Even though I am only one pound away from my first mini-goal, I am really disappointed in myself. I'm not sticking to the Medi-Fast plan very well and I'm not losing the weight like I should. But I'm determined to do better this week. So I'm hoping and counting on next week to break into the 250's! No eating out or cheating! Every time I'm tempted to eat, I'm going to weigh myself. LOL! Maybe that will nip it in the bud!
Sarabrooke - I'm not totally familiar with Medifast, but aren't you allowed some meals that you prepare on your own? Does that allow for eating out? Or have you decided not to do that because it's an area where you know the temptations are just too big?
You lost 6 pounds this past week, 17 pounds in the 6 weeks since you joined the challenge, and 36 pounds total according to your ticker. I can't see what you have to be disappointed with. That's fantastic progress. Your initial quick loss was most likely boosted by water weight - once that comes off in the first few weeks, 2 to 3 pounds a week is a great rate. Don't lose sight of what you have accomplished. You're doing a fantastic job.
My goal weight for Thanksgiving is 148.8
July 07 181.8
July 14 178.4 ~ 3.4 down 29.6 to go
July 21 177.4 ~ 4.4 down 28.6 to go
July 28 173.4 ~ 8.4 down 24.6 to go
Aug 04 173.6 ~ 8.2 down 24.8 to go
Aug 11 168.2 ~ 13.6 down 19.4 to go
Aug 18 168.6 ~ 13.2 down 19.8 to go
Aug 25 164.4 ~ 17.4 down 15.6 to go
Sep. 1 165.4 ~ 16.4 down 16.6 to go
Sep. 11 163.8 ~ 18.0 down 15.0 to go
Congrats to all the losers this past week, awesome job! And to those that didn't have the best week, just keep plugging away and you'll be rewarded.
As well thank you linJber and April Snow, it's unfortunately a constant issue/stress in my life and for many years I've been a stress eater so I really need to learn how to switch that up into something more constructive when
I'm stressed!

Oh I can eat out...but I ate out a lot over the past few weeks. And the portion sizes at resturants are tricky. It may be a lean meat and veggies, but a lot of it and I didn't quit early enough! LOL Plus some of those "eating outs" were at ball games (my step-daughter plays soccer, softball, and cheers) and concession stands have NO good choices.
I am very proud of my progress! But I've bounced up and down a lot. I was at 263 and then a few days later back up to 268 and then down to 265 up to 267 all in a week's time. See? I was just bouncing around. And I know it's because I didn't stay strictly on the plan. That's all. I am really excited about where I am right now...since mid-June I've gone all the way from 298 to 261 (as of this morning.) I'm fitting into size 22 (down from size 26) and wearing clothes I haven't taken out of the closet since mid-2009 when I was pregnant with my daughter. So yes I know I can be proud... I just don't want to start slacking and give up on the big goal!
Sarabrooke - I just recently came off a few weeks of bouncing up and down, too. Very frustrating. Then I realized that bouncing up and down 4-5 pounds is just what weight maintenance is . No one, no matter how thin or fit, stays exactly the same all the time. There is bouncing! So, I decided to think of the weeks of bouncing as a trial run for maintenance. I didn't let it throw me off plan. I just kept on going. I'm back to losing a bit again. Slowly now, but losing. I know you see the big picture. It is just nice sometimes to be reminded that everyone has those days, too. And I hear you about concession stand food! What a health hazard! LOL You know you're doomed when the best choice is a crappy, cheap hot dog!
I just (re)started learning to live a healthier lifestyle. I realized that I won't see my family again until Thanksgiving...and I'm using that as motivation!
My current weight is 244.8....my goal is to be under 215 by Thanksgiving with official weigh ins/accountability checks on Wednesdays!
So I have totally been forgetting to check in here but I have not forgotten about the challenge!!! Thought I'd update today! Just bc this week will continue to be hectic!
Welcome, Althea! It's never too late to join in a challenge. You have 9 or 10 weeks I think to hit your goal. good luck with that! Come in here as often as you want and post your progress. I do my WI on Wednesday, too. Hope tomorrow's scale is kind to you!
I know I'm a little late to the party, but I would love to join in on this as well! As of today, my weight is 209.6 lbs. I'm just starting out and I know I tend to lose weight way faster in the beginning, so I'm going to aim high and shoot for 27 pounds between now and Thanksgiving (which comes out to three pounds a week).
