I'm only down .4 this week, but it's down and not up so I'm good with it.

Stinky TOM.

However, Eric leaving for Portland AND PMS did NOT get me to emotional eat. Just ***** a lot about it online.

Hey. if it helps me survive this week, I'm down.

I also did a Mini Iron-Kiki workout. I elliptical machined for 25 minutes alternating between 11 and 14. Then I recumbent biked for 4 miles (15 minutes) on level 7. And then I swam 10 laps in the olympic sized pool and water walked/jogged for 20 minutes. It felt amazing to be able to do it. Now if only I could get my sleep together. Since Eric left, I've only been getting 4 - 6 hours a night and it's broken up. I thought for SURE I'd sleep after that workout, but nope. Still restless.

after 2 months stuck at 252 (thanks to moving and then unnecessarily dropping my calories too low)... i'm finally down! 2.9 this week to 249.1!

to get to my original goal of 225 by thanksgiving i'll have to continue to lose 3lbs per week. i'm not so sure that's gonna happen, so i'm gonna revise it a bit. we've got 8 weeks until thanksgiving. so i'm gonna change my goal to 235. it's 10lbs higher than i wanted it to be, but still much lower than the 258ish i was when i started. (moving sucks!)

Great job, everyone.

Rennie - Just that one week early on goofed up your total for the month. Great job pulling thing back together. You mostly lost, you know. September doesn't end for me until my weigh-in next Wed. I post that on the 2011 year long challenge.

Kiki - I'm proud of how well you're doing. I'm sure sleep will come as you get used to the new situation. Think back 3 months - end of June - that seems just a short while ago. That's about how long Eric will be gone, right? For some reason I'm thinking 11 or 12 weeks. Or did I make that up? Whatever the time, I know you'll make the best of it because you are so totally focused.

Roxy - half a pound is good. I decided to slow down a bit and I'm looking at it like "maintenance practice" every time I have a small loss. Or no loss, like last week.

Mandy - you've managed to stay focused while adjusting to a completely different way of life and a bad ankle. Great job. Readjusting goals is a good thing sometimes. We re-set ourselves and get right back in the game. I did the same thing - I just didn't put a number on Thanksgiving.

Hillary - good luck with the new goal. I didn't set a new goal for Thanksgiving. I just decided to slow down on purpose to see it my baggy body catches up a bit. So far all is good. About 8 weeks to Thanksgiving, 12 to Christmas. A pound a week will get me to my original goal. I'll even settle for getting close.

Sweet Treat - up 1, but down 10 since you started the challenge. Keep it in perspective and keep up the good work.

Have a great week, everyone. We're all doing a great job of staying on plan. That's the whole battle, isn't it?

Lin

Thanks Lin I've been reading your post, (love your post regarding your friends comments) and what you say always hits home (thanks). I know that I won't make it to 150 this year so my desire now is to just get out of the 170's and stay out. I have decided to print a picture of me and put it in my wallet. I went to a reunion last weekend and my Uncle thought I was pregnant. I didn't think I looked like that and then my Mom's husband posted some pictures on FB. I look just as round as ever, so that was a wake up call. I don't like that look at all. So I should probably post them in the kitchen and the car also, huh. October has to be better. I wonder if I can do a pound a week until Christmas? I would need to skip over Thanksgiving for sure. I love this time of the year and dislike it at the same time. If I had some control I'd be in a good place though .... OK I'm done.

Best of LUCK to EVERYONE on making your goals for the challenge You ALL are doing great keep on pushing on

I am up a pound which I should be happy about considering my week.

Eating lunch at resturants all week due to work. Saturday went on a trip that included a meal on a paddle boat - did the best I could. Wine at church today (had to throw that in).

Anyway....this is a new week and I am going to be strict to my plan. No visitors expected at work so I should be able to do that.

Running late - down 2 pounds to 162.0. That is 20 for the challenge with 10 to go. But I really have decided to maintain now. I'm staying in here to keep me focused on my new goal of maintenance. I'll be back after work to "talk." Hope everyone has a great day.

Lin - you've been doing a great job and continue to be such an inspiration and positive force in my life. I'm glad you (and others) are willing to share the maintenance part of the journey. I'm still in the thick of it, but the positive example of how to live life with focus and reason is wonderful. You seem so balanced. I can only hope!!

Samadhi - eating out is always really hard. especially when it's multiple days in a row. I think you navigated those waters pretty well.

April - you're amazing, girl!

mini Plateau could have been TOM related, too, but Juicing helped. I know it looks like a steady loss, but I play with those five lbs between 262 and 257 daily. I just happen to weigh in on a "low" day. The scale has been all over the place within that range for a few weeks now. I notice that when I don't juice I tend to grab a string cheese or a protein bar or some other quickie thing I don't have to make. This makes my sodium tally hit the ROOF by the end of the day and I retain water.

So I've stopped that nonsense again and am juicing, and the scale is moving. Glad for it, but also glad to feel really in tune with my body for the first time in years. It's nice to be a WHOLE person again, not just a head on a fluffy shelf.

9 lbs to go before I hit the goal for the challenge. When Eric comes back (you were right, Lin, 11 weeks - home for 3 at the holidays, then 11 more weeks) on December 10th, I'm going to knock his socks off.

-Kiki

April - great job again this week. I was recently talking with someone I used to work with and she is doing Dukan, too. She is also very happy with the results so far. She only had about 20 pounds to lose, so she is approaching "dieting" differently than we bigger chicks are, but she likes the plan.

Samadhi - great job while having to eat in restaurants all week. And who could pass on the wine at Church? LOL This week was sort of like maintenance for you, so that's good.

Kiki - thanks for the kind words. I'm glad the juicing kick started your loss. Fluctuating up and down is all part of this process. For some lucky reason, my weight has always gone down on Wednesday. It might be up again on any other day, but each Wednesday has been lower than the one before, except for one week when I stayed the same. My DD is thin and I know her weight fluctuates 4 or 5 pounds at any given time. Of course, it's different when you are trying to lose - you only want to see the numbers go down, but it still is good to realize it sometimes goes up and it's normal.

Great weekend coming up. Camping with my girlfriends. We started doing this in the spring of 1987. In 1989 we moved it to fall because one of us had a baby in April and it would have been too hard to leave a tiny one home if we went as planned in May. In 1990, we decided to go spring and fall, and that's what we've been doing ever since. I'm just hoping to stay at 162 until next Wednesday. I'll be out of touch for a few days. No computer and no smart phone! Hope everyone has a great week.
