SOO-SHEE!!!
SOO-SHEE!!!

You've RUN up ANOTHER challenge!!

And today is my Day 21 of the no-wine challenge. (Pause day yesterday.) I'll be taking an extended break now, maybe just a couple of week-at-a-time challenges. But I'll be dropping in nonetheless.

Tomorrow is the ninth day of my 12-day month of boot camp. Most of it's pretty good - and I can even see some improvement in some of the strength exercises. But it's all getting a little frustrating. There are between two and five of us present each time, and the other four (all men) are thinner, fitter, younger, and most important, have been doing this for several months already. And this week's instructor just isn't getting that she has to provide modifications for me for some of the more demanding exercises. It's like a big surprise every time I say I need a simpler version of something, and I'm getting tired of being centred out all the time. So I may not continue after next week after all. Sad to say, my ego is just too fragile, and since my reaction to that kind of stress is to jump into a vat of , it's counter-productive. (If I were to write an account of yesterday's food porn excesses, Red would inflict a public beating on me. Ooh baby!)

Hello all. Taking a moment to post a looooooooong one. OK. That sounded bad, somehow.

marble- I think the horse is working me harder than Suzanne would - and is more attractive. You know those shirts they used to have that said "Body by Bud" - well I am going to get one made that says "*** by Arabian"

Yorkie - You wonder what good doublecaloriesar if your laughing may kill you? Well - live hard, die young, and leave a good looking corpse???

Fish - why the 20 hour days? what do you do again? And while I like to ride bikes, and am trying tojoin a bicycle club, I am a horse girl through and through.

Cbeta - my motivation likes to take vacations to the Bahamas. You maywant to check there for yours!

JCT - glad to help you burn calories through laughter.

Chai - glad to see you.

Patience, Carla. Dont' compare yourself to anyone but yourself. Only your journey matters. YOu will get there. I too let the discouragement lead me to But it just isn't worth it.

I had a great day. Splurged a bit because I was feeling good about how my challenges were going, and got some acrylic wraps on my nails, which I have NEVER done. I let the tech talk me into it. Not real long though, but hopefully will allow mine to strengthen. Tough on the typing though.

Day 17 of the menu challenge and day 18 of the no soda challenge - complete. Have a good one all.

Ok, so I went back pages and pages, to find my original goals...
Here they are

Challenge A - Gym: Level 3 (same rules as before) Start Date: 2/23 Day 1Challenge B - H2O: Level 2 (same rules as before) Start Date: 2/23 Day 1
Challenge C - Food: Level 2 (same rules as before) Start Date: I am not going to do this one for right now!
Challenge D - Carbs: Level 3 (I'd like to reduce the number of carbs I intake. Taking curly's suggestion, I am going to keep them under 60!). Start Day: 2/22 Day 2. Count=59
Challenge E - Lunch: Level 3 (I'd like to start eating my own lunches at work and at home, I feel like it's more wholesome. If I got something healthy at a friend's house or at the restoran the night before, I will count it as brought in lunch as well.) Start Date: 2/4 (I've actually been doing it already) Two pause days, out of three, have been used and today is Day 18th. I will be taking a pause one on Saturday so last day will be Monday. (At least one challenge while I am injured!)
Challenge F: Cleaning: This is so tough, I barelly have any time at all. I am always running around. House is such a mess, I can do better but nooo I like my laptop a lot more ;-) I've got to start something like this, so the plan is to clean up first and then practice upkeeping the order. If all goes well. Start day is Monday.
Goal: Other unrelated ideas: My job contract is comming to an end in March, so I must finish writing my resume and send it to so many people. I shall do that by 10th of March. Also I must do my taxes. I don't want last year's hussle of standing in line at 7am to mail them in. Never again. Must complete those by March 18th!
Congrats to everyone completing their challenges. Kudows to the ones continuoing on in this madness... :-)
As day 2 went away I've counted my carbs to the last minute. After workout, I came and was plugging on fitday what I can and cannot eat to make up to 60carbs.. :-) I so wanted to be under. Alright it's getting late and my message is too long. Off to drink the last bottle and sleep. Early wake up tomorrow for my doctor's apptm.
Have a good weekend and successful weigh-ins (those doing it in the next few days)

Quick quick quicker...
Bugger me - had to take a pause day yesterday and feel horrible horrible horrible about it, for many reasons. But let's face it, I was so tired I fell asleep four times during the day, and could hardly drag my feet. So no running.
And only 18 minutes the day before - it was late, and I was tired... Hopefully today will go better. Even though I really don't feel like it -- blame the pause day, I knew it would make me feel like that. It's stinking hot, I need to be back home from running by 8:30 pm, and all that makes me want to do it even less... But I will.
So day 2 today, I suppose. And I only need 110 minutes to meet the Februrary goal of 500, so things aren't looking that bad.

