I choose now.

My Plan

It really isn’t much but I figured I’d add it in for anyone who is curious.

Before I get into how I am now, I need to tell you first about how I started.

I sat down and got my priorities straight.  I thought about what is more important to me, eating whatever I want, whenever I want and how much ever I want or having a healthy fit body.  I thought about every food I love, my top favorites and put them up against a healthy fit body.  The healthy fit body won every single time.  There wasn’t ONE single food I could think of that I wanted MORE than a healthy fit body.  Once I realized that I changed the way I thought about everything.  This time it was a choice, MY choice!  Nothing was off limits, nothing was a “I CAN’T” have type food, it was a “I CHOOSE” not to have that type food and by doing that I CHOSE to have a healthy fit body.  By changing the way I think about food I was able to move onto the next step of changing my diet.

First and foremost I cut out the junk.  Fast food, soda, cookies, chips, etc.  Anything that I would consider junk or snacky bad for me type foods.  GONE.  It wasn’t easy and it took me a long time slowly phasing out these things.  I’m pretty sure I started with fast food, then soda, then just stopped buying the junk for the house and so on.  This was the first step in my weight loss journey and it started waaaaay before I started tracking and weighing in and I wasn’t perfect.

Once I got to the point where I no longer wanted that stuff anymore is when I got down to business.  My exercising started with me getting the family out for walks.  That was it for awhile.  Once I felt I had lost a little I started with my elliptical.  At first I could only do 5 minutes.  Not long I could do 10, 15 and before I knew it I was up to 30!  I added in yoga not long after that.  And I only recently added in The 30 Day Shred.

Where I am now is much different then when I first started.  Maybe some people can jump right in and give up everything and workout everyday from day one but I wasn’t one of them.  So that being said this is my plan for now.

Eat no more 1,200 calories a day.  Good filling foods, I still don’t eat junk.  Even though I could and just count in the calories for me that would cause to many cravings and it’s just easier to not eat any of it.

Exercise 5 times a week.  I do my elliptical for about 30 mins and my yoga and 30 Day Shred DVD’s.  I do these in the morning because knowing myself I would put it off all day until it’s time to go to bed and I wouldn’t get it done, so I get it over with first thing in the morning.

Drink at least 64 ounces of water a day.  I don’t get ANY of my calories from drinks.  I have a few calorie free drinks I have but only on weekends OR on weekdays after I’ve finished all my water for the day.

Sleep.  I get my 8 hours in, no more no less!  Only on my days off do I stay up and/or sleep in.  Getting a good 8 hours really helps me with my energy and mood levels and when I get to bed early I’m able wake up early and exercise!

I’m 100% faithful to my calorie limit and unless I’m sick or have life things going on I always do my exercises.  That’s it and for me this works.

It took me a long time to get to this point but it was worth it!
