I'm so hungry tonight. Had a good healthy dinner and it feels like I haven't eaten in hours! Going to go to bed though...

Hey ya'll,

Just checking in. I've had an "off" day. Thought I had it all planned out and nothing happened the way I want (workout, food, life in general). DH would call this one of my down days. I'm pretty sure it's the week before TOM. I'm usually a terribly upbeat person, but today everything's getting me down.

So tomorrow I go to the doctor for my self-imposed weigh in (say instead of going to WW or whatever...I made a promise that I would go to my physician and weigh-in every month this year). This will be second weigh in. I weighed 269 lbs. Dec 28th and tomorrow I should weigh roughly 257-258, it will be in the afternoon with all my clothes on, so maybe 259. BUT STILL....that's a huge improvement and I hope she will be impressed.

I'm hoping this challenge will keep me motivated through future weigh-ins with her because I tend to fall off the wagon after the first month, or once the weight loss slows. I'm hoping to hang in there.

Cheers, Ginger

Mom-why don't you have a healthy snack like a yogurt or something like that? It usually helps me when I'm hungry, and it's not like you're hurting yourself with some nice strawberry yogurt! ^_^

Good morning, Bluesers!

I have to keep it short and sweet today. I've got a presentation to complete and I'm already running late....yikes, I'm feeling anxious and must be careful to stay out of the kitchen today. It doesn't help that I'm working on about 4 hours of sleep. My MIL woke us at 3:00 this morning. She hurt her head and was bleeding. She is okay, but I'm exhausted.

Today is day 4 of counting calories. So far, its working well for me as the scales are smiling. I won't reveal their "secrets" yet. My official weigh-in is on Monday. I didn't get on the treadmill again yesterday. I had a very upset stomach. Too much coffee maybe?

I have read everyone's posts, but just don't have time to get up-close-and personal right now. I'll check in again later today.Hope everyone has a great on-plan day!

Morning Everyone

I'll probably be really short and sweet this morning since I'm still very tired and a lot of things are bothering me. I apologize in advance, just not in the mood to talk it out this morning. I'll probably bury myself in paperwork and blogs until I feel better.

I got a call yesterday afternoon that my puppy was puking up round worms and destroying our carpet. We knew she was sick and we had given her medicine last week. Yesterday was supposed to be her second round of treatment with the over the counter stuff we had bought. Anyway, Daniel said it was pretty bad so I ended up having to take her to the vet last night. The doctor ran like 3 tests and gave me four different kinds of medication to give her. Not only did she have round worms, she has yeast infections in both ears and the doctor told me she's going to be an allergy dog because she has a few spots on her that equate to what humans would consider blackheads. Evidently bull terrier are common skin allergy dogs.

So I ask the vet how I can diagnose what she's allergic to so I can get rid of it (because we just put her on one of the best dog foods on the market.... she was eating Ol' Roy at the breeder ) So the vet tells me I can take her to a dermatologist, have them shave her down and do the "human" allergy tests on her or have blood work sent off. Either way we are talking big bucks.

So I go to leave the vet and pay for the visit. I'm thinking its going to be about $150. OH NO! Try $270! I almost fainted. After putting gas in my car a couple times this week and having to get lunch, my entire week's check is gone now. Looks like I won't be paying the Verizon bill this week after all.

Anyway....I get the dog home and struggle giving her ear drops and ear wash because she wants to shake the medicine everywhere. Dinner was very late and I didn't get time to exercise cause I was exhausted. I tried to go to bed at 10, but the dog screamed and cried in her crate all night long. She just wouldn't lay down for some reason.

And to top it all off... Aunt Flow is waning and I'm still at 200.5 on the scale.

Can this week get any worse?

hey guys! i did not get to have dinner last night. Kids had a swimming birthday party, and I went straight from there to drum circle. So while the number on the scale is not 'true', I am posting it as my weigh in. And maybe the trick is to stop eating at 4 PM. Truth is, I was horribly hungry when I went to bed last night.

Chelle--I am sorry your puppy is sick. I can't even think about what the doggie dermatologist would cost!

Chelle -- That stinks! My sister's dog is a pug/pekingese mix, and she has all kinds of allergy issues. She did find one skin treatment that seems to work (at least it keeps Pigger from gnawing her tail off). It's from Drs. Foster & Smith, and I think it's just called Sever Allergy Kit or something like that. Anyways, it keeps her from having to get allergy shots.

Also, many dogs have allergies to corn. Check the food and any treats to see if corn is a primary ingredient (it's used as filler in many, many dog foods and treats). If so, you might want to try switching to one of the brands that's corn free. I use Blue Buffalo brand (which they sell at Petsmart), and it's corn free.

Chell, I am so sorry your puppy is sick. Poor little baby. I had a kitty cat, Stimpy, and he was MY baby and he was 12 1/2 yrs old. Still very active and ran around and played, but he also had a yeast infection in his ears. Well that quack doctor who I STILL wanna kill to this day gave him some antibiotics and prednizone(sp). Well the predizone KILLED my cat. It messed up his tummy really bad, caused him a great deal of pain. We rushed him over to another vet after the quack refused him treatment, and after over $300, he ended up dying anyways. It was VERY tramatizing for me and for him. The reason I wanna kill that quack is because he took my healthy cat, (besides the yeast thing) and killed him. When I called crying and basiclaly begging this man to please help my cat, his answer to me was "Your cat is old, he was gonna die anyways" and he REFUSED to help us. WHAT A JERK!

Anyway, the reason for that story is, maybe the meds are upsetting your puppies belly, so please be careful.

Hi all! To those that are struggling To those that are doing well

I have confirmed what I suspected for a long time. I've been calorie counting and tracking my food for the last 2 weeks. Looking back at everything I have found a very noticeable pattern. The more protein I eat at breakfast the less I tend to eat overall. Now my breakfasts are planned as well as my dinners. I am also back down to my starting weight finally.

I still feel like AF will be coming soon. I have PCOS so it is usually a mystery when she shows up. I would like her to just get here as I am one of those weird people that often drops pounds that week and the next and then I hold onto weight for a few weeks until she comes again.

Chelle - I hope your puppy is feeling better soon. Tia sends puppy kisses.

More posts later, I'm covering for a co-worker on vacation, so I'm busier than normal.

This is why I think about 98% of dieting "knowledge" is crap. This works for you. When I was doing only eggs and turkey bacon for breakfast with the same idea in mind, I was ready to eat the kids by 10 AM. I have to have at least 1/2 piece of toast or 1/2 cup steel cut oats for me to get through the morning.

So you and I could read the same book, follow the same program, etc, but we would still feel very differently about results and overall well being.

Kinda silly QOTD: What kind of athletic shoes do you wear? Different ones for different activities, or does 1 pair work for everything you do?

I know - usually I do eat when I'm hungry! I was already at my calorie limit for the day and it wasn't like I was going to faint or anything!

Zinke - I also notice that with protein in the am. I don't always manage it though.

Chelle - so sorry about your dog.

Rhonda - glad the counting is working for you.

Ginger - hang in there! You're not going to lose momentum this time! Yeah, sure the weightloss will slow down, but not our committment. We're going to see this through.

Anna - drum circle? Cool! How often do you do that? Do you perform? P.S. I'm making soup tonight!

OK, gotta get going this morning. I have a personal training session this am at 9. I know he's going to kill my lower body again.
