It's my first biggest loser challenge too. I taught ESL for a few years over seas. I just moved bck to North America to get married and come to the US ( im canadian, my husband is american) I was looking into how to work in north america doing ELL and whatnot. Are there any specific courses to take for ELL in the US? I have a degree in english and a few years experience. ANyway.. good luck with the challenge! Are you on any specific plan? Bjeweled: UMMMM I have been looking for my inner beyonce too!! hehe I call my weigtloss plan my BEYONCE BOOTCAMP! hehe She's BEAUtIFUL! |
I wish it was easier to get up in the morning to workout. Sometimes I can jump right out of bed and other times I just lay there telling myself: get up, get up, get up!!!!. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. If I didn't have a son and husband to cook for every evening it would probably be easier to workout after work. But I know that living in the real world, you just have to get your butt out of bed and do whats gotta be done. Does anyone else find it hard to workout in the morning before work? If so, what are some of your motivators to get up in the morning?
Today I did TBL2 workout for 45mins and it seemed to really kill my legs. They are still sore from working out on Sunday afternoon. I guess I'm just working some different muscels then what I am use to. |

Do any of you blue chicks work the midnight shift?
I am considering a job change. The only drawback to the new job is that it requires working shifts...mostly midnights. I have worked normal business hours for the past 12 years. I just got into a routine of walking everyday. Question: Is it more difficult to maintain an excersise programand eat OP when you work shifts? |

I usually manage to drag myself out of bed even when I want to stay there because I tell myself that I am not going to fully go back to sleep, I am just going to lay there and beat myself up for noy getting up or because I am feeling guilty for not getting up, so I might as well get out of bed and go workout. 9 times out of 10 it usually works, but occassionally it takes me a little extra time to convince myself. |
I just popped in to wish you all a great first week and to share this if you have not seen it:

Does your toddler take naps or have quiet time? Use that time to move around, or if you'd rather stay quiet, do yoga, stretch or lift weights at that time. |

My 2 y.o. grandaughter is a great workout! She loves me to chase her. Then lift her high above my head over and over till my arms are shaking. Then sit in a chare with my legs crossed and her on my foot while I repeatedly bounce my legstraight out. She weighs 27 lbs...so it is quite the workout for me and she loves it too! |
Good Morning Blue Team.
I'm back from work and it is 9:37 a.m. Still plenty of day left to workout and uh... take a nap before my meeting tonight. lol. Practiceliving: the only way I can get up so early is going to bed early and thank God my work days are very short. Christina: I will be praying for you Mom. Hugs. Dora: Today is a new day. No worries about the weekend. Kelly: I always watch the show the day after because of my bedtime but I do watch it while riding my recumbant bike so yep, back to it. Well, I'm off to do some household chores. Blessings all, Annie |

Keeping Busy
Good Morning Team!
I have had a full healthy breakfast and am ready to start the day. I'm super busy at work so that will keep my mind off of eating "handibles" - or things like chips, crackers or other things that I can just grab and eat. I have been journaling my foods and so far so good. I hope to have a productive first Biggest Loser Challenge. GO BLUE!http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/18/18_1_36.gif ~Paula |
So I have big news! I'll be starting a new job on October 1st! I'm very excited about it. One of the nice benefits is that it's closer to home, and the shorter commute will give me a whole extra HOUR every day! There'll be no more excuses about not having time/energy to get some exercise then.

djay - I don't work night shifts, but my fiance sometimes does. Honestly, we both HATE it. We barely get to see each other, and we both sleep poorly when he's on nights. We both tend to snack more, as well, because we're less inclined to cook dinner when it's just one of us at home. He still does get in exercise though, usually right after he's woken up/just before I get home. I think it's a VERY personal decision - I have friends who love night shifts, but it isn't good for FH and me! scarahjs - Can your husband help with cooking dinner some nights, so that you can take your son out for a walk/bike ride/trip to the park? The only thing that works for me to work out early in the morning is knowing how incredible my post-workout shower will be! :P KimProbable - Getting back to your initial weight DOES help the team - it's NOT a gain! Just keep that general direction going down! Heheh. dgramie - I'm a big House fan too! I can't wait to see what happens this season after that great finale last season! Jaime - Hope you have some fun tonight to make up for last night's frustrations! |
I don't have much time, but wanted to at least pop in quick....
With exercising in the morning, I go in spurts. If I am up early enough, I will do some cardio or yoga in the morning. I LOVE the way I feel when I start the day this way. I get up at 6:15 to get ready for work, so it's really hard to be up earlier than that to exercise. If I am awake, I will do it, though! I do go to the gym right after work--I don't go home first, if I do, my chances of exercises are greatly reduced! I will be watching tonight!!! My workout will be done long before the show starts. If I exercise too late, I have a really hard time sleeping. Besides, I like to snuggle w/ the dogs (and dh) and watch tv at night. Have a great OP day everyone!!!! |
