Have been really active over the last week. Was up the caravan with the boys and my mum, walked and rode my bike for miles, even ran races with the boys. But still the waist bands are tighter than they were a week ago.

Yesterday I did the race for life, 5 KM, 3 miles for cancer reasearch, did it in 52 minutes, would have done it faster but there were little oppotunities for overtaking along the path. I even ran well jogged for some bits of it, yes you did read that right I jogged in public for some of the race.

Am going to do it again next year and am determind to do it much quicker. Have a year to train for it and lose more weight. You know how it goes, will work at it for a fortnight then do nothing before the big race next year. But I will be lighter.

This last week has taught me one thing, walking is not enough to improve my fitness, need to add something else into the plan. Will think about it while I am on holiday.

No exercise today, but Ray is assembling my new bike, so that may change very quickly......

Bike is fantastic, suspension and everything

Am going to keep an exercise journal while I am away to see just how much or how little we end up doing. Have a plan until Friday then I'll just need to play it by ear.

Tues - bike ride and 30 minutes of stretches

Wed - Walk - going to Edinburgh Zoo with friends is built on the side of an enormous hill, will do me the world of good

Thurs - swim, well a splash around with the boys and a walk / jog keeping up the good work of last weekend.

Friday - few stretches and a bike ride in the morning

Looks a lot now I've written it down, but I am determined to do it, will be superfit by the end of the week

Am just back from a bike ride, we went between 4 -5 miles, when I am at the mountain shop next week I am going to buy one of those cool pen like things which you draw over a map and it measures the distance for you.

Am being taken out for dinner now, so all the good work will be undone - no starter or pud though am making good choices.

Todays plan has changed, no zoo trip. Will run around the park with the kids and then do some stretches. Will probably walk to the supermarket to pick up a few things, is only a mile away

OK have walked millions of miles and cycled even more, most of it up hill - or so it seemed at the time, but I am feeling flabby and unfit, time to get moving again.

Am back and serious

Went out on my bike last night, went about 5 miles, need to buy a local map so I can measure the exact route using my new distance measuring pen, how sad am I.

Am hoping for a walk tonight.
