, 200 to go! I ended up just doing 25mins of pretty tough circuit training and then a 5min stretch and cool-down! |
WELL, I think my last bout of circuit training did me in. That was the last time I worked out in well 2 weeks. My eating has been out of control. I don't know exactly which button i pushed, but I NEED to unpush it in a hurry.
Today, I practiced IF again, with my eating window being 5pm, and I actually did well despite the 2 1/2 cups of icecream. Pulled in 1500 calories, which is a little low for breastfeeding, but considering how HIGH i have been lately--its a good thing. |
Fruitlady: It could be the cold medicine - but it is probably more a matter of your scale. My boyfriend, who is an engineer and studied physics was telling me, casually, the other day, that the normal scale you buy for your bathroom are not as accurate as we would like. They aren't capable of really measuring down to the pound - but only down to approx. 4-5 lbs.
I don't understand the mechanics behind bathroom scales- but he does and sort of laughed that I weighed so often, as they really can't accurately pick up the small fluctuations (not even the electric ones). There are many factors that can influence them to way heavier or lighter. So, I wouldn't sweat it! I would if it weighed 5 lbs heavier. Anyway kids - that is our scale lesson today! They aren't capable of being as accurate as we'd like, so don't flip out! I wish I could remember his technical answer, but can't, sorry! So, did okay yesterday - I am currently in Mühlhausen-Thüringen, Germany for the next two weeks while my boyfriend works on a project. I did some walking around the old parts of the city twice and then when my boyfriend returned, we jogged 8km (approx. 1 hour). I estimate I burned around 700 cal. Calorie-wise was just okay. I ate 1800 calories (but 300 came from fruits and veggies). I would like to bring the number down to around 1500/1600 - no more than 1700. I hate it when I break my own rules! There are these amazing whole grain rolls here - they are about 200 cal. a roll and I ate 3 yesterday! Oh well. Germany is famous for its satisfying, healthy bread. The good part: I stayed away from the beautiful desserts that are everywhere and stuck to my fruit! Okay - I gotta get back to work. I'm planning another short walking trip today to take some more photos - it is an interesting little village. |
Halloween Goal= <295# BWT
My plan:I am currently aiming for 1500-2000 (~100g protein) during the week, and going higher (3,600, my estimated maintenance at 242#) on Sat.-Sunday. I am shooting for losing 5#/week initially. In the gym I am lifting heavy 3xweek using free weights in a 5x5 scheme. I am using the eliptical trainer for Cardio. |
