CC Memorial Day Challenge

I have read this is observed on the 30th of may but is really the 31st of May~so we will run it til May 31st~that sound ok?) Can u believe It's time for a new Calorie Counters' Holiday Challenge? Everybody did great on the ARBOR DAY Challenge. Some of us met our goals, some of us only got partway there,some went the wrong direction, but we all put in a great effort, learned some lessons, made new friends, and supported each other... and that's what these challenges are for. Now, we're ready to set our sights on a new challenge, new goals, and the next 31 days of this journey! Here's how it works... Set a goal or goals that you would like to reach before Memorial Day , Observed on May 30th but actually on the 31st~ 2010 So we will end this challenge on the 31st. . Your goals can be anything: pounds you want to lose, a smaller clothing size or outfit you'd like to fit into, sports or fitness achievements, or just a goal of keeping food and exercise on track. Whatever gets you excited about working your plan over the next few weeks, is the right goal for this challenge. You can set as many or as few goals as you like. All are welcome! If you're not sure what your goal will be yet, but would like to join up and find some weight loss buddies, get and give support, please jump in, and you can post a goal later, when you think of something. Our main purpose is to motivate each other to keep the food on plan, keep exercising, keep getting leaner, more fit, and healthy. I WAS FAR FROM LAST CHALLENGE GOALS BUT GAVE IT ONE HECK OF A TRY~!
My goals for this challenge~I weighed 158.2 this morning My goal is to lose at least 3 pounds to take me to 155.2 or lower. And to Stick within my 1400 calories the whole 31 days! No going over even by 10 calories! If I can't fit it in ~I will not eat it!!~GOODLUCK EVERYONE! |
I'm going to challenge myself to get on the treadmill 3x a week and to do strength training with my resistance bands 3x a week.
I also challenge myself not to get so down about not seeing a loss on the scale. It WILL happen, eventually :) Whatever I lose this month will be awesome! |

I lost all motivation on my last challenge,didn't lose anything. SO...im making a come back on this challenge! I WILL SUCCEED! My goal for this challenge is to lose 5lbs, but first i have to get back to my lowest weight:p so actually i need to lose about 8lbs;) well,whatever i need to lose i will be here checking in and cheering on you awesome chicks! I want to be 160 by the end of May but because of my loss is slowing down, I will divide my goal in two. I also want to add a resistance routine to my daily life. My non weight goal is to finish the first and second parts of my thesis.
I want to be able to use all my size 12 clothes and some 10 by the end of this challenge! Cw: 167.4 Gw1: 165 (2.4 to go) Gw2: 160 (7.4 to go) |
hello all! I was really far from my challenge goals too, I was one of those people that for most of the challenge lost my motivation and went the wrong way. But thank God, I found my motivation again and was able to redeem myself the last few weeks! I ended up gaining ten pounds and then losing those ten pounds plus like 3 more so I at least I made some progress! I didn't weigh myself today and I still need to think about what my challenge goal will be, so I will put that info up tomorrow when I weigh in. congrats to everyone who made their goals!!!!!!!!

Today is my first full week of 100% everything that went into my mouth calorie counting. Usually I end up missing a day here or there, or a meal.
My goal is to continue this trend for May. Everything, everyday, gets recorded. Oh yeah, and lose 10 lb =) I'll post a SW tomorrow morning. |
I haven't done one of these before, but I'd love to join!! This morning I weighed in at 179.8, and I'd love to lose 5 pounds this month, so my goal is to be below 175!
I don't know if this is too much or too little, my body has been changing the way it loses weight as I'm getting closer to goal, so it's getting harder to predict!! I figure this is more than do-able! Thanks and I'm so glad to be here! |
I'm up for a challenge. I have 3 goals:
1. To lose 8 lbs., which would put me at 212. 2. To have at least 3 big servings of vegetables each day. 3. To stay on plan through the baby shower, husband's graduation, and sister-in-law's wedding that we have scheduled for the month. No cake or cheats at all. Eat as if I were home (except for the sodium, of course) at every meal. |

I haven't posted in the CC yet and I haven't ever done a challenge but I would love to and hopefully get to know some more awesome people! :) My goals will be to lose 5 lbs, and to work out atleast 5 times a week. Thanks for all your support in the Arbor Day Challenge. I would like to join this challenge too, but will be offline for another week or so (going to Texas due to my aunt's passing.) Hope to catch up with everyone when I get back. I am going to set a modest goal since I will probably end up gaining this week due to being on the road: CW: 229.9 Challenge goal: 224 (-50 lbs) So hopefully at least 6 lbs, but I'd certainly love to get farther :) See you guys later and have a great weekend. |

I will set more than one goal this time.. 1. Fit comfortably in my size 16 Traveling Shrinking Pants!! 2. Do whatever I gotta do to get in those pants!!! I think I made my Arbor Day Challenge depending on the brand of clothes you check. I got some new slacks in a size 16 that fit with the muffing top and a pair of size 18 pants that fit comfortably. I fit better in my Traveling Shrinking Pants than I did when the first arrived!! Hey everyone. Welcome to the new arrivals!! I'm in. I want to be at 210 by the end of this month. Given the rate at which I am currently loosing, that's a bit ambitious, but I'm going to shoot for it anyway! I also want to stick with the C25K program I started in April.

