Hey ValRock. would you mind telling me how many cals. you eat a day? You are closer to my height, as I have noticed that there are more shorter ladies here, than tall. I eat about 1400 a day, but considering cutting back down.

I don't count anymore. I'd played with the numbers and played with them and had hit a monster plateau at 184 that took 6 months to break. I had been eating as low as 1200 and as high as 1800 trying to break it. In the end I cut out refined carbs and processed foods. I just eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm full. I'm guessing I probably eat close to 1400 at this point. Some days I eat a lot less and some days more. HTH!
Rosinate- ha ha! I wish! I had been hovering around 172 for over a month! But have been on plan (finally) and seeing it creep down. First time I've seen 170. Something. So....yes! Ill pack and get ready . I'm making a rule now though. Have to see 169 something or less three in a row before I cross over. Cause I ain't comin back!
hey, 170s folks! I am still here. I haven't been weighing while I convalesce, but I'm getting closer to the point where I can resume my program again. In the meantime, I'll be watching all of you work your way on down!
Hey, I've been stuck in the 170s for the last year. I'm 5' 9", I started out at 278 and want to reach 150. This plateau has been horrible and very discouraging and so I'm trying to figure out what to do to break past it. It's difficult to maintain a positive attitude and move forward when I don't feel like I'm moving at all. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much.
Difficultprogress: I can't claim to be an expert. And you have done incredibly so far! I was stuck for a couple months, nothing like a year, but what has helped me is focusing on smaller goals (and counting calories. This has probably made the biggest difference). Having a two or three pound goal in my mind makes how slow the progress was going less frustrating. After counting calories and weighing my food my loss has taken off a bit.
I weighed in at 168.6 this morning! I couldn't believe it so I stepped off and on the scale a couple times to be sure. I did however have a couple glasses of red wine last night (made it part of my calorie budget and didn't go over) and I think I may be dehydrated. But who knows I might see 169 somethin tomorrow too! *finger crossed*
