Shan- That is so exciting about your mom. I haven't seen mine since I started in Jan until the beach in July and she knows I am losing but hasn't seen any pics. Apparently though my sister (who lives with me) told her how good I am doing. I am excited to surprise her and the rest of the family! |
I'm not going to set a goal weight for memorial day, but my goal is to do 30DS everyday, at least until I'm used to it, and as I get used to it, tack on some more exercise each day to that. I'm going to keep track of what I'm eating, and not allow myself to be tempted by the bad foods I used to enjoy. (Except for the one night a week that my boyfriend takes me out to dinner.) Even then I'll still eat sensibly.

Okay. I am finally done with the arbor day challenge since I weigh on Sundays. Now I will choose for the Memorial Day one. I think I can lose 1.5 lbs/week, whic would put me at 206 for Sunday, May 30 weigh in. Crossing my fingers, and waiting for Robert to finish his breakfast so we can go geocaching and get some hiking in along the way.

Good Morning Ladies!!!
Im proud of myself today. Yesterday I was able to stay within my calorie allowance and not feel deprived at all. I am proud of myself but I think part of the reason I was able to stay OP all day was that I havent heard from DH (he's deployed) Ive noticed that when I dont hear from him I tend to eat less. When he first left I lost 10lbs in a couple of weeks. I gained it all back during the holidays though lol. Hopefully I will hear something soon. Have a GREAT Sunday everyone!!!! -Rox |

I wish I had your problem, not eating when the 'boy' is away, mine is the opposite. When he's gone I just munch and munch, when he's around I never snack. Not that mine travels much, I actually travel more than he does. I've got a ton of work to do, so hopefully everyone else enjoys their Sunday >.< |

ughhhhh~just got up from a long nap~I feel yuck! Must do my walking now I only did one time today ~I am at 1240 calories today(I aim for 1400) & In no mood too eat any more~May be getting sick~HOPE NOT! Proboly just feel cruddy from taking a long nap~My first one in months~its rainy & dreary today though~COME ON SUNSHINE 2morrow & I neeed the kids to be back in school~love em but It's been a long weekend!~LOL

I'm new to the Calorie Counters forum and this is my first challenge. So, I think that my first set of goals will be to: - Lose 5 lbs this month. I was 245ish at my heaviest. So, that will put me at 215lbs and 30lbs lost so far!!! - Learn how to jog. This might sound odd, but I have never been much of a jogger and I would like to build up my endurance and start working jogging into my routine. -Fit into a size 18 pant. My 20's are starting to feel a little lose, but the 18s are too snug. Hopefully they will fit soon! |

I had another OP day, I think Im starting to get the hang of staying within my calorie range. I think my downfall will be eating out. My mom wants to have breakfast in the morning and lunch on Tuesday. I know I should plan ahead so that I stay within my allowance but Im still nervous about going over. I FINALLY heard from DH. Such a relief. Its like when I get off the phone with him I take a deep breath in and Im just holding it till he calls again and I can breathe again. I know there are alot of wives out there that go long periods of time without hearing from there husbands. I hear from DH pretty much everyday so when I dont hear from him, I KNOW something is wrong or something has happened. Luckily DH has been relatively fine through all these incidents. Shan your doing awesome!!! I cant wait till you tell us about your families reaction to seeing you. Krista My WI day is Monday as well. Keeping my fingers crossed for a loss tomorrow. Just a general question but when yall marinade something do you count all the calories for the marinade? I marinaded something earlier and when I took it out to grill it most of the marinade was still in the ziploc and I just threw it out, I didnt pour it over the meat or anything. Should I still count all the calories for it? What would you do? |
SugarRox: I usually measure the left over marinade, then use that to figure out how much actually soaked in. As for dining out, I try to stick with fish grilled with just a small amount of Oil, and steamed veggies. Most places with have that. If not I stick to a salad with some protein.
Any reocommendations on a good yoga dvd for home? I need to stretch more and there are so many out there. |
Good Morning...I know it's oooweee early in the morning for me. I went to bed too early last night but I was tired.
Digital - I started jogging a couple of months ago and the way I did it was in intervals. I would walk for five minutes and jog for one minute. I would alternate and as my body adjusted I adjusted my intervals. Now I'm up to doing incline walking and jogging. I walk 2 minutes and jog 3. A couple weeks ago I tested my endurance and actually ran a whole mile. I was excited but I didn't do it again. I went back to the intervals. I've gotten good results with that. KDM - I'm getting ready for day two of my experiment of 30 straight days of 30DS and I'm expecting those jeans to be an easy fit by Memorial Day. I will also incorporate going to the gym 3 days a week. Just for an added push. I got to get into a 16 by the 16th no later than the 30th. Sugar - When you eat out, check to see if the restaurant has nutrition information online, that way you can kinda see what you want to spend your calories on and manage your daily allowance. Lori - Hope today's a better, less sleepy day. I almost wish I could get all the sleep I think I want. But with a toddler and hubby, not gonna happen...LOL I fell asleep early but not before getting all my water in and then some. I know it's early but I'm thinking I should go ahead and do my workout. I'm going to the gym today on my lunch break to get in a mile on the treadmill and a little lifting. I think I had too much salt this weekend and am retaining water. Anywho, I gotta go and get started on the water so I can finish flushing out my body. I'll check in again in about 6 hours to see what I did and I will have a jump on those liters of water. I was just reading over this post and it sounds like I'm wired already. |