Hey guys! Back for another challenge. Thanks for all your kinds words in the last challenge. I'm finally done with school and now I'm going to give myself some "me time". So for this challenge just the last 3lbs i have to lose...well se will see what the starting weight is tomorrow but I want to make it to 115.
1) lost 3lbs 2) stay within my calorie range 3) keep not drinking pop 4) find a great job 5) pamper myself more! That should be good for now. I'm so happy to be with you again! |

I'm in. I've lost 27 pounds since the end of December and I need a little push. I hoping to find some extra motivation on these boards.
1) Loose 5 lbs (be at 170) 2) Do a varying calorie but average 1575 cal per day 3) Do 3 cardio hours and 3 weight training hours per week at the gym. Good luck to all of you! |

ok...i just weighed in and my head is hanging...ARG! Todays weight was 181.0 OMG...i did eat a lot of salty foods yesterday but DANG, I didn't think it was that much. So My goal for this challenge is to be at 170, yep 11lbs. Im pretty sure im holding onto a least 5lbs of water weight so in reality that's about 6lbs...will see.
There is one thing im going to cut out and that's Whiskey, i was doing GREAT yesterday but after a drink I dove into a box of fruity peebles:( so, no more whiskey. It lowers my will power... Today i plan on getting in some lower body weights, then some yoga. I may do some cardio later on the treadmill since im holding onto sooooo much water. The house is clean so i don't have anything else to do,LOL;) ok, later gators:cool: |
I'm in for another challenge ladies. My goals this month:
* Post at least once a week here. * Drop 10lbs this month (Current weight 295)- weigh in tomorrow. * Stay committed to going to the gym and working out with my personal trainer. * Continue rocking my awesomeness. Haha. I mean this one a lot. I go home to the USA in less than 61 days now and I can not wait for my family to see my progress so far. I am looking forward to a 2 month visit with them before I return to South Korea for another year of teaching and continue moving forward with my bf. Good luck to everyone in this challenge. If you need extra motivation feel free to join up on other challenges too. On May 31st the Biggest Loser Summer Challenge will be starting in another section of the 3fc forum. Welcome to all the newbies as well!! Well, I had a decently good weekend so far, but not according to the scale. ?. I gained 4 pounds!!! I have no idea how that happened...The only thing I can think of is I haven't been drinking enough water and TOM is soon so maybe it's water weight...Alright here are my goals: 1. my SW is going to be 263 and i'm going to shoot for 15 pounds on this challenge, making my goal weight 248. I hope I pass this with flying colors! 2. I want to exercise at least 6 days out of the week, 45-60 min each time, like I used to. 3. get all my water in, every day That should be about it I think. I really want to do well on this challenge. I kicked butt on the St Patty's day challenge and completely lost it during the Arbor day challenge. Another goal: keep my motivation up! Have a good day! |

You said you were outside all day yesterday at 80degrees, did you have any breathing problems?? Susie--Congrats on those size 12s...you'll be fitting comfortably into them in no time...that's what I'm hoping for too! In some brands they're still a little tight, but then others, they fit fine in the legs & loose in the stomach! WE'LL GET THERE SOON!!!! TOGETHER Jdon--CONGRATS on PASSING & GRADUATING!! How exciting! PLUS you did it all with losing weight! I'm such a stress eater, I probably would've gained during a time like that ( come to think of it, I probably did, just don't remember how much! Also, good idea not being too ambitious & realizing the loss is slowing...IMHO, setting a challenge goal too high can end 2 ways...it can drive you to go harder and attempt to reach it OOOOR it's totally undo-able and we get discouraged when we can't reach that challenge goal...i learned that after 3 or 4 failed challenges! haha Northern--Be safe going to TX! Once again, I'm sorry for your loss and wish you the best of luck staying OP while traveling! All we can do is try our best! Jiggle--I'm sure you'll be in those TSP 16's before the end of May...the way you WO, it'll probably be by the 15th! or sooner! mkyice--C25K is a great program...I did it at the beginning of the year...never thought in a thousand years I would run for 30min straight, but I did it! it didn't equal 5k(3mi), but it was just over 2...I need to work on going faster, but atleast I know I can jump on the TM and run for a good while (well, longer than used to!) SORRY about the lengthy post above, I've just been MIA for a couple days and wanted to comment on everyone!!! :)
As for me, I reported late yesterday evening that I surpassed my Arbor Day goal by 1.4lbs...SW:177.4, GW:172.4, CW: 171.0....AND I figured out I can live without chocolate! haha So, I'm gonna see how long I can go without having a piece of chocolate candy! And as for the donuts that come to the office every Friday, I'm gonna keep away from them also! But weighing only once a week, well I'm giving that up! haha I'm gonna weigh whenever, but since Memorial Day is on a Monday, I'm gonna change my official WI day to Monday... That being said, here are my goals for this challenge: 1) Lose 4lbs, taking me to 167.0 2) Fit into sz. 12 COMFORTABLY in most brands 3) Eat NOTHING 3hrs before going to bed (this is a big downfall for me, so I'm gonna set it as a goal for this month to try & create a new habit) OK Enough outta me for today! I'm off to do my 6th day on 30 Day Shred... BTW Jiggle, I've decided to measure after I complete each Level...I put on 2 different pairs of work pants Thurs & Fri (both size 14), and they are loose where they weren't loose before!! THANKS SO MUCH FOR INSPIRING ME TO GET 30DS!! I'm seeing results after just 5 WO's!!! |

