Housing Update

I hope bigprof really isn’t holding her breath because I don’t want anything bad to happen to her. We definitely are not closing on Friday but only because the sellers will still have repairs being done. We are getting a whole new A/C unit (inside and out) since the other is probably as old as the house and full of mold and yuckiness. They are doing all the roof repairs and some of the electrical repairs as well. The main electrical repair we were going back and forth about will not be done so that will be out of our pocket. We are okay with that because we are getting a NEW A/C UNIT!! We will have to do the electrical repair because it will significantly drop our homeowner’s insurance once we do.

Hopefully we will be able to close sometime next week. I found out I can get a discount for the flooring so I will actually pay less than cost, which is good. One of our best tile installers is back in the country for awhile, so I asked him today what he would charge me since he is in love with me. He said he’d give me a price tomorrow. Hopefully it will be cheaper than what I would pay at our rates.

Forgive me Sisterchicks… it has been 3 weeks since my last weigh in

And the results are…… DOWN 5lbs!!! WOO WOO!!! I decided to bite the bullet and weigh myself today at the gym. I figured it would be where it normally is (between 207-208) because of my weekend and of course I’ve only been tracking calories for 1 week now. NO, I am down 5lbs!! The scale read 202.something (I hate not having a digital scale).

I told my trainer today that I want to start targeting my butt area. I have all these pants that I think would fit around my waist now but I can’t get them over my butt!! (Really, getupnow, I’ll trade) So we are going to start working on that.

Someone needs to extend the weekends

I hate Mondays.

HAPPY MONDAY SISTERCHICKS!! (I’m a little loopy because I’m sleepy) I hope everyone had a great weekend. From the blogs I was able to catch up on this morning, it sounds as though they did. Getupnow had a great run and got a kicky hat we are all waiting to see a picture. Bigprof had a fun dinner party and her HUSBAND cooked the whole meal!! And tiny2b is sticking it to the man and kicking ass with her new Mac.

I totally overdid it on calories over the weekend. I tracked them (as best I could) and I was SO over the top. But all my exercise for the week may help balance it out. We’ll see. I didn’t go to the gym today b/c I had to take the baby to daycare so hubby could turn his car in for repairs from our fun experince on Thursday. I did go walking with my downstairs neighbor and some other ladies this morning though. We walked 2.56 miles. I was late for work, but I don’t care. No one is here anyway. I may do it 2x a week with them just for something new.

We have a tentitive closing date of this Friday for our house. I don’t think it’s going to happen because we are going back and forth with the owners about repairs. We’ve gotten conflicting info from our inspector and an electrician that the seller’s had look at some things. I’m going to get my cousin (who is an electrician) out to look and see what he says. Hopefully it will all be finished soon!

I think I’m going to be low on my calories today so I am going to have to find some things to bring me up. I’m especially looking forward to dinner which will be Chickpea and Spinach Curry from Cooking Light. It only makes 3 servings, so I am going to double it so I have leftovers. YUM!!!

Once again, the weekend challenges me…

So I was really good last night. Remember how I consumed all my calories at lunch (Veggie Fajita Burrito with corn and mild salsa, chips and medium salsa from Chipotle)? Well, in-laws came into town last night, so after son’s soccer game, we went out to dinner. What to do? Oh, a menu of possibilities in front of me. Not really hungry, but everyone is eating…. I got a side salad with oil and vinegar (used all vinegar, just a little bit of the oil)

So this morning, we had to meet them for breakfast to pick up our son who spent the night with grandma and grandpa. First of all, we had to wait for runners of a 15k to run by our apartment. We waited about 15-20 minutes before we were able to get out. I was amazed by watching them. And inspired. Anyway, breakfast was at the hotel, so I had half a container of Special K (one whole package with 140k, which is why I only ate half) and some 2% milk. Then hubby and I went to the gym and I ran for 1/2 an hour then did some weights.

Lunch: I met a friend at our favorite mexican restaurant. We split nachos (so so so good, and so so so bad) and flan. I was SO hungry though. I hadn’t eaten anything except for that cereal. Oh well.

Dinner: 1/2 veggie sub with no mayo from Firehouse Subs.

Eh… what are you gonna do. I have to figure out a way to make the weekends work for me instead of totally losing my mind over the weekend.

