I have just bought a new scale. The old digital one was too old.

I wonder if the number will change?

I'm gonna wear the same workout t-shirt and yoga pants that I wore at my last "low" weigh in! Maybe cross my fingers and exhale hard (in case the oxygen in my lungs weighs ten pounds).

I weighed at the cardiologist (good news - no more blood clot!) on Monday and taking into account clothes and shoes, it was very close to what the new digital scale read on Tuesday, so I think it's pretty accurate. As least right now. I don't know if they stay accurate.

FadedBlueJeans: Glad to hear about your good news at the Cardiologist! Also, glad your new scale is working. I didn't realize it until now but my digital scale is realllly old! It moved across the county, stayed in storage for a year and then moved again. Might be time for a new one at our house!

Thanks Miss Koo. I am so glad to finally have this achilles tendon ordeal nearly over. Only 2 more PT sessions and a final visit to the orthopedist next week, where he will hopefully lift my current restrictions on running and jumping.

FYI - internet consensus seems to be that the lifespan of digital scales runs 5-10 years. You could test yours out with a known weight to see if it's still accurate before tossing it. But if it is really really old, a new one might be in order because the strain sensor technology has improved in the last few years.

Well my old 8-year old digital scale was well off. And it was giving me different numbers every time I stepped on it. My new one puts me at several pounds down which means I am now losing!

Which is good.

I really did not like the 250s and 260s thread so I came here.

But I am not sure I like it here as much as I had hoped.

So I am thinking of moving on to the 230s and 220s thread. It looks nicer over there...

MissKoo 03-23-2013 02:11 PM

Woot! Under 240s for two days. I'm off to the next thread and I hope to see you there!

IanG 03-26-2013 07:18 AM

Well I came and I am almost went.

I won't be around here for long. The 240s have gone by in a blur.

Nearly there...

Starting in the 240s

Hi All - So the 240's is my starting point.
I've re-committed today (there is a post in introductions) as of this morning on the scale I was 243.5.... I've been halfheartedly trying to get out of the 240s for ... well honestly.... like a year and have succeeded in nothing but the dreaded yo-yo in this 10lb range. I'm hoping this helps get me mentally back in the game and that I don't stick around too long!

IanG 03-26-2013 01:05 PM

You can do it NESunshine! Welcome.

Hello All--

I made it out of the 250s for good and I'm now at 242. Looking to get out of the 240s real soon. I've been doing better in the lower 240s than the upper. I've started using the Lose It app to count my calories and keep a strict 1650 calorie diet. Tried counting calories in the past and never stuck with it but now that I have this app and can just scan everything in my fridge, I'm doing much better. I hope to lose 30lbs by June 1.

Good luck everyone!

Ha! I was feeling like that this morning too - I was SMASHING the 240's for awhile there but I'm up to 244.6 this morning. I was totally OP yesterday, so I'm suspecting I'm the victim of my fitful night's sleep. Hoping for a better number tomorrow!

kmstacy 03-28-2013 11:11 AM

Well I am back..last year May thru October I lost 50 lbs and got down to 228 then i just completely got off track until March 20th (last week) when I went to the doctor and my weight was back up to 252.6 so here I go again. Hope everyone is doing well!

IanG 03-28-2013 11:21 AM

Welcome back!

I can't believe I am still here.

I should be out dancing in the sun in 230s by now. These 240s are sticky.

kmstacy 04-01-2013 12:11 PM

How was everyone's Easter weekend? Good I hope..Unbelievable I actually managed to lose 2 lbs this past week.
