Welcome mnemo! Grats on your losses!

charliee 02-10-2013 10:20 AM

The scale doesn't seem to want to go down this week. I started off well on monday with 246.4 but it immediately jumped back up and I've been fighting for every ounce since. I thought maybe it was TOM water weight or maybe too much sodium, but I guess I will have to wait a couple of days to see. Here's hoping for a woosh next week.

ditto to every word. The scale was exactly the same today as it was last Sunday, 242.0

As I posted in a different thread, I did fit back into my jeans, so I know I've made progress and I just have to hope for that whoosh for the scale to catch up with me.

charliee 02-12-2013 09:28 AM

So the scale finally budged a little, which is good because I was starting to come up with rationalizations to eat poorly this week. Even a couple of ounces reminds me that I'm in this for the long haul.

How about you April Snow, my fingers are still crossed you're going to drop those last couple before valentines day. :)

How is everyone else doing?

Tziri 02-12-2013 11:41 AM

Well my scale is steadily hitting around 236-237 every morning so I guess I'm off to the 230's/220's thread. I hope to see many of you there soon!!!

charliee - I hate when the scale sticks, it always makes me think i'm doing something wrong! Gotta get myself out of that mindset though and remember it's about the entire year (or longer) not one week or month! Congrats on the budging though!! :)

April Snow 02-12-2013 01:51 PM

Congrats Tziri!! :broc::carrot::broc::carrot: You really are a speed demon at losing!!

Hope that I'll see you in the 230s thread myself pretty soon! :)

mnemosyne 02-12-2013 05:39 PM

Farewell Tziri, congrats on jumping down (so thoroughly!) another decade!

AprilSnow - I know you'll be joining her soon.

Charliee - I know the feeling, though I do fairly well at not getting discouraged with my eating by the lack of movement, I still FEEL it. I am still JUST into the 240s at 248. But my food and exercise have been good and I will just stubborn it out. I've had a lot of NSVs lately to carry me through.

charliee 02-12-2013 06:08 PM

Tziri whoo hooo!! Well done! See you on the other side.

mnemosyne I'm trying to stay on track, I just keep reminding myself that if I stay on track the results will show eventually. Congrats on your NSV's!

mnemosyne 02-13-2013 09:58 AM

charliee - I have to remind myself of that all the time. I have been a bit frustrated with the scale for the past week and a half, but today dropped to 246. I need to harness that feeling to get me through the frustrating times.

I had a tooth pulled yesterday - would not recommend this as a weight loss tool!!!

Felt very dehydrated yesterday as I it took forever and ever for the bleeding to stop and I couldn't eat or drink anything.

Can't chew yet today so have just had protein shakes and a bit of soup. It is almost TOM so it will be interesting to see what the scale decides to do.

Congrats to all who are leaving us!

charliee 02-13-2013 11:56 PM

Aww Unicorn, hope you feel better soon. That first few hours after coming back from "work" at the dentist sucks. I'm not sure if your protein shake is flavoured, but sometimes when I feel like I need a treat I mix a chocolate protein shake with ice and a bit of milk so it feels like a milkshake.

Speaking of chocolate, I've been eating a little chocolate every day this week. I've still been able to keep my calories in check so I'm not too worried about it yet. I'm nearing the end of my TOM so I think that's the cause for the craving.

It's been a month now of working out pretty much everyday (I think I missed maybe 2 days) and I can't believe I'm still doing it. I haven't worked out this much, this consistently since high school. Yay!

mnemosyne 02-14-2013 11:51 AM

Unicorn - I hope you start feeling better soon! The closest experience I had was having my wisdom teeth out and that was very unpleasant.

charliee - I actually eat a bit of chocolate every day I am at work. Chocolates don't tempt me the way snacky-snacks do, so I keep a bag of dark chocolates squares and some Hershey's Simple Pleasures Dark Chocolates in my drawer at work. 30 calories for one. Every day after lunch I have one. I break the dark chocolates squares into quarters if that is waht I'm eating, or the Simple Pleasures in half so I enjoy them a bit more. I really appreciate this afternoon treat.

Congrats on the working out! I am feeling the same way. I have exercised on the treadmill at least 30 minutes every morning before work, gradually increasing speed, and added workout videos at least four evenings a week (I am doing "Gilad's Express Workouts" - which has lifting and other toning exercises.) It feels really good, doesn't it? I have so much more energy.

245 this morning. I'm feeling celebratory. I checked measurements and they were smaller last night. I noticed that clothes that were pretty well-fitted a couple of months ago are starting to get loose. Being on the other side of 250 feels weird to me, but good.

Good luck everyone!

April Snow 02-14-2013 11:56 AM

down another .6 today for Valentine's WI. But it's still feeling excruciatingly slow at the moment. I honestly don't think I can remember a time where I've stalled/lost THIS slowly when I was on plan.

On the positive side, yesterday and today, I am wearing clothing that hasn't fit since last year, so I know SOMETHING is happening even if it's not happening on the scale.

Thinforme 02-16-2013 05:32 PM

I'm joining all the lovely's here, after my battle with the scale "I haven't either in all month “ I dropped fifteen pounds this month bringing me down to 140 so I will be here until I get brave enough to face the scale again :)