I just consumed all my calories for the day at lunch

And you know what… I ENJOYED IT!!!

Car 54 where are you?

What a day, ladies. I’ll start from the beginning. I woke up to go to the gym this morning, went downstairs and….. MY HUSBAND’S CAR WAS GONE! So I ran upstairs to wake him up! He called the cops, called OnStar (which if you have that capability on your car, pay for the minimal service, it definitely helps out). We realized they went through my car as well and that’s how they got the KEY to his car. While we were downstairs waiting for the cops, 2 ladies from the complex were coming to walk with my downstairs neighbor. One of them said as she was walking out the door to come down our way, a guy ran out of her laundry room!! SCARY!! Anyway, the cops came, reports were filed, and I made pancakes for everyone. I didn’t eat any though. I walked our son to school since I had to wait for the cops to fingerprint my car. It was a 2 mile walk that I got, which is good since i didn’t get to the gym today. The found the car intact a little bit later (thank you OnStar) but ALL my husband’s scuba gear was missing out of the trunk. He had taken it downstairs last night since he had a class tonight. He has all the serial numbers, so he gave those to the cops in case the perps plan on pawning them. It looks like our renter’s insurance will cover that though. So I had an unplanned day off of work.

Now, guess what I did last night. I went run/walking for about an hour! I walked my son down to church for youth and then stayed down at the lake just going back and forth. I ran one whole length, then walked and ran whenever I felt like. Yes, Periwinkle i did try some speed work. Actually, the whole walk to church was speed work because my son and I “raced” each other. We’d run at full speed and then walk when he stopped. But I did a little by myself as well. I felt foolish, but I could feel the difference. Of course, I tried the speed work when I was super tired, but I could still feel the difference.. and I sure didn’t run for a minute at a time. And you know what, I could see the muscles in my quads when my legs were out in front of me. Anyway, I was super tired when I was done and then to have to walk home.. UGH!!! But I did it and carried my son part of the way because he fell and scraped up his leg and elbow. So I really didn’t WANT to walk him to school today, but oh well.

It’s been sort of a nightmare today with so much to do. And it couldn’t have come at the worse time since we are trying to focus on this house. Inspection was yesterday and there is some stuff that needs to be done. Blah…..

UPDATED TONIGHT: Today has been weird (besides all of the above). I have been SO hungry! I don’t know if it’s because I was out of routine by being at home or what. I went over my calories today. 1596k today… YIPES!! And I didn’t even get to the gym today. Although I walked 2 miles this morning, so I guess that counts for something, right? Right?

In other news, the weather is GREAT!! It’s so nice out (which is why I ended up running for an hour last night) Soccer practice was nice today because of it. I hope it stays like this but I’m not going to hold my breath. It’s a teaser. Cross your fingers that the cars stay put tonight!!!

I survived!!

I survived the dentist! It was a tough battle, but I did it. My son did just fine as well. They let him come in and watch what they did to me. I have one cavity and he had 2. So we go back in October. The dentist told me she would give him Nitrous Oxide because of his age. I asked if I could get it too because I can’t even think about a needle coming near my mouth. She said my cavity is so small that she can use it as well for me. Insurance doesn’t pay for it, but I don’t care!!

Periwinkle, I too have dreams about my teeth falling out. I haven’t had one in awhile, but I have had them. I remember the last time I went to the dentist, many many moons ago, they had a questionaire and that was one of the questions. It’s supposed to mean something, but I don’t remember what. Too funny!!

No gym for me this morning. Hubby is working from home so I had to take daughter to daycare since I work close by. I’ll have to find something to do today for exercise. Perhaps I’ll go run around the lake when I take my son to church tonight.

