Sorry Mary about your back pain, yes do keep that appointment.
K3, don't ya love the wave when you're thinking about the Golden Girls but too busy to gab?
I took everything out of my pantry, re-list them. My pantry is very big with deep shelves, things get lost in the back. DH gets yelled at when he tries to put groceries away for me without adding them to my list. Then dummy me forgets to cross them off as I use them.
I'm planning on making a rice/chicken casserole for supper, will not start my diet until Monday. Not looking forward to it.

Howdy all....Just got backfrom trying a different vegie stand. My favorite place went out of bussiness. This one today was useless. Tomatoes $1.98 each! The other stuff had swarms of flies...yuck!

Cajun...nope didn't get that front. a/c still running, but supposed to cool down tonight. Good luck fishing. How about cooking the fish in foil packs with vegies and lemon juice instead of frying? Did DS get a mulie? I'll never forget my first mulie buck....no one told me they hop like a jack rabbit....

Bobbi...Your middlename is Organized! So get organized for the diet days a head. Fish out the great dishes that you like and have honed down the calories and plan 2 weeks of fanastic easy to do meals. Plan head and then you wouldn't spend agonizing time when you are hungry/cranky. You can do it.

Rosie...Snow! OMG....makes my bones ache.

Mary....better? See the doctor anyway. Stop fooling around. Be good to yourself you wouldn't let Joe get way with procrastination!

Karen...I went to the eagle site and they were running a tape with one sitting snow covered over two eggs. LOL at the picture of you and the girls...you all get your hair done alike! Honey blondes.

My left knee is starting to ache more. I'll have to call for an appointment for a shot Monday. Yipes...walking in to have it done is about the most courageous thing I've ever done....Knowing how much it hurts ahead of time....ouch.

Think I gained weight after reading 2 magazines that just came. Southern Living and Foodnet Work Thanksgiving issues. How about chocolate carmel pecan pie? Looks amazing and deadly. Bacon wrapped everything...specially the wrapped meatloaf....total food porn.

Hi everybody else....lots of hugs ....k3

Hello everyone! Been a good Saturday. Didn't really do anything but it was just nice!

Karen-- they are working hard to get the cam up and have improved on it so much from last year! I think they are saying it should be up 100% of the time by the end of this month. I've caught them "Live" a few times and both parents are in "remodeling" and today Mom was having Squirrel for lunch!! The chat feature and social stream won't be up for some time I guess. But that is OK I like watching them on the nest. Sure hope you get relief for your knee with that shot!

We did go to Culver's for supper tonight... Can't hardly beat them... We each had a cheeseburger, small fry and small drink for $8.50! Shoot I can't make them at home for that!! LOL!! Then we had to get a butterscotch concrete since today is National Sweetest day and they had them BOGO all day!! Oh My, they are so good--er bad!!

Bobbi, I always have good intentions of getting things organized but that is about as far as I get! Guess I really should work harder at it because it would be so much nicer. And I know you-- you will have that weight off in no time!

My brother is up in Kansas City watching the NASCAR race today. He has been sending us videos that are really pretty neat! He and his son got Pit Passes so they are right there in the midst of everything!! I love watching NASCAR.

Well, better get going. Just got out of the shower and think I will go and do something productive tonight--maybe!

Have a GREAT SUNDAY everyone!

Good morning GG’s,

I’ve been visiting you all and seeing how you are doing, but haven’t been in much of a mood to write anything myself.

The changes in my work space have made me cranky and things fly out of my mouth and then I am sorry afterwards. Not mean things to anyone, but smarty pants things that seem funny at the moment, but make me wish afterward that I would just keep my mouth shut.

It is a beautiful sun shiny day here today. Hoping to maybe get out and walk today.

I did have a pleasant surprise this morning when I weighed. I had been avoiding the scale for weeks. It hadn't gotten as high as I had feared. It kind of goes up and down the same couple pounds ~ but thankfully hadn't gone way far up. I hadn't changed my ticker when it went up ~ today it was the same as my ticker.

Feeling frustrated because I know I need to get moving, but having such a hard time being consistent with it. Still trying to come up with how to fit some exercise into my schedule. The one time of day when I could possibly do it consistently (in the mornings) often times falls through ~ if I got off work late the night before and to bed late, or don’t sleep well, when morning comes I just don’t feel like it. I am at my best in the afternoons, but by then am at work. Thinking of maybe timing how long it would take me to walk the loop from my desk to the break room and back, then every so often during my work day ~ get up and do that ~ and hopefully be able to do it enough times to knock out 30 minutes. (I am in awe of Angela and how she does 3 1/2 hours of running/walking.) How ever many times I can do it ~ that will shave some off the 30 minutes and I will hopefully, somehow be able to fit in the rest of it. I know that is not ideal, but moving somehow is better than not at all. Also, I guess I really need to try to do it on my days off.

