Well done on all the exercise this week everyone. I have been walking to and from work and between the two jobs this week. I haven't been swimming opr anything yet but am hoping my ear is up toscratch on Monday and I can get back into it,must admit I don't actually fancy it this weather and I can't get anyone else to go either. My rebounder is in the house though and I have actually done 10 minutes today. Ear still making things a bit wobbly, got more antibiotics yesterday so lets hope these get rid of the little bug (ger)!!

Went for a walk yesterday lunchtime, was the last thing I really felt like doing, my side was playing me up, but had to get out for a while.

Today though the antibotics have kicked in and I went for a walk in the sunshine today, a brisk 2 miles, fair enjoyed it and came back all windswept and mysterious.

Too be honest Cathy I looked like I had been through the hedge backwards too, but I was trying to be romantic and poetic - Ray just laughed at the state of my hair when I got back.

Am taking the boys swimming later with some friends, will be 6 kids in the group - must be mad. But although us adults won't get any real swimming done, it will be better exercise than sitting on the couch doing nothing.

Have a pile of ironing to do as well and will be tidying Seans room for a couple of hours, all that banding and lifting will help. But no 'real' exercise today for me.

Am considering getting up early tomorrow and doing an aerobics tape - used to do it all the time before ........

Bought trainers and an exercise mat on friday - thought skipping, using my old ab-cruncher and the Mr Motivator video would be enough to start me off for a couple of weeks especially if I could go swimming now and again.

But got exercise just laughing today:

Chris got my weights out of the loft using with my old video and I bought the ab cruncher downstairs. I lay on the floor and tried to isolate my stomach muscles. No success, no movement. Chris told me to move away from the machine and try again. same reaction. he then showed me how to do sit ups properly and pulled a muscle in his shoulder. In the meantime my daughter had asked if she could use the ab-cruncher, had got a blanket and had lain down on the mat bit with the pillow, had tucked herself up and was using the weights as candles next to the bed she told me. Best use for it as far as I can see!

Sounds like a good laugh Helen.

Well the early morning didn't happen, I sat watching Taggart until nearly one this morning, so there was no chance of me getting up at 6 to work out - tomorrow morning will be a different matter and I am aiming for a workout at 6:20 for 30 mins workout, a long shower and then the rest of the morning routine as usual.

need to get back to this.

No walk today either as the weather was pitiful, I could have walked to the town in record time, but would have had to have battled against the wind to get back up the hill to the office. And then the rain .................

Well done Carol, I think you need a lot of motivation to get out of bed before the last possible moment, especially to exercise!

I had a very unusual day for me. Someone told me yesterday about a fitness and health morning at the community centre next to my daughters school so I went this morning. It was totally free with a creche if anyone needed it. We did aerobics, pilates and relaxation then we could be weighed if we wanted or had our blood pressure taken. Mine was fine which surprised me no end! And we came down from the exercise to a table full of mango, pinapple, kiwi, and other fruit, dips, veg for dipping, fruit juice etc. Wow. Still all free!

Then after taking my daughter back to the school in the afternoon I went swimming. Not sure how many lengths I managed as I was quite tired from the morning and kept losing count but I think I probably managed around 20 again.

Got caught in driving hail on the way home and then just collapsed! I'm off for a bath and very early night in a minute. I am very pleased with myself. As my husband pointed out it was probably the most exercise I've done since I was about 14 (when I started skiving off PE) and I'm now 38. I was amazed I kept up as I was definately the most overweight person there.

Wow Helen, well done. I don't think I could have done all that in one day. Have a good sleep. The food sounds fab too. Carol, what exercise did you do this morning, well done luv. I am trying to get back into Tae-bo every morning again, but it's so cold, not an excuse I know, but I'd far prefer to stay in bed a half hour longer, all snuggly buggly like.

I wish they'd do something like that round here, Helen. I'd definitely be up for it. I actually miss aerobics, but the class i was going to shuts down for the winter because she says not enough people bother to turn out if they have to go in the cold! We think it reopens in March; so not that long before i can go back, I suppose!

It sounds like you've done really well today anyway- think of all the points you must have burned! Keeping up is brilliant too when you're not used to that kind of exercise.
