Staging Your Comeback

Posted by: delitaagain In: Motivation

Today I found a book by Christopher Hopkins: Staging Your Comeback A Complete Beauty Revival for Women Over 45He calls this part of our life “The Second Act.” I really like that concept.

I read somewhere today (maybe there) that 40ies are old for being young, and 50ies are young for old age. That’s exactly what it feels like! I felt old and worn out in my 40ies and now I feel like I’m starting again with a fresh start, but wiser this time around - and I’m almost 60! I actually feel better and have more energy.

It walks you through changing your thinking and then changing other things, too, like hair, make-up , dress styles. I only read the first chapter or two but did the suggested exercises and got a lot out of it.

I’ll post some of the things I came up with here. Meanwhile, here are some (loose) quotes from the book.

  • Information without a system of implementation is simply trivia.
  • Turn attempts into achievements.
  • Aspire - Want it!
  • I need a method to fuel my desire.
  • I can be miserable, or I can motivate myself.
  • Procrastination kills accomplishments.

Good stuff here Delita! It’s true about having more energy, so much that last night I couldn’t get to sleep until after 1 am (normal is 11 pm). I got up and played computer games until I got sleepy, which wasn’t good since I needed to get up at 7.
Anyway, I weighed in this morning after 4 days on the new program. I’m excited! I lost 2 pounds, 1″ from waist, hips no change, 1/2″ off biceps, and the most was 1 and 1/2″ off my chest. I am really happy about the results so far. Just wanted to let you know that I so enjoy your posts! take care ~~~ Sandi

Sandi - that is great! I’m very happy for you! I’m still working on the bedtime deal as well. And thanks for reading - it really means a lot to me. Delita
