I certainly understand your wanting to make your goal but please be cautious and protect your health too! I can relate in a smaller way... this weekend not sure what happened but I just crashed and was not feeling well. Yesterday was the only day in five months I have had NO exercise; in fact I barely got out of bed. Today I did a light exercise... walked slower than usual, etc.
It is good to be highly motivated and determined to make our goals... but sometimes when our bodies are saying "no" we need to listen to them and give ourselves that break when we genuinely need it. You are doing GREAT.
Just want to echo Misti's comment, and I know Zelma would if she were here!
As for me, just walked the dogs yesterday, and I am posting my measly 15 minutes to show that not everyone gets in a ton of exercise. Wow, reading through the recent posts is REALLY inspiring. Seriously, you should all check out last January or so... I think the people here are doing so much more exercise than the group used to! (Or maybe it's my faulty memory...either way, you all seem so impressive!)
Lifted at the gym for 30 min. I had to get a new id cause I lost the old one and BOY does the 50 pounds I lost since I joined the Y show!!
Even though the new picture is post workout and I'm all sweaty, it's MUCH better than the first!!
Kaybee - I definitely agree with what others have said. You need to look after that body of yours. I know that I have not paid enough attention to mine when it was trying to tell me it needed a rest, and I have suffered because of it. I have had a couple of times where I needed a longer break than I would have required if I had just given myself short rests when I felt the need. I was told by my dietician friend that if you are 'sick' above the neck, then it is fine to exercise, but anything below and you should rest. So, a respiratory infection definitely needed rest. You did the right thing. Your body will thank you for it later.
I actually had a rest day today because I had done a LOT of walking over the last few days, at a very brisk pace and up and down a few hills. I was tired in the afternoon and I'm sure it is because I overdid things a little. So I am being good today. I will see how I am tomorrow and decide then whether to rest again. I have plenty of leeway with getting to my total, so I am not worried at all.
Monday - walked 90 mins
Tuesday - walked 80 mins
I would have covered over 4 miles each time I would say.
Personal Goal... 630 - 170 = 460 mins left of July's goal of 1200
Group Total... 6103 + 170 = 6273
Great to see how well we are doing with only just over a third of the month covered.
