Good evening
chick: In my family we have 2 people with hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) in the house and hence the loads of candy, its very important for them to have it around so I can't really get them to lay off on the junk. I guess I will have to learn some serious control. I think this week I am going to try to eat a very small portion of candy if i have a major craving hopefully that will work.

PHAT: That's the spirit! I know how those weekends can be ugh, I had a tough one myself and went over the 2000 mark a few days! oops, at least the week is still fresh and new so its not too late to get back on track!

So I started the week on a bad note with food and calories.. I was so busy I just ate what was easy and convenient so translation-- fatty, high calorie processed food---I didn't count today or yesterday.. I was so busy and walked all day today! I ate a lot of sugar and carbs today so I am going to get right back on track tomorrow!

PHAT and Bumblebee: Way to work at getting right back on track! I know it can be hard. Bumblebee, avoiding convenience-type foods is one of my biggest challenges. It can be really tough when you get busy and hungry.

I am seriously exhausted - and it's clearly affecting my cognition, as I just wrote the above note to "PHAT and Chickadee"!!! I will be so happy when this grant proposal I've been working on is done and submitted tomorrow. Unforunately, then it's right on to the next thing... multiple meetings on Wednesday and Thursday, performance reviews to write and conduct that are already 2 weeks late, and a (thankfully short) presentation to prepare for a half-day meeting on Friday with my employer's board of directors - yikes! I need some good rest and sleep. For a week. I need a vacation. And I NEED FOR TOM TO GO AWAY!! I've had it for 16 days straight. Enough already!

Sorry, I just needed to vent somewhere. I'm really not as cranky as I probably sound, just tired and a bit overwhelmed. S'ok though; this too shall pass.

Monday, April 11

70 0.2 2.5 Two clementines

Thanks PHAT! I hope you had a shorter day today, and are getting some more rest tonight!

Finished submitting the proposal late tonight, and so went out to dinner at about 11pm with my husband to the one non-chain restaurant that is open late around here. The only reasonable entree on the late night menu was lobster, lol. So that's what I had, with asparagus and spinach instead of fries and coleslaw since we had our favorite appetizer. I was starving by the time we finally got some food (I'd only had about 350 cals all day), and ate every bite I was served. Really looking forward to things being back to normal tomorrow.

Tuesday, April 12

Totally off-topic, but my husband has The Colbert Report on right now, and his comments about John Kyl and the "Not intended to be a factual statement" thing are hilarious. http://onlinejournal.com/artman/publ...cle_8214.shtml "John Kyl once ate a badger he hit with his car"

I've always wanted to try lobster .. loL chickadee Im glad you got your proposal in on time .. && LOL at Jon Stewart.. He cuts NO ONE any slack at all !! He's hilarious!

I had a pretty good day yesterday all together, I've noticed I have more energy when I eat more calories. I know with my size, I probably need to eat at the very least 1500-1800. It's just the amount of calories that are suggested to me seem like SO MUCH. I would literally be eating all day long.. LoL.

Hey chicks!

chick: Nice job on getting the proposal on time thats great to hear! Oh & I never tried lobster but your dinner sounded really good. I am really looking foward too for things to be back to normal for myself as well. My eatind has just been too crazy and out of control for my liking these days I had a few stress ful situationg I had to deal with but now they are over so I can move on!

PHAT: I noticed I too have much more energy when I am eating more but I don't lose weight when I do that. Unfortunately the suggested calories for me is pretty low so I have no luck there.. I guess its the bad part of being short.

I got real busy yesterday and had no time to myself so I and didn't eat very well that day again Today I done a little better than yesterday so I hope I will do even better tomorrow.

4/13 Wednesday:

B- ww waffles w/ maple syrup + banana: 410
S- fudge brownie- 200
L- cheese paninni + pop chips: 320
S- blueberry smoothie- 230
D- lentil soup- 260
S- orange + 1 oz almonds- 180

OK, if either of you are ever in the DC area, I am taking you out for lobster!!! But it's going to have to be a planned higher-cal meal than mine last night, because it's MUCH yummier when you eat it with the butter it's served with instead of just lemon.

PHAT: You could definitely still lose weight on the higher calories, and if you're feeling hungry and have more energy when you eat a bit more then I think you should shoot for a range that's a little higher. It can only help keep you on-plan when you're not feeling deprived, you know? I eat at the range I do only because I seldom feel hungry, but if I felt hungrier I would definitely up mine a bit.

Bumblebee: I'm glad you'll be less busy soon! I definitely understand that one. Let's all dream of some time off, preferably somewhere exotic and sunny:

Wednesday, April 13
140 1 0 Grande Skinny Caramel Macchiatto
90 2.5 5 Fiber One bar
260 9 6 Multigrain vegetable lasagna

309 7.4 0.6 Grilled chicken and salad with light blue cheese dressing
140 1.5 3 Skinny cow ice cream sandwich

1015 21.7 16.9 19.24%

Exercise: 60 minutes on the treadmill

I need to eat something more before bed, but not sure what yet.

P H A T ... your tulips are gorgeous!!!

I have a question because I have a hard time finding something filling for breakfast and generally just skip it:
When you have the 2 eggs/bacon/hashbrown for 250 is that a frozen thing like from Jimmy Dean or something?? I WANT this breakfast but can't get it down to that low in calories.

Bumblebee: That sounds painful! My very first workout with the trainer at the gym left me with a ton of pain in my quads, and I sought some advice from others in the exercise forum here. They advised that continuing to do light workouts would actually help in getting rid of the pain, as the movement would help to work all the water out of the swollen muscles. I skipped a day at the gym and then got back to walking on the treadmill, and the walking plus plenty of water and a little Advil definitely helped my quads a lot. I hope you're feeling more comfortable soon!

Sorry I've missed a few days of posting my intake! All three days are below.

Thanks chick! I hope I start to recover in a few days, I've been taking some hot baths to help, and it has improved it a little. I was going to lay off on the workouts and just do easy exercise like walking this week until I am fully recovered. I never knew light workouts can actually help thats great to know! Thanks for that! By the way you did great these past couple days!
