199 - Really!

Okay so I’m scared to post this, but my weight has been 199 two days in a row after the morning washroom visit. So yeah.. I am happy to be here, for REAL this time!!

I haven’t been blogging so much lately because I’ve been busy with my mother in law in town. I’ve been good with the diet considering she is here. I thought it would go haywire because she wouldn’t really like the food, but she has been great. She’s been eating all the salads, lentils and beans.. and the brown rice.

Okay so today, even though I should of been celebrating and keeping to the plan, I totally went off.. I made this coconut chicken curry and regular rice for my kids lunch, and I had some.. (a lot) but it was so good. I’m not going to drive myself crazy because of this.. I had been thinking about this meal for over a week. I was going to make it yesterday but I stopped myself, and I figure if I’m going to eat it, eat it at lunch so I can burn the rest off during the day.

The 30 Day Shred has been going okay.. I’ve finished 7 days of Level 1 so far. Which is good.. and I was reading about the Couch to 5K plan which sounds great, I just want to wait for the weather to get a little better before I attempt that. Also, I have to figure out if my current running shoes will be okay for that. They are at least 8 years old, not that they have 8 years of wear and tear on them. I will try it out for awhile with the current shoes, and if my feet start to hurt I will look at investing in new shoes.

Well, going back to my first post, about the things I’m looking to accomplish, I want to give an update on my skin. I am happy to report that my arms look AMAZING!!! I’m so happy I can’t even tell you. My arms and legs were both covered about 70% in painful, itchy psoriasis. My arms are now at 0% and my legs at about 20%. I’ve been using a cortisone spray which is so unbelievable. Now I know that using excessive cortisone is not very good, but I don’t use it very often. That is how I got myself into this mess in the first place. And as a result of my skin getting better so fast, I have decided not to use the oral medication, methotrexate to relieve it.

As for the get outside goal, it has been almost impossible to do that until yesterday, and today is just amazing!!!!!! So I’m going to go out for a walk with the kiddies as soon as my youngest daughter Safiya (Safi) wakes up from her nap.

  3. yay for you- I hope to get to onederland soon as well!

Man don’t skimp on running shoes- I did and I paid with tendonitis. I now buy shoes from roadrunner sports- best shoes ever- cost me $150 a pair but I NEVER have any pain with them- they are such good shoes and I LOVE going to their stores! They have you walk in a touch pad and run on the treadmill for a minute then tell you what is or isn’t wrong with your feet (like if you have low arches or something) and then get you the PERFECT shoes- they are amazing! :)
