Do banana's and pretzels too Ssarah, they're so lovely dipped in the chocolate, pretzels are low fat, and the chocolate being sweet with the crunchy salty taste is wonderful

Am in Illinois at the moment, half way through our road trip across the USA. Darling hubby is arriving in a few short hours, haven't seen him for a month and he'll be doing the rest of the drive with us...picture the scene, three adults, two cocker spaniels, a boot full of crap in a Hyundai Sonata....anyone jealous?

More when we get the puter up and running in MA...sometime next week. Take care everyone.

And slices of sponge cake.........mmmmmmmmmmmmm and sponge is low fat.......oh and marshmallows too. A slice of banana, a piece of cake and a marshmallow all on a stick dipped in the chocolate......mmmmmmmmmmmm Once a fat chick always a fat chick!!!!!!!!

I'm sure I have some ideas lurking in my head, but not, I'm afraid, at 6.15 in the morning!

I'm in such a happy mood, it's Friday, I have found a cool job to apply for, and it's a bank holiday weekend. Rest and relaxation on the menu. Is it sad that I consider the chance to go to the gym for a couple of hours on Monday afternoon "rest and relaxation"????

OK we have ideas, the womens weekly site to the rescue

http://aww.ninemsn.com.au/ARTICLE.aspx?id=40926 - we don't have Mars Lite here, but you could use "flyte" or real Mars

http://aww.ninemsn.com.au/ARTICLE.aspx?id=41272

This would be my personal choice, beetroot and chocolate, who could resist! I have a full fat chocolate beetroot cake recipe that is divine.

There a millions of recipes on this site. If you go to recipe search and type in dessert under the keyword field, leave the next two at "any" and then put "low fat" in the bottom, you should get about 4 pages of results, they all look yummy!

Australia is so health concious, and the cooking there is so creative, I really miss it!

One more! It's not chocolate!

It's a grapefruit lemon cake. Yum!

Oops. Too much vino at the work barbeque before Spanish last night methinks. Then I got home and mymother's managed to do something to the internet connection so I've had to sort it out this morning instead of going for a run (my head preferred this option I think!)

I'm looking forward to the end of the day because I'll be on holiday and not back in work until next Thursday. Woo hoo! Plus we're going to my favourite greek restaurant after work, and I'm meeting up with a load of friends in London tomorrow before going off to Prague. And the sun seems to have come back out!

Lynn - those protein brownies were something like that, but I'm not sure it was that exact recipe - I think mine had about a billion egg whites in it (18? 12?) and it was without the butter buds, but otherwise yes it was similar!

I have come to the conclusion that I cannot function on a mere 1400kcals. I'm still not losing any weight at 1400kcals and I struggled to do my second class last night. I'd rather eat more and not lose weight and be able to work out, rather than eat less, not lose weight and not work out properly! So last night I had a bit of a carb-fest! Maltesers in the bath and then 2 oatibix with soya milk and 1 ryvita with flora I felt SO much better for that! I've even started the day with cereal and protein powder! We shall see what my energy levels are like in the gym tonight.

I am SO looking forward to the weekend! I'm going kickboxing for the first time in ages(!) - private lesson, then I am going to tidy the house, go food shopping, go to the library on Saturday. Sunday I have a long run scheduled and depending on my tiredness levels I'll clear out some stuff for fleabay. Monday we are going to "go for a ride" on my cruiser - with my boy riding b!tch! So who knows where we'll end up! I just hope we've got a map!

Hello everyone, I have been off the internet for several days now.

Frus sorry you are having a hard time knowing what to do, but I think you've had all the right advice.

I got to work yesterday in my cycling kit to discover that I had forgotten to bring any pants! I spent the whole day with padded cycling shorts on under my work clothes

We start digging out the foundations for our kitchen extension this weekend so I'll be exhausted by Tuesday. Heavy clay soil that is currently kept nice and dry under a patio so will be absolutely rock solid. Not good, but probably a very good workout

Thanks I'm ok DF and I had a long e-mail conversation and we are all sorted. As for weight loss I'm trying trial and error at the moment! Probably more error than I'd like, but I have about 11 weeks, perhaps 10 at the moment. If all else fails I can go for slim-fast for 2 weeks towards the end, or those silly shrink-wrap seaweed things!

Frus, you have done EXACTLY what I do when I cut my calories back too low. I get to the point when I get so hungry that I can't think straight and stuff myself with whatever I can find.

Ky, wow, gorgeous recipes - that slurping noise you can hear is me licking my 'puter screen Not sure about beetroot and chocolate though! I love the Australian Women's Weekly recipes, I've got about half a dozen of their books and I use the Casserole one all the time.

I think I'm going to go with the dippy chocolate thing... it should look pretty in all the separate pots. The menu at the moment is (starter) grilled peaches and crumbled feta over mixed salad leaves, (main) Salmon Coulibiac served with hollandaise sauce, asparagus and spinach, (pud) molten dark choc, white choc and milk choc with strawberries, raspberries, mango, marshmallows and banana (and possibly pretzels if I can find them) to dip - and cheese & biscuits for those of us (me!) who don't like chocolate.

I never have any nerves cooking for people - usually I love it - but this time I am feeling quite jumpy - I don't like the boss lady - she is a hyper critical and I feel a bit like I'm under inspection with this dinner!

Chocolate and beetroot is lovely. You can't really taste the beetroot, and it adds a richness that can't be described. Makes it a pretty colour too, all dark and purply looking.
