10 Superfoods Diet: 14 Great Snacks

The 10 Superfoods Diet, which was created by physician Nicholas Perricone, focuses on the consumption of all natural foods that are low in saturated fats, low on the glycemic index and focuses on lean proteins. While on this diet, one will need to eliminate numerous foods from her diet and focus on eating foods listed on Perricone’s Superfoods list. Dieters are advised to eat breakfast, lunch, dinner and two snacks. Below are several snack options that incorporate the fundamentals of the 10 Superfoods Diet. Always remember to consume 8 oz of water with each snack.

1. Chicken with Nuts

  • 2 oz chicken or turkey breast
  • 1 medium apple, chopped
  • 3 nuts (almonds are recommended)
  • 8 oz water

 Combine the sliced protein with the apple and almonds. 

2. Chicken Salad with Fruit

  • 2 oz chicken breast
  • ½ pear or apple, chopped
  • 6 oz plain yogurt
  • 3 almonds or olives
  • 8 oz water

Combine above ingredients, chill and enjoy! Do not forget your water!

3. Cottage Cheese with Fruit

  • ½ cup low fat cottage cheese
  • ½ cup sliced cantelope and kiwifruit
  • 8 oz water

Combine above ingredients and enjoy!

4. Eggs, Vegetables and Olives

  • 1 hard boiled egg
  • 3 celery sticks
  • 3 red bell pepper strips
  • 3 green olives
  • 8 oz water

The above snack includes protein, fiber and nutrients, an excellent combination of ingredients to help keep you full longer.

5. Yogurt with Fruit

  • 6 oz plain yogurt
  • 1 small pear
  • 3 almonds
  • 8 oz water

Enjoy the combination of calcium, fiber, protein and healthy fat with this snack. 

6. Hardboiled Egg and Fruit

  • 1 hardboiled egg
  • ½ grapefruit
  • 8 oz water

7. Turkey with Pumpkin Seeds and Fruit

  • 2 to 4 oz turkey breast (sliced)
  • 1 tbsp pumpkin seeds (preferably raw)
  • 1 apple
  • 8 oz water

8. Pomegranate Yogurt with Seeds

  • 6 oz yogurt (plain is recommended)
  • 1 tbsp pomegranate juice (unsweetened)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 8 oz water

9. Vegetables and Hummus

  • ¼ cup hummus
  • 1 celery stalk
  • 8 oz water

10. Cherries, Turkey and Nuts

  • 1 oz turkey or chicken breast
  • ¼ cup cherries
  • 3 almonds
  • 8 oz water

11. Cottage Cheese with Pumpkin Seeds

  • ¼ cup low fat cottage cheese
  • 1 tbsp raw pumpkin seeds, chopped
  • 8 oz water

12. Nuts, Tomatoes and Eggs

  • 1 hardboiled egg
  • 3 cherry tomatoes
  • 3 walnuts or almonds
  • 8 oz water

13. Milk with Blueberries

  • 1 cup low fat milk
  • ½ cup blueberries
  • 3 almonds
  • 8 oz water

14. Fruit Shake

  • 6 oz plain yogurt
  • ¼ cup blueberries
  • 1 tbsp flax seed
  • Ice
  • 8 oz water

Combine the yogurt, blueberries and flax seed in a blender. Add ice based on your preference for consistency and blend. Enjoy the frothy shake with a glass of water.

Enjoy any of these snacks while on the Superfoods Diet. They are all wonderful for an afternoon or pre-bed snack.