Sadly, no tennis OR skating... Tennis coach did not get back to me. :frus: Didn't have enough time to drive to skating on Wed (it's 40 km one way), and was way too tired yesterday... will have to wait till Tuesday. No idea what to do about tennis, this guy just never gets back to me, and I don't like the other clubs I enquired with... and in less than a month, we're off for 3.5 weeks... So maybe I should wait till we get back in mid-April, especially since I don't want (or need) to spend money right now...

Yesterday was Day 10 for calories, at 1370, and Day 9 for exercise; I walked around the Chelsea and Flatiron neighborhoods for over an hour. I also found where the Barney's Warehouse sale is being held, and am totally going next week before it ends!

Chai - only a soda and no water all day? Tsk, tsk . But good for you for realizing that and making water part of your challenge again.

Curly - you are so disciplined at keeping your carbs down! How is the gazelle doing lately?

Carla! 21 days with no wine?!? Congratulations? Just kidding you are my hero for finishing that particular challenge - but I think that definitely puts you out of the fat chicks drunkards union . That is too bad about the boot camp - but I think you should at least stick out this 12-day period.

Hi to everyone else! Have a wonderful weekend!

Good morning, everyone. Interested in riding horses, Curly? It's easy - keep one leg on one side and one on theother. Facing forward is generally a good idea.

Danzer - I agree on the number of posts. Hard to keep up sometimes when you are busy.

CBeta - you have so many challenges - you are definitely the most challenged person here OK so i have a sick sense of humor.

Sushi - my feet are dragging today too. I decided to do my yoga tape today, but was more interested in my pedicure and spots i had missed shaving than positions, so I decided perhaps I should try again tonight. Bad, Jolly, bad.

Other than that, it should be a good day. Everyone, have a great one!!

Just a quick flash post-boot camp. This morning I was the only participant to show up at boot camp, so there was an opportunity to chat with the problem instructor. All is now fine, she understood my issues, and we had a really good workout - TOTALLY adapted to me and my needs. I knew it could be fixed, just couldn't figure how to do it without getting all aggressive and wounded. So there goes my excuse for not re-upping! And I do realize that the feeling bad part has more to do with my personal insecurities than the instructor's intentions. But we are who we are, and it's always a stuggle working around our flaws. In any case, that mountain has returned to molehill status, and I'm good to go.

Fish, never fear, I'm still a card-carrying union member. Don't forget there were 3 pause days in that challenge, at least one of which I not only used but abused... Getting up at 5 am for boot camp has really put a crimp in my drinking habits. But I'm with the other members in spirit - even if it's not always in spirits...

Speaking of spirits, where is Red hiding these days??

Sushi, it sounds like the fitness gods are making things tough for you. You're welcome to come join my boot camp group...

Back from the doctor's office about me. Very excited: I got a nice big brace (it's slides a little bit because my thy is so big, but otherwise if I correct it every so often it's good to go), received referral for 9 physical theraphy appointments (yes this time around I will continue all of the excercises given, not like slacking last time, I am determined to make that knee stronger), and they are working with insurance to pre-approve my MRI, that will tell me all that is ripped in my knee. Nice guy, spent like 45 min with me, I think it will get better I just need to work at it...

Hey CBETA, maybe I looked over it earlier, but what happened to your knee? I like your determination.
Carla congratulations on your challenge. Glad things worked out for you.
I paused on WATP and water yesterday. But I have completed WATP today for day 2. I don't know if Itold you all but I am making all of my challenges level 3's. So that leaves 2 pause days on WATP and water and 3 for my food journal.

Where are you red?
Oh, I am day 3 for journaling.

Cool

Good morning, all. I am back from the beach. Didn't get much of a tan, but enjoyed listening to the waves. Also got in a bit of running and sets of crunches, but had a day off in between so can't call it a stealth. I am declaring today (Saturday) Day 2 of a crunch and back exercise challenge...10 sets of 20 reps of ab work and about 100 reps of some sort of back exercise..I have been doing the alternate arm and leg raises and think I am getting more even. I have always been stronger on one side from having carried a heavy duffel bag on my shoulder for years. It affects my riding a lot and I have taken great pains to even out. It's getting better.

So, that's an easy challenge but it's all I want to muster for now. If I don't do something I just have no motivation to be here at all, so I am keeping it at that.

So, I have changed my avatar again and am giving you all a little art appreciation lesson with a Paul Klee red balloon. Taking the cultural experience up a notch here!