Im doing a little happy dance because the water weight is FINALLY coming off. im down 3lbs since getting back on plan Saturday! Fitin10~I picked up Rodney Yee's A.M yoga at walmart a few months ago and since then it has been my go-to yoga dvd(and i have several by him, can't go wrong with Rodney). The makers are Gaiam. The dvd consist of 5-20minute yoga workouts. I love it! I also have The biggest Loser weight loss yoga and its super challenging...i recommend it too. Lori-I forgot to comment on your super hot pic...looking good girlfriend! I hope you felt better yesterday. Sugar-Glad to hear you heard from your hubby! Count me in. I have been doing so well during the week and then Friday night and Saturday nights I tank. We spend a lot of time with my brother inlaws family those nights and we hang out, eat and drink. I was not tto bad until the flippin' coconut cream pie...though my slice was small and worst...I don't even like pie!!! The Saturday night, I did try to fill my plate with lots of salad, but had about 3 rum and diets. Those I don't think I wanna give up. But the macadamia nut turtles!!!! Those I did not need at all! So, those confessions out of the way.

Well I had a fairly decent weekend, yet I'm up still!!! 263.5!!! What is going on here?!!!! I'm hoping for some dramatic weight drop this week. But i do have to remind myself that weight does fluctuate and I can't be too upset...grr!!!!!

Rain Rain Go Away!!
It is raining cats and dogs here and I didn't get my morning workout done because it started storming and we cut stuff off when it's thundering and lightening. So I went back to bed. Then I went to go to the gym and it looks like I should be building an ark. :rain::rain::rain: So I will definitely be going to gym after work. I have to do 30DS before bed so I can make my 30 consecutive days. Couldn't let my hair be a frizzy mess and come back to the office. Anywho, I'm working on a third liter of water. :) I'm feeling good today. The cookie monster :devil: put out more cookies but it's funny to me now.
Lori - I took a pic of my outfit today and will post it today hopefully. I think I look really cute. :D Farn - It wasn't on purpose. I just woke up as the storm was rolling in and checked on the baby then I was UP!! She woke up before I could go back to sleep but I did get to sleep. He wanted to go there from months so I was unable to say NO to him. I tried to stay on plan but because the calories for the food were not available I do not know how close or far I was from my calorie range. Then yesterday I have a cooking fever, I was cooking all day and I try what I cook but I was unable to track the calories. I think that this Sunday cooking craziness may have been caused by staying on the same number for more than a week although I was on plan each and everyday. I can believe it but I’m out of 167 today! It may sound silly but after losing around 2 pounds per week to stay almost 2 weeks on the same weight has been awful!!! Sw: 167.4 Cw: 166.4 Gw1: 165 (1.4 to go) Gw2: 160 (6.4 to go) WL: 1.0 |
My WI today was 162...that makes my goal of 154 an 8lb loss.
Fitin10 I also suggest the Biggest Loser Weightloss Yoga, I really liked that one. Jiggle Ive been trying to look up calories before I go out so that Im prepared but its a little hard when we eat at little local family owned resturants. I think I did ok at breakfast this morning. I went a little over on the calories I usually eat for breakfast but I think if I just keep lunch and dinner light I should be ok :) Aluxa Thank you. There are times when I dont feel so strong at all, but we've made it this far and Im SO glad that this deployment is finally coming to an end. I cant wait to see DH in a few weeks. |

One of the places I like to look at exercise DVDs is Collage Video, on line. They have tons of DVDs and even a preview option. That site might be common knowledge around here. Today would be my normal weigh in day, but I was a total spaz yesterday while I was picking up my front yard and tweaked my back.:dizzy: Went to the back cracker today. It will take a few days before I can totally stand straight again. I guess thats what I get for doing yard work instead of my regularly scheduled program...:D Hope everybody is having a grand Monday:carrot: |

Hope everyone had a great monday and a good weekend! I always struggle with mondays. I think because I work all week and then when its suppose to be my weekend, I'm doing school work. lol... Today was good though, ran 2 of the 3 miles I did today. Been working up to do a 5k but going much slower than others because of a knee surgery i had not to long ago.
Jiggle- that storm is suppose to be hitting us tonight and tomorrow, I'm dreading it. Did you have any flooding? |