This is my first week back at it so I figure its just an adjustment that Im trying to get use to. I do good all day but then I always go WAY over at dinner. I WILL get better though. Kdm~(krista) Had to wear my mask for about half the day until it reach about 75 degrees or so then I even got to take it off the rest of the day~so that was such a blessing~But It is low 70's today Very breezy & I went to town & Had 2 anxiety/asthma attacks in a row within 45 minutes of each other~Had to be anxiety~Even though the air was cooled cause I was wearing my masks & I talked to my mother on the phone which pissed me off before I went to town & had me in an emotional mess of mind~LOL DANG HER! ANYWAYS THANKS FOR ASKING! LOVE YA! Thanks for the hair comment ~I truly love my new do & wonder why I ever wanted long hair ever? BTW ~COME ON 160's!!!! WOOOOHOOOOOOO SO DANG PROUD OF U!!! KDM- They know I have been working hard to lose it. I sent my mother a picture of me at 65 or 75 lbs down and she said she probably would not recognize me when I get off the plane. So I stopped sending her pictures that way the additional change will be a suprise. I'm really excited about visiting home for a few months but really nervous because it will test everything that I have changed about my life here in South Korea. In South Korea you have limited access to bad foods so its easy to make good choices, and personal trainers and gyms are way cheaper here than in the US. So I'm just hoping and praying that I can make it through the 2 months well. I want to stay on plan with my calorie counting and my exercise and even hope for a 25lbs loss while I'm home for those two months. So we will see very soon how it goes.
That's another reason I am so excited to be leading the red team for the biggest loser challenge because I will be leading the team during my time at home so it will help keep me on track as well. |
Well I'm finally down to 107.1, lost a half a pound. I had 1100 cal. today. My husband and i are trying to do more things together, we are going to the buffet on Monday for lunch. I really need to lose more weight by then so I don't freak out when I step on the scale the next morning. lol

I'm pretty (brace yourselves) EXCIIIIIIIIITED!!! I put on my TSPs this morning and they are looking better and it hasn't been two weeks yet!! I know by the 16th they will be looking good on my dangerous curves. I bought a couple of outfits to show off at work!!! I can't wait until they see me. We went to the mall and walked for about two hours. I was really tired. I don't think I had enough to eat and didn't get all my water in. I'm adding that to my goals for this challenge. I will drink two liters of water a day even on the weekends. I'm still dealing with TOM and having unbelievable cravings (salty stuff, sweet stuff, just junk). I've been winning so far but that's thanks to my hubby. He says he won't let me do any damage because I've been doing so well. He's so sweet. This is one of the reason's I love him. Lori - LOVE LOVE LOVE the new avatar. You are working it girlie!! KDM - You are loving that 30ds and I told you it would get you some results. I've been trying to talk my husband into the Insanity videos. Here's to hoping.:crossed: You know what I just thought about...I'm going to do 30DS everyday and see how "shredded" I'm gonna be at the end. I like it.:D Shan - WOW 100lbs. Ok... So got on the scale to weigh in yesterday and I was down 2 lbs!:carrot: After not having a loss the week before I was so excited. Puts me at 203 so by goals
1.) lose 5lbs which would put me in ONDERLAND! and I would meet that goal over a month early. 2.) work out atleast 5 days a week. Also just wanted to say thanks to everyone that is so welcoming to the newbies:D |

I will travel to my country in June and I will see her after almost 10 years but I know that she will talk about how fat I am and how she can't accept fat people. Its funny because this morning after I weighed my self I set a goal to be in the 180s by June. I have just under 9 lbs to go. My other goal is to exercise more, aiming for 3x a week. |
