Evening....Luck for us we are below the freeze line. The Panhandle is getting icy sleet tonight. The Deep South is so unprepared for cold weather that people die. Black ice will have some beach sand to help your prayers when sliding!

Donna....please please please don't hate me or hurt me! PLEASE! I have a date....February 17 at 2:30 pm.

Downton Abbey.... you have to see all the seasons. Everything flows from the background. The neat characters below stairs are so much more lively with seasoning. After life with Downton Abbey you must then watch all 6 seasons of Doc Martin. I envy having a chance to see them again for the first time. (I have the dvds, but not virgin eye balls)

Mary...If you have Prime on amazon you can watch the shows there. I think it's $1.99 an episode or free with Prime.

I make a tasty salad dressing. Now it's going to sound strange, but OMG is it good. We all have the 4 seasons cruets(right). Fill the 1st line with SF maple syrup(Schmucker's the best), next line with cider vinegar, than add about 1/2 the oil. Plus one package of 4 Season's Italian powdered mix. Shake.

Cleaned out the farback of the refrig. Found a whole bunch of new life forms.
Wednesday is garbage pick up. Wonder if this bag should be labeled Hazard Waste.

Welcome to the newbies....this is just an old coffee clatche, So pull up a chair, pour a cuppa and join in. At our age we've all done that or seen all that and have answer for everything or at least an opinion. Takes us a few days to figure out who you are, but post away so we can know you.

Gotta start putting some meals away for DH to defrost and eat while I'm gone. Arrange everything so when I get home everything is up and running. Any ideas or hints????

ps up here Lynn...yes hooked on True Detectives, too!

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone watched True Detectives? It is VERY different. I REALLY like it.

One class finished today - just have 8 more papers to grade. Other class ends next Monday.

Have a great day,

Lynn

KarenFL - not to worry! Despite my deep, deep depression and continual sighing, I AM happy that you have a surgery date scheduled... and you're going to be so perky in a couple of months (and we'll be here to listen for those FIRST couple of months!)... I really am glad for you.

After a great day on Monday, Tuesday was very blah. I walked a lot outside Monday but Tuesday was cold and wet. I was going to use the treadmill or rower inside, but my allergies were bothering me the whole day so I did nothing. I did adjust my food down to account for the lack of activity so that part went OK.

Welcome newbies
Koshka...interesting blog you have. I like the part about not bringing no no foods into the house or bringing only one portion.

K3...I'm doing the Happy Dance for you.

Donna...I'll look forward to doing the happy dance with you too once you get your surgery date.

Nothing going on here today, our little yorkie puppy is keeping us busy. He wakes me early every morning by sitting on my face or nibbling on my ears. Charlie puts up with him unless he's eating. We have to keep the little guy away from Charlies bowl. We are renaming him, Bruce didn't like the name Ollie. We're leaning toward McGhee. Mac for short. (Nothing in stone yet) As his personality develops, so will his name.

Eat light girls and the scale will be kind to you.

Went to the gym this morning and walked, biked and also did six min. on the hand bike. Started out on the track going my usual brisk walking with some jogging but noticed dh was a little short of breath so slowed down and walked the rest with him (about 1/2). So got my mile but in a little over 20 min. So far I'm on track with my eating today. I did well yesterday until dh came in with some jelly beans. He said I'd mentioned some shown on TV looked good.....he is my enabler! I haven't been tracking well...start out but don't finish. Hopefully I will today as my weight went up a bit this morning. I do better when I track everything.

We finally got our rain, but it's not bad yet just a little drippy. Miss the sunshine.

Rosey - I had leftover chow mein last two days for lunch too. I liked it but now glad it's gone.

Lynn - I have not seen The Detectives...sounds like something I would like. I added it to my netflix queue. It wasn't free (by a long shot!) in amazon prime.

Karen3- Thanks for the tip about prime and downton Abbey. I did find it there and it was free, so I'll try to watch it soon.

I have done nothing here at home so I'd better get off this computer.

Hi Mary,

It is on HBO - name is True Detectives. With Michael McConaghey (SP?) and Woody Harrelson.

Bobbolink - Since I started just not buying certain foods (except a single serving occasionally) it has been much easier to stay on track. I resisted doing that for years and now I know I was silly.

Weather still a little cold here so I won't walk outside yet. But I am going to do the treadmill in a little while.
