Including Smoothies in a Raw Food Diet

If you are looking for new ideas to add to your raw food diet menu, then there are some great and tasty smoothie ideas that might interest you.

There are many benefits of including smoothies in your raw food diet (this is just a small sample). With smoothies, you can include foods that might be normally hard for you to eat, but you know are good for you. This is an easy way to introduce foods to your family that they may not be willing to try. Smoothies are convenient to eat while on the go; your whole meal can be included in a smoothie.

Smoothie Basics

Being a raw-foodist, or even a vegetarian, you more than likely have the essential kitchen supplies–a food processor or blender.

Your smoothie should start with a liquid base; something of your choice that you enjoy.  That could perhaps be water, raw milk, coconut water or whatever works for you.

Your smoothie should always include a fruit base also: banana, berries, mangoes, oranges, etc.

Smoothie Ingredients

This is where you get to be creative in inventing meals for yourself that are blended into a nutritious and easy smoothie. Some ingredient ideas are:

  • Various Seeds – ground flax, hemp, sunflower, pecan, etc.
  • Lemon or Lime Juice
  • Green Leafy Vegetables
  • Cucumber, Celery, Avocado

Basically anything that you deem appropriate for your healthy diet will work.