Well, the scale is up almost a lb today and of course im rolling my eyes at that because i have been OP since Saturday:D I was VERY proud of myself yesterday and this morning. NO BIRTHDAY CAKE, and honestly i have no desire to eat it. I know it will make me feel bad if i do and i don't want to stall my weight loss :yes: Lori-blue nail polish all over your floor:o glad you got most of it up. My DD spilled some hot pink nail polish on the carpet when we first moved in and I had no success at getting it up. Used nail polish remover and I also used Windex then vinegar(read on the internet about the Windex, vinegar) How did you get yours up? Beachlover-nice run yesterday! Hope you avoided the bad storms. They came through here sunday night but it was just heavy rain. Tink2lose-I love Collage video too, i like that i can go on there and read all the reviews and see video clips. I did my 30 Day Shred workout this morning and got my clothes for my gym workout. I will go at lunch or after work. I've gotten a liter of water in already and working on the second. Yesterday I did three liters. YAY ME!! I went to the gym after work but I didn't get my 30DS in before bed. The rain is gone and nothing will stop my progress anymore...hopefully. It's supposed to rain again this weekend. Beachlover - Brace yourself for the rain. If is anything close to what we had you need a boat. Hey y'all, sorry I've MIA the last few days.
Did my monthly measurements this morning, I was hoping for more, it FEELS like it should have been more - but oh well. I lost 4.5 inches total this past month (waist, hips, bra band, breast, arm, calf, neck, thighs). Do you all who've lost larger amounts find that the loss is smaller each time as you get smaller?? I'm sooo ready to make my 50 pounds lost mark. Since I've been on TOM I've only been checking my weight on the schizo bathroom scale and it's been all over the place - all up! From .5 to 4 pounds! So I haven't gotten on the Wii Fit. I don't want it to permenantly stamp in a higher weight! Is that sad and pathetic of me? I want to wait till that bathroom scale goes lower than it was on my last official weigh in before I get back on the Wii. I've been totally OP with calories and exercise all weekend and yesterday. So that scale MUST move down soon! I'm happy to see so many new challenge buddies! It's also good to see many from the old challenge that are re-invigorated! Let's all keep up our good work and make these Memorial Day goals!! I for one may FAINT when I see the 180's!! For some weird reason, 8 has been my favorite number for many years. Back from my long weekend in Chicago. I haven't done any exercise since Thursday and I'm jonesing for it! Gonna get on the treadmill again tomorrow morning. I can still get my 3x work out this week done, so that's good.
I'm pleased with the fact that the scale only had me up .5 pounds from Friday while I was in Chicago for the past 3 days: - I didn't count calories, but made good choices regardless. - I drank plenty of water. - I consumed some rum and diet dr pepper goodness. - Had no exercise. - TOM started Sunday. We'll see what the scale says after TOM is gone ;) |
well wtf.....not a good way to start a post, so you all know where this going! haha, my weight went up again!! I exercised, stayed OP, even stayed under calorie range, and drank way too much water yesterday! how could I not have lost?!!!! I knew my body hated me, but I didn't know this much!!!

Sorry this is gonna be short, but I gotta do 30DS before work AND have to leave early because the nearly 20 inches of rain that Nashville got over the weekend has flooded many of the roadways I take to work! So we have to go almost 20miles north out of our way to get down to Nashville...
If you all haven't seen it on your local news, Nashville suffered SEVERE flooding this past weekend...and then it got worse yesterday when they released some Dams upstream...and it's taken many ppl victim, so unfortunately, I've been very busy at work :( It flooded in places that have NEVER EVER flooded before...and I guess ppl didn't think it would get bad and didn't leave their homes, then they got trapped...it's soo sad!!! or you have the idiots (I know, harsh, but it's true) who try to cross water over the road and either get stuck & get out then washed away OR their car gets swooshed away!!! Please keep the affected families of Middle TN in you're thoughts and prayers as they have lost alot, property & loved ones :( My weight is up today, but I ate pizza yesterday AND barely 1liter of water! When I usually have 4-5 liters! AND TOM should be here any day...so I'm not worried about it...I'm still seeing results in my dress pants for work...I just bought size 14 black pants like a month ago, and 2 pairs don't have belt loops...well I wore a pair yesterday and they drove me nuts!! having to keep pulling them up!!! but i guess it's a good thing! haha I"m gonna do my measurements on Thursday so that I'll have completed Level 1 of 30DS!! WELCOME to all the NEWBIES!!! You're gonna love this challenge!! And everyone else, Keep on Keepin' On!! You all rock!!
