Well, a pretty good day for most of us it appears (praying Tawny is okay)
Chelle - Yeah, that is an amazing amount of exercise already! Thanks for keeping the challenge . . . well . . . challenging! And what a cute coffee/tea cup, with a little chickie!!! As to the QOTD, here's what I'm doing: * Setting out 3/24oz bottles of water for each day's consumption * Planning food intake for the next day by "testing" the calorie count first in Fit Day * Doing then Logging my exercise on my home calendar (and on the 3FC log) daily so we can "get there yet". * Preparing next day's food, so no food choices are random, I do poorly here if left to my own decisions on the fly. Like Kelly, this part of my routine has been lacking, but no more. * Keep my onderland goal for my birthday in the forefront of my thoughts, keeping me motivated * Checking in here at our chat room for all your inspiration and encouragement Jo - Thanks for being here to cheer us on. You were right, Jillian has the parents and kids, Bob has the couples. You are also right on about visualizing how transformed we can be in just 13 weeks. You see it on the show - so you know how ultimately possible it is - so why not us???? This is my first season watching, and I was teary-eyed like Manick and Stacey. Perhaps Ginger, you'll get more involved as someone else said, when we get to know them better. Congrats to Brenda, staying on plan for 7 days, :cp:then stating "the control kicks in" - that's the spirit. Supposedly it takes 21 days to develop a new habit, so we're a third of the way there. Congrats to djay too for the big increase in activity. You rock!:carrot: One note of "inspiration" or maybe "butt-kicking".:kickbutt: When you state your goals, do like Rhonda and say "I will, I am, I will not allow, I do ___", instead of "I plan to, I hope, I'll try, I have to." Your mind is pretty straight forward, it believes what you tell it. Just like a computer, garbage in, garbage out. Tell it you will make daily investments in your body, you will make wise food choices, etc., and it will respond accordingly - like an automatic pilot. Leave no doubt, say your confirmations often and they will become fact. Okay, off my soapbox. :soap: Good going everyone!!! Dora |

Hey Blues-ers.
Right, can I get some accoutability going here. Its day 4 of being back from holidays and I still havent been out running. I keep telling myself I will go and then finding excuses. I am hereby giving everyone permission to kick my *** if I dont log atleast 30 minutes of exercise tonight, at least 20 of which must be running. On a completely different note, when is a binge not a binge? Yesterday, while the boys were away, the girls got to play (the boy and I share with another couple). We headed off to the super market, got ourselves a couple of cheap, fluffy girlie DVDs and some food for the evening. Usually when this happens, the menu going something like this - 2 bottle of wine, large pizza, large bag of lays, tub of onion and garlic dip, chocolate, coke, and a few other nibble thing like spring rolls and spare ribs. Basically a binge lasting the entire evening. Last night, I had diet coke, no booze, homemade semame chicken toast (granted it was deep fried), chicken and veg stirfry with home made sauce and a cup of noodles and finally 4 sqs of whole nut chocolate. At the moment, I feel both bad and good about this. Bad because I ate way too much last night, good because, wow, it could have been so much worse and the scale didnt show any gain this morning. Not sure there is any real point to this, I am just amazing and feeling slightly confused. Yesterdays dinner would have been a 'pat on the back' kind of day before I started making better choices, now it makes me feel kinda gross...weird how things change. Now for the all important thing, back on plan today. Keep up the good work blues-ers |
irishkatt-Planning ahead to minimize the damage when you know you will be off plan is fantastic! Congrats on keeping it in control. You Rock!
But (isn't there always a but?) you MUST finish the cheaters accountability by following through with lots of water and excersise! I have found that the pounds don't always come off the day after I do really good and they don't always come on the day after a binge either...They lay there silently waiting until you are sure you got away with it and you go to put on a new pair of jeans...then...AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH! So that is your a$$ Kicking for the day...Get moving chickie! And I expect the same when I need it! :) |

Had a lovely OP day yesterday. Ate pretty well, exercised nicely, and am feeling very positive indeed :) (Those push-ups are really working me!) I had a Subway sub & a lite latte last night instead of the Chili topped with Cheese & Sour Cream and tortilla chips that my friend was offering at his place. I weigh-in tonight. Good Morning Blue Team! Here goes the positive self talk . . . I will walk for 30 min on my lunch break. I will stay on plan all day. I have a ton of homework I am trying to catch up on and I can't seem to make time for everything so exercise has taken a backseat. A good friend :hug: gave me the suggestion to walk during my lunch break so that is my plan for the day. I feel weird about walking outside because it's outside of my comfort zone, but I need to just do it. :) Hope everyone has a great OP day! |

Today is on-plan day 4 and I'm feeling the love!:D Daily plate is working like a charm. I'm finding that seeing everything I eat does make me more aware. And, trying to make my "pie" show 40% carbs, 30% protein and 30% fat has made me more diligent with my healthy choices. I also did quite a bit of reading about the visceral fat (internal fat) around our organs...what causes it and how to get rid of it. This is the fat that they were showing some of the contestants on Biggest Loser. Turns out, eating healthier and getting lots of cardio is the ticket. Yet another incentive for me to exercise. Quote:

Jen - Go Girl, Go! I'm so proud of you! Today, I had a hard time getting out of bed. I'm very much a night owl, but have to get up to get the kids off to school and start working. So, today's goal is to be in bed by no later than 11pm. I know that getting enough rest helps me avoid the need to look for sugary carbs to help me get through the day. First off... Just do it! Gof or your run. Once you drag yourself out of the house and whatnot you will feel so good once you are back in the swing of it. I always find getting started is the hardest part. but once your started you will say to yourself...'why did I wait four days for this? Let me know how it went! And about binging: I have trouble figuring out what a binge is too. I was traveling for a few weeks and ate a million times better than I used to.. but still not how I knew I should. I started my binge free days to 0 for this challenge.?But I really don't think you had a binge... you planned your meal and stuff.. so its not a binge :) Im noticing my skin feels looser than it used to be. Ive always been worried that as I lose more weight I will get lots of loose skin.I know im not doing enough weight training and plan to join a gym for that once I get moved and stuff to kentucky. In the mean time, does anyone have in suggestions? |

Loose skin is a fact of weight loss. It just... is. I have some. And can tell where it's going to be when I get down to goal. Oh well! Rather be at goal than fat. Another fact, is that sometimes you might find yourself feeling "floppier" before you feel firmer. Apparently, (and I read this on 3FC but unfortunately cannot find the link) it's perfectly natural to feel "jigglier" because the first fat that we lose is the fat that is marbled within the muscle. The fat that isn't within the muscle then sags a bit and becomes... mushier. I'm in this stage now. It's quite annoying. Although, does make me happy to know I've worked away some fat and it's not just the "superficial" fat that needs to get on its way out! |
I worked out this morning and that felt great!!! For once this week I am not tired, probably because I went to bed a little earlier then normal. I also have a The Light The Night Walk tonight, so that will be a little more exercise I can count on for today.
