Valerie - what are windmills?
I did 40 minutes of my fat burning pilates dvd this morning. I'm hoping to get in a little workout after work today as well. Personal total: 664 + 40 = 704 Group total: 12,158 + 40 = 12,198 |

NELIE - Windmills: Your arms are swinging up over your head like jacks, then 'round & down in front of you, then up & down like that. At the same time, with each swing, you're hopping from one foot to the other with the 'up' leg being lifted up and out to the side 3 out of 4 times: lift left, left right, lift left, step in and rest for half a sec. When you're really swinging those arms and hopping and lifting, it some great exertion - especially in the middle of the kickboxing/cardio routine. You can feel the burn in your hips and thighs. I've always fudged thru 'em before, doing more of a hop/rest/hop/rest pattern, so when I really started to get it, it was a major thrill!

I'm way behind... have fallen off the exercise wagon for the last week or so. I'm just posting so I can find my minutes tomorrow when I actually have some exercise to report--I plan to get a couple of decent-length walks in over the weekend.
I have been making myself do a flight of stairs, up and down, each day (it's actually two flights to get from one floor of my office building to the next floor). It may not seem like much to those of you who are much more fit, but I've avoided steps for so long and have a problem with one leg, so this is kind of like physical therapy for me. They do seem to be getting easier and I don't dread doing it so much. So that's a, what, a non-minute victory? But I hope to add to these minutes over the weekend and possibly make it to goal before the 31st.... 171/400 (no minutes to add to the group total, sorry) |

For my exercise done while I had no internet access I got in 148 minutes, then today I got in another 60, for a total for 208 minutes! New totals are:
Personal Total: 933 + 208 = 1141/1085 - 56 minutes past my goal!! :carrot: :cb: :carrot: Met my goal 11 days early! :D Yippee! :) Group Total: 12,403 + 208 = 12,611 |

I have been off the boards and busy, but still getting the exercise in. I have 108 minutes to add over the past few days: 15 dog walk, 60 min weight lifting and 33 min elliptical Group total ~ 12,671 + 108 = 12,779 min! |
I haven't posted on this thread in a LONG time, and I'm not setting any exercise goals for right now, because it's just going to be impossible...but I'll post if I get in any...like today. I hadn't danced in so LONG that my side started to hurt really bad after only 20 minutes. But on the bright side, way back in February, when I first started exercising, I hurt after only FIVE minutes. So at least I'm not back to that. My cat was watching me the entire time, like I was out of my MIND. Sweating, though, and feeling good, even if it was "only" 20 minutes. Maybe I'll convince Andrew to go walking with me later in the park, since it's a GORGEOUS Fall day out! :)

Well, I've been up to my old tricks again. It has been AGES since I posted my exercise minutes. Luckily I have still been entering them into my Word document, as my memory isn't THAT good.
Since I posted last (11 days ago) I've done 500 mins of exercise. I try to average 40 mins a day, but like to do a little more so I can have a rest day now and then. Personal Goal... 520 + 500 = 1020/1200 Leaving 180 mins left for October Group Total... 13,014 + 500 = 13,514 Sorry about being so slack with this everyone. Zelma |