I borrowed Maddie’s old stroller to use for something to hang onto when I walk ~ I stumble sometimes and am so afraid of falling. But, I feel silly walking around an empty stroller. So, I got out the cat carrier and will try putting Meso in that and putting that in the stroller and walking that way. Don’t know whether Meso will like it or not ~ hoping maybe she doesn’t mind too much. Probably sounds silly, but I’d rather not spend the money on one of those pet strollers and then find that she hates it.

Ok, guess I’d better get off here and get some stuff done.

Hope you all are having a nice weekend.

K3 ~ glad that you are having some cooler weather and enjoying the absence of the AC sound.

I got the cat carrier out and am letting Meso just kind of explore and play around with it ~ sorry ~ I took picture quickly before she moved and it came out a little blurry.

My back is much better. I think it is going away but I am seriously thinking that it is related to my hernia. Boy this month is flying by, I can't keep up! Yesterday we had our annual timeshare update meeting , I posted our anniversary pictures on my FB page and got some of them ready to give to family. I made a quick trip out to get a few things we needed...forgot to make a list and buy groceries though so we had take out last night for dinner!... and then got as much done around the house as I could, resting now and then due to my back. Last night we watched the Obama's America 2016 movie. I've already expressed my opinion on my FB page so won't do that here. Now we are about to get ready for church and plan to meet our dd and gc for lunch afterward

The good news is that I lost .8# ...not quite a pound but I'm always pleased to lose any amount. I think I'm learning how to work more with my diabetes. I'm thankful for all the advice and support I've received from this group.

Hi goldens!

I have been checking in, but like Gayle, I haven't found myself with much worth saying and I have been busy. I am getting ready for this http://www.colormerad.com/ which will be this Saturday. I am doing it with several friends and I am really looking forward to it.

This week at work I am at a conference/training all week. I am not looking forward to it but it is necessary. My youngest ds Shawn, dil Nette, and Gabe are here and (pretty much) moved in. Nette will be leaving for a few weeks to Grand Forks ND to finish the term and sell their house. Shawn and Gabe will stay here. It has been really busy but I am so happy to have them all here.

Karenfl, LOL the cold front arrived and you get to be outside in the cool, comfortable air. This morning as I was walking, I regretted the fact that I didn't wear gloves - my hands were cold. We are expecting snow. And, I need that shot, also, but I chickened out and now it is too late. I will schedule an appointment for next week. Do you get the "burn" reaction after the shot? For me, the pain of the shot is nothing compared to the two day pain fest afterward. It hurts so much! It also sends my blood sugar soaring..

Karenmo, I enjoy your updates on the eagles...... Thanks

Angela! Oh, how I wish I could run! I need a knee replacement and running will never be a part of my future. I like your reports.

Gayle, I read on the diabetes site that all exercise counts. I have recently been standing when I am on a long phone conversation. How about getting a pedometer and trying to hit a "steps goal" every day? I want to start using mine again and be more active in addition to my exercise. Something to think about.....If you want a cat stroller - ask your dh to go on craigslist or some of the local facebook sale sites. Put in "in search of pet stroller" and see what comes up. You might get one really cheap.

Mary, I hope that you go to your appointment..... Please?

Bobbi, nobody does better than you at counting calories.... You can do it! I remember when I first started here, I always enjoyed hearing about the things that you were eating. It was inspiring.

Rosie, Snow.... LOL I wish it would be your kind of snow. Ours will just be a skiff of powdery stuff that will be gone in a day. I long to make a snow man with the little boys but we rarely get that kind of snow anymore.

Carbie, good advice to Mary about the GERD. I would also add that elevating the head of the bed (even a couple of inches) is really helpful. I am really impressed with all your home improvements! You go girl!

Well, I am out of time and headed out to help ds get the leaves cleaned up before it snows. Then, back in to watch football and later today I will be carving pumpkins with two little boys.

Later!
Rie

Hi Everyone,
I'm going to try this one more time.
I haven't been on much because I haven't been feeling up to snuff the past 2 or 3 days. Mary, I think I caught your back problems. Actualy, I'm thinking I have a kidney problem or pleurisy or pneumonia, .... something on that order. I haven't had a fever, but do get the chills once in a while. The pain in the back of my chest was so bad last night it made me nauseated.
Started taking ibuprofen this morning and it makes it tolerable for a while.

I had pizza last night for supper and today for lunch. Naughty, but I spent a lot of time baking all those squash and scooping it out of the skins and bagging it up into individual sized serving bags, and that may have contributed to the back thing too. Anyway, I didn't feel like cooking.
Tonight I was being healthier, ...... I made chicken stir fry.

If this works, these are the curtains I made for my dining room. Noe don't look at the mess from the painting etc. These pics were taken before I got everything back in order, and the treadmill that you can see a corner of, is gone now.

Wont work. I'm gonna try something else. I'm using Firefox. I'll go back to IE. .....
