So for the first time in a month and more I decided to get up and NOT run. I have a pain in my left quadricep that might just be muscle soreness but is rather alarmingly localized and rather intense to be just that. I iced and heated it last night, and it's just a weeeee smidgeon better this morning. I think I'm going to swim instead of run today, and then rest again Monday. I just don't want to cause myself a real injury--

BUT I FEEL SO GUILTY!
I'm scared I will backslide if I miss my run!!!!

In other news, has anyone ever had a bad ant bite? I pooped out yesterday in a pile of grass so luckily I wasn't hurt (current injury seems utterly unrelated) But when I stood up and started jogging again I felt a little twinge on my left hand. I looked down to see an angry brownish ant biting me. I swatted it away, laughing that it had felt the need to add insult to injury (or lack thereof).

Fast forward about 8 hours later, and there are two HUGE, painful, oozing, pussing sores on my hand. The redness and irritation goes from my thumb knuckle to below my wrist. It's WAY bigger than the original nibbling critter.

I've never had an ant bite like this before, and we used to have fire ants! Any remedies people know of? This is just absurd!

I'm going to post back here after my swim. To make sure I swim.

Edit: looked it up and it seems I may indeed have been bitten by a fire ant. Seems I'm in fire ant country, and I fell by a construction site which can stir up ant activity. I had thought it was too big to be a fire ant, cause the ones we used to have in Texas were tiny. But seems they come in many sizes, and my bite reactions are in line with the not-quite-needing-an-EpiPen variety.

Quick post and I will be back later. We had a really bad storm here yesterday. We had 3+ inches of rain in an hour. The power was out all day. I couldn't cook dinner. By the time DH got home from the farm, it was late. We ate out at that time. We got the power back on last night but there was still an internet issue. I was on the phone with our ISP for an hour last night and an hour this morning. I finally have internet service.

I showed another gain on the scale this morning. I expected that from my splurge on Friday and having to eat dinner so late last night.

I will figure everything out and come back to post my info.

ETA:
Approx calories for yesterday: 1675
Weigh In: 148.2
Up: 1.4 pounds
We ate dinner at 10 PM, which is a lot later than we normally eat.

mojo- if you have a mother earth market or health food store try finding the homeopathic called Ledum (will push out the infection and Arnica (bruising and swelling).

Ok, I broke down and weighed this morning. Have sworn to myself, no more of that till Wed!

However, good news from that slip: 159.2lbs ! I broke into the 150s...
Plus I am no longer classified as over weight by my weight/height. Mind you, by tenths of a pound, but still...

That should help keep me in line when we go out to lunch!

Another woosh this morning but not counting it offical til Friday. My stomach has been upset so that might be part of it. Had a little mini binge lats night...way too much food but of an extremely low cal variety...and that's what set my tummy off. Still a great day for cals and sodium. Higher but not outrageous day for carbs.

Getting ready to make 4 pounds of lemon chicken on the grill. Will then freeze it in individual meal sizes. Am going to try to make a bunch of meals ahead and freeze them to make eating from the freezer a healthier experience in our household

Happy, healthy day to all.

Steady at 203 - 7 lbs is about normal for the first week of a low carb, as I recall. I can see the face getting slimmer and the stomach a bit smaller. I probably should restrict what I eat a bit better, but it takes a while to get the sugar craving out of the system, and I don't want to make my diet really boring. For those who worry about such things, I had my first 2 pieces of bacon today on day 8, but they were nitrate free. I am eating lots of salad/veggies. Was going to start an exercise regime today, but we are in the midst of heavy duty packing as we are moving in less than 2 weeks, and I have already been up the stairs 23 times this morning, usually carrying a load, so perhaps I'll wait until tomorrow for the gym!

I am checking in because I love this place! It is taking all the will power I got to stay on plan. I am feeling low and depressed. I guess I better get busy around here to get rid of this low feeling. Thanks for listening.

Posting from my phone:

I seriously ate everything in sight yesterday!
Chinese
Cobbler
Grahams
Pb
Banana
Pizza

After adding, it was somewhere in the range of 2500 cals!
It was like I had a tapeworm! Nothing I ate was filling or satisfying.
I am so glad all my days are not like this!!
I'm right back OP today! I didn't beat myself up, I just started with breakfast!
I refuse to allow 1 bad day of eating turn me aside from my goals.
I also refuse to allow 1 bad day to turn into a multiplicity of days, weeks, months.......
