Okay, y'all. What a night!
I go home and eat dinner about an hour before heading to the gym because I was starving. Go to the gym, park and realize I forgot my student ID at home. Didn't even attempt to go in because they have a big sign that says "NO ID = NO PLAY!" (Thought I could maybe beg them and plead
I come here every day! You KNOW I'm legit!)
I go back home, get my ID, head BACK to the gym. I parallel park in the perfect parking space. The F-150 truck in front of me starts backing up. I'm anxious but hopeful. Nope, he hits me!
At this point, I'm thinking
Okay, how am I going to make it in the gym for my workout after we wait for the cops to come and fill out a report?! Turns out? THE GYM IS CLOSED TODAY AND TOMORROW FOR STAFF TRAINING! What the heck, gym? Don't you know I have a pair of Gap jeans waiting for me but only if I go to the gym EVERY DAY?!
The guy's truck hitch cut into my front bumper and pushed out one of the four pieces of my grill. Guh. We wait for 40 minutes before the cop shows up. He tells us if we file a report he'd have to write a ticket for the person who was at fault. Being the nice person that I am, I say no, we'll handle it personally through our insurance companies. (As long as no one is injured, the worst part of car accidents has got to be dealing with insurance companies. Blah.)
I go back home, no workout. I'm asking my husband if he thinks I should be penalized since there's no way I could have worked out with the gym closed. He starts making jokes about how he's going to downgrade my prize to Walmart jeans. (Nothing against Walmart jeans, but I am in love with Gap's long and lean jeans. They fit me just right!)
So, after all this drama and a long 8 hour day of work to boot, I get ready and head to the office, where we have a rinky dink gym. It has a non-operable stationary bike, a messed-up elliptical (The arms aren't in good, so they bang against the side of the machine.), and an old school Bowflex inside. I did 30 minutes of interval training on the elliptical. (OMG - I was sweating up a storm! I usually do the same level for 30 minutes, so this was different.) Then, because I could not figure out the Bowflex to save my life, I tried some free-weight-esque exercise with the actual weight pieces.
Gotta say, I'm proud of myself for finding a way to work out. Now let's just hope the scale rewards me for all my hard work in the morning!
How did y'all do on exercise this week?
