Quick hola, Goldens!

Lynn - yes, please, I'd love the list from Netflix... There are several others that I've seen that I didn't mention (i.e., Kingdom, The Land Girls, etc.)... I'm always on the lookout for good DVDs! Thank you!

Miss Molly - you're just a BABY! Wait until you're our age and try to lose weight! Bah, I say, BAH! You're welcome in our group!

Nothing to report. I've spent the entire weekend reading, pretty much. My eyeballs are circling on their own, but I'm fat, happy, contented, and relaxed!

Hope your day is going well! Later, lovelies!

Good Evening..not much going on here today.
I made some peanut butter doggie treats that both dogs love and super simple. I used a very small 1.5" round cookie cutter and got 120 treats, baked only 10 minutes. The instructions say 2" apart? Naw...they don't spread out so you can put 30 or more to a cookie sheet.

Quote:
Peanut Butter Dog Treats
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 cup unsalted natural peanut butter
1 cup skim milk
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets. Stir together the flour and baking powder; set aside.
In a medium bowl, mix together the peanut butter and milk. Stir in the flour mixture until well blended. Turn out dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth. Roll out to 1/4 inch thickness and cut into shapes using cookie cutters. Place 2 inches apart onto the prepared cookie sheets.
Bake for 12-20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until lightly brown. Remove from cookie sheets to cool on wire racks.
Rosey...I don't eat margarine but real butter is a must. I suppose they recommend coconut or olive oil. Ranch dressing has MSG in it, that's a no no if anyone is prone to headaches.

Welcome Miss Molly! Please join us even if you are the baby of the bunch.

The new puppy is wearing Bruce out and tonight he's taking over Steve's job of being Mr. Cranky Pants. Lynn & Donna...sometimes I envy you single girls. I better go and rescue Ollie and take him upstairs with me. We don't want to be around you know who.

Today's stats:

Cals 1564
Fat 69H
Chol 105
Sodium 1856
Carbs 193 (net) a little higher than I'd like but bs haven't been bad
Fiber 28
Calcium 130% (doesn't include supplements)

Rosey I don't agree totally with the list either. I use small amts of butter and Smart Balance (not sure if that's included under margarine) dill pickles on sandwiches now and then, and occasionally mayo, processed cheese and flavored yogurt. I drink diet soda only when eating out usually although very rarely we will share a 20 oz when we have a pizza. I am beginning to get away from the flavored yogurt. The rest we do not use/ consume.

Good Morning, just going to post my menu and run. I ate very light yesterday since I made oatmeal coconut cookies the day before and didn't stop until I at 7 or 8. What a pig!

As to the list Rosey posted, some of that stuff has chemicals, additives to preserve it. If you make your own yogurt, Ranch dressing and mayo, I don't think it applies.

Good morning GG's,

It was such a beautiful day yesterday. We had Maddie all day because of Martin Luther King Day. With the extra time and because it was such a beautiful day, we went on a bike ride. We have a whole network of beautiful bike and hike paths in our town. We went to the children's museum which is close enough to be able to get to by bike. Spent a while there, then back on the bikes and went to one of the many little parks that our town has. Spent a while there playing, then back on the bikes and on to another park ~ one Maddie likes because it has ducks, and she is able to catch them and hug on them. Spent a bit there, Maddie had a snack, then we headed home ~ got back just as it was getting dark. 1 hour and 20 minutes approximatley of riding. I am hoping that there will be more opportunities like this before the weather gets too hot.

Eating pretty good, the scale went down a little bit today. So, a wonderful day all around.

Yippee ~ sun shiny again today. It is like a dose of good medicine for me ~ kind of makes me feel more like doing stuff, and helps boost my mood.

Hope you all have a good day.

Good morning gg's. We are getting another artic blast. 71 yesterday 27 tonight. I'm sure some of you would love to be 27 compared to what y'all usually get.
Yesterday evening the devil was tempting me to eat some chocolate animal cookies. I avoided temptation by eating a yogurt. It passed. Again this morning I wanted something sweet. I grabbed a diet coke with my lunch and that seemed to help. Sometimes I get so tired of water. I use the crystal light flavors but u still get tired of those too.
We are invited to some friends camp Friday night. Gosh it's so hard to stay on tract camping. I have until February 28 at thus camp and then it will be better on weekends. I do ok at home.
Tonight I'm cooking for our youngest sons birthday. He turns 22 Friday. He bought himself a fine birthday present. A durax diesel 4 door 4x4 truck. He's wanted one like that for years.
Nothing new going on here today.

Work calls
Hugs

Hi Everyone,

Uh-oh! Just agreed to take on another course. This one was being taught by another faculty member & her husband died. The University needs someone who will step in and finish the last week of the course.

Typically, I do not teach more than one course at a time, but I could not say "no" to this one. Will be interesting to see how another faculty member teaches the course that I teach.

Snowing like crazy here in Eastern PA. Started this morning & we already have snow up to cars' bumpers.

Luckily, I have been cooking all weekend (did not even know it was supposed to snow) so I have plenty of food. As long as we keep our electric & heat, the snow is no problem.

Have a GREAT day,

Lynn

Good afternoon ladies and as ladies please refrain from laughing. I was sitting quietly in my lovely recliner that DH bought before I came home post op cardiac. I was so surprised it didn't look like it belonged in a man cave. So there I was curled up with my fuzzy blankie watching tv and POW the backend of the recliner dissolved. I ended up with my feet in the air, my fanny near the floor and the rest of me stuck. I could not move. Turtle position. I yelled and yelled for DH and I got Dash who started barking at me. We had a heck of a time getting me out of the recliner-sandwich.

Now ladies, DH and I have been married for 55 years and have a long history...like I went to buy my first new car...a wee Vega wagon and he came home with a new Camaro. Went to get my recurve bow and he came whom with an over and under Remington shot gun. See a pattern? We went this morning for a new recliner. There was one with electric controls ($1400) and the other one I like better was $700......suddenly found we are ordering 2. Mine which will be delivered tomorrow and his which will take 6 weeks. Best thing though is they will take the old chair. With my wonky knees I couldn't lift my share to tote it out.

Side note....that Remington is worth mucho now and it's in my name!!!!!

Tried sleeping in my bed last night and it just doesn't work. Gee, they shot horses....know why....

Lynn and Donna...here are a couple of BBC goodies to check out. Indian Doctor, Mulberry (fabulous), One Foot in the grave (hysterical). Reminds me to check and see if new season for Indian Doctor is out yet.

Cannot find "Indian Doctor" - might it have a different name? I actually loved Mulberry - had forgotten about it. Ordering One Foot in the Grave.

Sorry, but your description of the "dissolving recliner" did make me chuckle.

Lynn

Karen3 had a similar incident after thanksgiving. Dh was in his 5 year old recliner and the seat fell to the floor. I laughed so hard I couldn't help him. Needless to say we went that weekend and ordered lazy boy recliners. Of course I had to have one to match. We just got the a couple weeks ago.
I'm not laughing at you though :-/. :-)
