Please tell me this gets easier. I need willpower, I think. Am I just being lazy to give in so easily to food? I think I may be an addict at this point, or have gone so long with eating a high # of calories. ((sigh))
The non-processed carbs will help control cravings. If you can stay away from EVERYTHING processed you'll be amazed at how great you feel, and after about 2 weeks you'll stop cravings altogether! Have you read "Body for Life for Women" and/or "The Beck Diet Solution"? They are both great books and gave me tremendous motivation and knowledge. Beck is about using cognitive thinking to help with the diet of your choice.

Now, for me.... I got out of the habit of logging in every bite, then started eating too much again (Healthy foods, but just too much.) Still in the 190's. Have to start logging in again!

Well I went to go get my new bike today as it's finally put together. First, ther was a problem, the rack I got for it won't fit. No standard rack will because of the way it's built. That is a major bummer as I planned to use this to go grocery shopping and library runs, etc. I decided to test ride it though and it felt so cramped. I kept raising the seat until it the top almost, but the stretch from seat to handle bar seemed tight. When I finished riding, I realized that the bike is a size small. I had ordered a size medium and the bike specialist and I were wondering if a medium or large would be better for me in a womens bike, definitely not a small which is for 5' to 5'4".

With both those issues, I decided I would prefer the bike I tried last time. I would just change out the seat. I said that and the guy gave me a new seat to make up for all the delay and hassle I had been dealing with in getting this bike. Even the box said medium, but the frame is definitely labeled a small and is a small. Bigg problem is the inability to add a rack!

So now I need to wait for that bike! In the meantime it has gotten so hot, who wants to ride? But I will... This is to my new lifestyle of living healthier and greener.

Ah thanks everyone. This 50 pounds lost was a huge milestone for me and it made me want to push even harder. I'll do a harder workout in celebration of that huge, mental milestone.

Last time I lost 50 pounds, just 20 pounds from goal ( goal was 165 and I got to 185), I literally started falling apart the next day. Sleepnwas bad then and I was still addicted to carbs. Those two problems are removed, so I'm so hopeful...

So I should stop feeling guilty about getting this bike and trailer, right? Ugh... I feel soooooo guilty about spending that money on myself! Especially when the gutters we budgeted for $5000 is now costing us $9400 because of needing all new soffits, fascia, and decorative board. It was all wet, poorly made and metal, allowing moisture in behind. But my fitness is a priority!!!

Berry Congrats on the 50 pounds! That's awesome! Sorry about the problems with the bike. I don't think you should feel guilty about the bike. Do you plan on riding it on a regular basis for your exercise? If so, then you should get it. I felt guilty when I bought my Turbo Fire set. I was so scared that I wouldn't use the workouts. I have really gotten my $'s worth out of them and I'm so glad that I bought them.

K9 Great job getting back on track. It's tough to do. I don't think it really gets easier. Every day is a new challenge. I have found that if I eat a certain way, that I don't have as many food cravings, etc. That's a big help.

Rachael Stay safe on your trip. Check-in when you get back. Great job on getting that water in.

Zoodoo Congrats on your weigh in. You are so close to Onederland!

CatholicCajun Congrats on the progress with your walking!

Shishkeberry Hi

Lauren I'm glad you are getting results from the Physio. How are the wedding plans? Is everything finalized? I think you only have about a month to go, is that right?

Mamakat Good luck with your 5 pound goal. You can do it.

Gwen I also have to log every day and keep up with it. It's a big help for me.

Still Hi

Pfft - harder workout - all I can think about is going to sleep. Because of my nap, I didn't sleep well last night and was on my feet a lot today dealing with that bike. Not walking or exercising, just STANDING and waiting, and then dinner, and making ice cream for the family and so on. It's now 9:30 pm and I just don't have it in me to do more.

BUT... I did sign up for a Zumba Gold class tomorrow. It's a low impact zumba class! Eek! Me, exercising in public!?!?! I haven't done that since college! O.M.G!!! I wanted to sign up for a class on Friday morning too, but I have to take my mother in law to see the eye doctor. Drats! Sounded fun too - Body Step.

Hmmm.... just looked up Zumba Gold online and it says it's for the 'older set' but later said, 'for those new to exercise'. Is that going to be too easy for me? Maybe, but I can't know unless I go. Otherwise I can go to an aqua aerobics class. Hmmm...

Berry I've heard that aqua aerobics is tough! I think it would be fun!

I think that's the one I'm going to do. I did aqua aerobics in college and loved it and I don't mind water in the spring/summer/early fall. HATE it in winter. The more I look at the Zumba Gold, the more I realize it's designed for the 60 and up crowd and those new to exercise. Neither of those fit me. I'm a strong beginner/low intermediate, but not new new beginner any more.

Ah- it's aqua fitness - combo or resistance training and aerobics - PERFECT. I've been having problems with my back a bit lately too, so this might be a good option. I'm excited! Tomorrow at 10 am!

June is off to a mixed type of start for me.

The good news is after 6 weeks of walking 1/2 or 3/4 miles a day, I stretched it out today to 1 and 3/4 miles!! I feel great after a longer walk.

My calories were within plan at 1165 but I blew it on sodium today 2408 which is 408 too high

We attended a dinner meeting at Ruby Tuesday today. New on their menu is spaghetti squash marinara. Oh my that was to die for it was so good!! It was only 355 calories for a huge serving. I ate it all and shouldn't have. I was stuffed. They served it on a huge plate and the serving looked small. It wasn't. At least the calories were low. The bad news turned out to be the sodium. Although the sodium was a lot less than other menu selections it had a whopping 862 mg. I have decided that I will make this at home and I will reduce the sodium. I have already found a promising recipe at Spark People for low sodium spaghetti squash marinara.

As Stacygee did a week or so ago: It stuck! It stuck! It stuck! AND it took some more with it! Down another .6 YAY!!!!!

When I look at my chart, where I am now continues the same line from where I left off about 8 days ago before the ovulation gain. Man, I reallllllly hold water with ovulation, but when I just keep following the plan, it all eventually comes off! Yay!!!

I am going to be working HARD to get to onederland before the next ovulation hits. I probably won't get there, but I know I'll be there soon afterwards.

Morning all! Just popping in to say hi and hope everyone has a great day. Not a lot to report here, stayed on plan yesterday but ate a lot earlier than I usually do because we had that track (dessert) banquet last night at 6, I ate before we went. I didn't have any desserts.
I ended up buying precut mixed fresh fruit that was on sale and skewered it on 4 inch toothpicks with the little plastic fuzzy things at then end. They were so cute and they were gone right away. It was the only healthy option there. Gave me a stomach ache to look at the other stuff.
So I woke up ravenous this morning due to eating so early. Not sure I can even work out before eating, thats how hungry I am. I may have to postpone my workout til later. I have to workout today though because I took a rest day yesterday.
Finally have a day free from extracurriculars, for that I am grateful. Have a great on plan day everyone!

Good Morning! Have a fantastic day, everyone!

Weigh In: 145.4
Down: 1 pound

Berry Enjoy the water aerobics. I am hoping to trying a spinning class one day. I have heard they are great. Does they gym offer that type of class? Congrats on your loss sticking and the additional .6!

Larry I will have to look at the Ruby Tuesday Menu. I didn't know that they had spaghetti squash. If you go back there, maybe you can order the marinara on the side. Then you can use only what you want.
