Sorry guys! I'm slacking in the posting department!

Sunday - none, though I cleaned the house from top to bottom :P
Monday - 15 minutes exercise ball, 15 minutes walking
Tuesday - 15 minutes exercise ball, 10 minutes walking, 5 minutes stretching, 5 minutes of jump rope (holy cow, forgot how much work it really can be!)
Wednesday - 15 minutes exercise ball, 5 minutes walking, 5 minutes stretching, 10 minutes jump rope
Thursday - none, slacker :P
Friday - 20 minutes exercise ball, 10 minutes walking, 5 minutes stretching, 5 minutes jump rope

So, that makes it 7797+145 minutes = 7942 minutes

Not a bad day really. Hubby and I did a LOT of walking around shopping centres, which I don't count as it is pretty incidental, but it is still moving, which is pretty good.

40 mins on treadmill in morning and 50 mins on bike in evening.

I am hoping to be able to add some time on my NEW home gym in the future. Hubby bought it for me today. I was supposed to get it for my birthday, which isn't until early April, but I really wanted it earlier, as I am sure that I should be adding strength training to my workouts now. Hubby didn't mind in the least. In fact I almost changed my mind, but he was determined to get it for me. He is SO supportive in this entire journey! He just finished putting the home gym together and it is bed time, so I'll give it a trial run tomorrow. I have NO idea what to do, but it should be fun learning. I would never have believed that I could be THIS excited over exercise equipment. Oh, how our lives change.

Personal Goal... 500 - 90 = 410

Group Total... 8052 + 90 = 8142

Keep moving over the weekend everyone!

Take care,

Zelma

I just have 20 minutes to add from yesterday (weight training), and plan to get anohter 60 in today (can't cound that yet, though!)

Group Total... 8142 + 20 = 8162

WOW, All's Quiet on the Exercise Front today, huh? Where did everyone go??? Guess I'll add to my previous number, as I had a great walk on the treadmill (not outside today, as temps were below 0 degrees Fahrenheit!!) and did my back exercises, for a total of 62 minutes!

Group Total... 8162 + 62 = 8194 minutes!

Well, I did 25 minutes of my dvd tonight, and then I decided to start pumping iron! LOL!!! Starting to lift weights...starting quite low, but I managed to do about 5 minutes tonight...bench-pressing.

So.....

8194+30=8224!!!

Thought I was going to be a little short on the exercise today as I didn't do as long on the treadmill in the morning. I had to cut it short as I wanted to get to the markets nice and early. Made up for that later though with two lovely walks with hubby. One was about 55 mins around the outskirts of the city centre, but I only counted 45 mins as I accounted for stopping at a few lights along the way. The other was probably about half an hour, but I only counted the two 10 min batches of steady, fast walking, not the stopping to take photos parts. I also used my home gym for the first time today and I have a feeling that I am going to LOVE weight training! I am VERY surprised at myself for this, but also very excited.

So, 35 mins on treadmill in morning, two walks with hubby adding up to 65 mins, 30 mins on exercise bike in evening, followed by 10 mins of weight training. I wanted to start easy on the home gym while I am still working out what to do on it.

Personal Goal... 410 - 140 = 270

Group Total... 8224 + 140 = 8364

Keep moving and losing everyone!

Take care,

Zelma

I love watching everyone count down to 0 on their exercise goals! Great job, everyone! Zelma, if you haven't found it already, there's a lot of great info on the Exercise forum -- check out Ladies (and Gents) who lift for some info on weight lifting.

We went to the gym this morning for weights (20 min) and this afternoon I walked an HOUR on the treadmill. A new personal best (and my last personal best was earlier this week. I used a lot of incline too... and feel pretty good now. I wanted to get ahead of my goal a bit, as I don't think I can work out tomorrow, but I went beyond what I thought I would!! So,

Group total ~ 8504 + 80 = 8584 minutes!

I'm embarrassed to even post here, but it's a step towards redeeming myself, so here go the excuses... Last Sunday we were in SC, I went to a flea market and came out with a thin, shivering puppy. Day blown, kissing the puppy, no exercise. Then we took off on a 3 day run to Utah, complete with snow storms, no exercise. Then we went out with other drivers to Chinese buffet, emphasis on BUFFET. Next day went in to see our favorite agent, and the menu that day consisted of (I can't believe this) FOUR donuts & such & a better choice of Chinese food. By now the temps were in the -10 to -18 range for the next couple days as we traveled down thru WY & CO... nope, no walking in THAT. So I've either been kissing the puppy, driving like heck, stuffing my face or freezing my buns off, but in any case, no exercise this week. What was I thinking??? That's how I got this way!!! Been back on track food-wise for the last 3 days, but I can't even face the scale to see the damage.