Calories were good yesterday. 1374 total. It’s within my range but I still feel it too high. I’m trying this though to see if it works… actually getting enough calories to lose the weight. Open mind. Today will be a struggle though. Remember how I said I would miss out on lunch because of the dentist? Yeah, they waited until today to go b/c it’s another person’s birthday today. Ugh. I’m going to try to find out where we are going and see if the nutritional info is online. If not, I guess I’ll just get a salad. Did you hear me stomach? I’M ONLY GOING TO GET A SALAD!!!
Okay, okay I didn’t really just get a salad. BUT, I did better than normal. We went to chili’s and they had some REALLY good crispy buffalo chicken tacos that looked REALLY REALLY GOOD - BUT, I opted for the Chicken Ceasar Pita with…. STEAMED VEGGIES! No fries for me today. That is a step in the right direction. The pita is only 650 calores (well, I guess that’s a lot, but not as much as some things there) so I feel good about it. Of course, I still feel hungry, but I don’t feel that sick full feeling. I may be a little higher today on calories, but I don’t think I’ll go over the alloted 1550.

But I don’t wanna go!!!

Today is a bad day, ladies. I have a dentist appointment this afternoon. Do you know how long it’s been since I’ve been to the dentist? I hate the dentist (which is why it’s been so long since I’ve gone). The last time I went, they told me I had holes in the enamal of my teeth (from soda, I’m sure) and they would have to fill them. I didn’t go back. That was 12 years ago!! AGUHHH!!! I’m sure I’ll hear the same thing today PLUS that I need to get my wisdom teeth pulled. Oh I am not looking forward to this. My son has his first ever dentist appointment today as well at the same time (convenient). We’ll see how that goes.

Went to the gym this morning. Did 15 minutes on the bike and then my training session. We did legs. Now I’m at work eating my oat bran and blueberries. I did well on my calories yesterday. Total of 1374 for the day.

It’s probably a good thing I have a dentist appt. It’s my friend’s birthday today and I made her a cake last night (what a FIASCO!!!) Since I am leaving work at 11, I won’t have to go out to lunch with the group, nor partake in the cake.

Mondays are just so hard

I dragged myself out of bed at 4:40 to get to the gym. I really didn’t want too. I mean I REALLY didn’t want too, but I knew that I had too. This is it. I can feel it. I am going to do it this time. I am going to actually meet a goal. I did some soul searching while sitting in the airport this weekend (the reason why I bought my cool journal) and realized some of the ways I sabatoge myself and what i need to do to stop. One is I set totally unrealistic goals. Then when I don’t make them, I get self-destructive. I have to realize I won’t be to my goal weight in 3 months. It could take 3, 6, 9, maybe a year. I think it’s finally sinking in.

So anyway, I got to the gym and did an hour on the stationary bike as my tranier reccommended I try. I figure I’ll give this a try for a few weeks. See what happens. I’ll still have my strength training sessions with her. I can also get some other exercise in the evenings or something. Calories are going to be kept between 1200-1550 (that’s according to Spark People).

I can do this. I just need to remember it’s not a competition or a race. It’s life.

Updated: I went for a run walk at lunch. There is a park near my work that has a little fitness loop. It is about a 1/4 mile around. I probably ran half a mile and walked the rest. My legs are pooped!! I guess the bike wore them out this morning. It was mutiny - they jus wouldn’t let me run anymore. I was a little disappointed because in my mind I would do better. It’s something I want to start doing - gym in the morning, somethign at lunch. Even though it would be alienating my friends at work. And perhaps it doesn’t give my muscles a long enough time to recover. Maybe going at night would be better. Hmmmm.. lots to think about. But I still went!

I feel as though I snacked all day. But I had to get in my calories. Stupid sparkpeople won’t let me sign in on this computer for some reason, so I can’t figure out what I had yet, but I think I’m at about 1250-1300. Not bad. Oh and I guess I shouldn’t worry about getting more exercise in the evening since I was on my feet all FREAKING evening long!! From the moment I got home until about 8:30, I was on my feet doing something. One of those evenings. I really want to snack because it was just a tad stressful, but I will not. NO SNACKING!

I am back

My trip was GREAT!! I will have gotten rid of my “Rochester Fog” before work tomorrow, so that’s good. The Rochester Fog is what I call my hangover/brain fog I have when I leave and get home. The hangover doesn’t last that long of course, but the fog does.

Anyway, I picked up a cool journal while I was sitting at Washington/Dulles airport and I am going to do this!! I am going to track calories (1200-1400) a day. I am going to work my ASS off!! I have to figure out a way to get some extra exercise in per day. I think I may walk during lunch, although I may have to wait until it cools down.

Anyway, it will take me awhile to catch up on everyone I’m sure.