You guys are doing so great! Kayley, Garnet, everybody - I'm so proud of you guys. I promise I'll rejoin the efforts this week. We'll be doing manual labor for the next 3 days on this next run. Thanks for holding me accountable, and inspiring me to get back with the program.

Sadly, 000 + 8584 still = 8584

Well, I can enter my day's exercise already, as I'm only going to get my morning session on the treadmill in. I have a feeling that I have been over-exercising. I would never have believed that I would say that about myself, but it is the only thing we can think of. I have been SO tired for a while now and I couldn't work out what the problem was. Today I was actually exhausted and felt as though I had been going for 48 hours without sleep. I couldn't even think straight. I did some serious thinking and talking with a number of people, including my dietician friend, and we all came to the same conclusion. I have been pushing myself way too hard. Somewhere along the way I haven't increased my food intake, but I have managed to almost double my daily exercise. It was just becoming such a habit, and I was impressed with how much I could do, that it didn't occur to me that I could be doing too much. I am off work for the next two days, just resting and NOT exercising. I have NO idea how I'm going to feel about that. I am already getting jittery about not going on the exercise bike. And what about my new home gym, just sitting there waiting to be used??? One thing I AM looking forward to is being able to sleep in. I have been getting up at 5:15am so I could fit in my exercise session before work. For the next two days I intend to be VERY lazy as far as sleeping in goes.

So sorry all, but I won't be contributing any minutes for the next two days, and then I think I will just back off to about 50 mins a day instead of the 100 or so I have been striving for lately. I know that I have plenty of room to do this and still reach my target for the month, so I'm not too phased by that part of things. I just don't know how I'll feel if I don't exercise. I have to admit thought that I have been VERY tired before I exercise lately and pretty tired shortly afterwards, whereas before it would rejuvenate me.

I am sorry that I haven't exactly been the role model for exercising that I had hoped. I will try to get better.

Personal Goal... 270 - 40 = 230

Group Total... 8584 + 40 = 8624

I hope you are all doing better than I have been.

Take care,

Zelma

Valerie -- Honey, you haven't failed, because you're back here! You know that you're in this for the long haul, and some days will be better than others -- it sounds like it's especially hard being on the truck -- hard to plan at the very least. I know that a big part of my success is the shear repetition and sameness of most of my days. So, get back on the horse (so to speak) and don't give up! It's okay not to be perfect!

Now, for the important stuff -- how's the puppy!?? What kind? How old? How adorable? (any pictures??). Does it affect life on the truck? I picture you having to stop every hour and a half or so for it to pee!

Zelma -- You are a PERFECT role model, in that I don't think anyone can be perfect in this process!! Thank you for sharing what's happening with you -- it helps me to see what other people are doing to deal with the ups and downs life throws them. I've been concerned hearing how tired you are lately, and am glad to hear you're trying to do something about it. Have you seen a doctor? Maybe you have an iron deficiency or something?? Take care of yourself and again, thanks for sharing. GOOD LUCK!

Saturday - 15 minutes exercise ball, 15 minutes walking, 10 minutes jump rope
Sunday - 20 minutes exercise ball, 20 minutes walking, 5 minutes jump rope
Monday - 20 minutes exercise ball, 30 minutes walking, 5 minutes stretching, 5 minutes jump rope

As a side note, I am extremely thrilled that I've been able to jump back into exercising so soon. I still hurt occasionally or have brief twinges of pain off and on, but the recovery time from surgery was so much better than I thought it would be. And, I'm learning that I really enjoy making my exercise varied.

So, 8624+145=8769

I went away for the weekend and brought my 1-mile WATP tape with me. One cool thing - I think it is time to upgrade to the 2-mile. The 1-mile is getting so much easier now!

Saturday - 20 minutes WATP
Sunday - 20 minutes WATP
Monday - 15 minutes walking in front of the TV + 5 minutes of good stretching

So for the last 3 days that is 60 minutes. My personal total for the month is now 675. Only 75 minutes away from my original goal of 750 minutes!

The new group total is 8769 + 60 = 8829
